We got a LOT of space in our yearbook. There was a page for the color guard, one for each of the marching bands, a couple for our jazz bands, and a couple for our concert bands. But, then again, we have five jazz bands, two color guards, two marching bands, and seven concert bands. However, its usually only a quote or two, and pictures with captions that take up a lot of room. We have almost 300 kids in band, so that might be why.

That's just wrong. At least it wasn't your senior yea, tho... (Hopefully.) Our school has mixed feelings about our band. In the year book we get like 4 pages in the back usually (Concert, symphony, jazz and marching) Other than that tho we never get recognized. We got to State MSBOA this year for the first time in 3 years and we got a two. The Monday after they announced the loss of the girl's basketball team, but said nothing about us. stressed

My school's band and orchestra wasn't in it too! I asked my music teacher (She's retiring) why they didn't and she said ," I didn't notice!! Last year there were two whole pages with Band and Strings and Chorus!!!" Then she walked off the room towards the principal's office... I really hope that they do something with it next year.... It's my last year!!!

i rather wish we were recognized that much. we hardly get diddly squat. we got all ones at marching competition. all ones at concert. and we get ......oh y'all had a competition? grrrr. and then the cheerleaders and the football players have the whole school administration behind them! it's nice to know the band gets over recognised sometimes.

Whoah. That blows. We get at least one page. Then again our school doesn't really care about the band. Even our own principle tried to shut down the music program... b***h...

Last year there wern't any pictures of band. I was on yearbook staff this year, and I made SURE there were at least two band pages. and there were. I took pictures for them, and passed the camera around the stands during marching season. Haha, intersting.
I know EXACTLY how you feel though. At the honors assembly the band and choirs werent mentioned AT ALL!!! Our new band director is talking to the principal about it so thats good.

My band has been in the yearbook, but for the past three years it's been messed up in some way.
Two years ago: They got my director's name wrong. Last year: You couldn't even see anyone because the picture was so grainy (and I know there were better ones) This year: They used the wrong picture for one of the bands, so there were two pictures of the jazz band and none of the other band.
My director got so mad he said he was considering not getting the band in the yearbook next year. Too bad for the younger band people, luckily for me I'm leaving this year.
I can't decide which is worse, the picture(s) being messed up, or not being in it at all...

We only get two pages, which are usually side by side, but it's nothing so amazing and wonderful like it ought to be. People have the most retarded idea that people in band are geeks and nerds and what not. So what? At least they have at least a little aim with their life and aren't out being whores (most aren't anyway -_-). Besides that people think band is easy and that we are lazy. Far from. I'm in guard and that's difficult and I started out on trumpet before I hit High School and that was difficult too. I also took a music theory class in high school which helped me get an even better understanding of how difficult playing an instrument can be.

wow. thats total bull. if i was your band i would raise hell and if that doens't work then i would stop coming to events and the crap they make us play for. they never know what they have until its gone...in my yearbook theres a whole section dedicated to the performing arts, although drama takes up most of the space and theres no pictures of the pit orchestra which is crap since there would be no play without us.

That is so unfair! Our band gets at least a page but people in our school dont appreciate music that much....especially most of the 7th graders.
