Meh I stopped trying to make sense of ANYTHING my grandparents do. I figure they're old, stuck in their ways, and can't take the idea that maybe... just maybe... they're wrong. It's actually funny cause my mom tried to convince me that Mexico had much more beautiful scenery than the US before our first trip back there after we had officially moved here. We went down there and I literally looked around before turning to my mom and saying "Yosemite is prettier and so is the Grand Canyon....you lied." (I was 12 at the time) She got all embarrassed and said that perhaps she may have been exaggerating. Funny thing is, my dad is convinced that if Mexico had been able to keep hold of the land, they would've ruined it. They do a really bad job of protecting areas of nature.
As for Canada, I feel hella bad for the entire country and you wanna know why? They are neighbors with the US and have to deal with the constant stupidity of being called the US' hat or like the attic of the US or stupid s**t like that. And then all the jokes people make about the country, makes me want to slap them.... either that or join the Canadian side when they finally invade and beat the entire country senseless for being so stupid.

XD I love it
EDIT: Tourist: “Can we see any wildlife in the area, you know, by the side of the road?”
Me: “Sure, we routinely see elk, deer, mountain goats and bighorn sheep. I’ve seen a couple wolves too, and we get a lot of bears.”
Tourist: “Oh! Can we feed the bears?”
Me: “No, sir, the bears are wild bears. They are extremely dangerous and you should never approach any wild animal. Just stay in your car, with the windows up, and you’ll be fine.”
Tourist: “Oh… can we send our kids to play with the bears?”
Me: “That would be ‘feeding the bears,’ sir…” XP Such wonderful parenting

It does remind me of Hetalia. xD Especially this chapter.(There's a nice, organized index of the comics here.Russia is totally my favorite character! <3 <3 <3)I am personally really embarrassed whenever fellow Americans do something stupid, which is pretty much all the time. I mean... we're just such a dumb, fat, and somehow narrow-minded population. In general, obviously. Or maybe I just don't know enough people. But compared to my cousins in other countries, what we're learning in school is so dumbed down.

lol, Hetalia's awesome~
I don't think that my education has been bad, I'm in the second best school in the state 3nodding But i haven't really been in other school districts.
Anyways, I've met a lot of people in the US who aren't really stupid like that. Actually, I haven't met anyone who's like that...

Sanzoskitsune I've tried to tell that to people... the funniest thing is I've gotten this "we're Californian so we don't HAVE an accent" I literally sat there and stared at the person before walking away. I wasn't even going to bother to try and explain that EVERYONE has an accent. Some of you might have seen this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UgpfSp2t6k&NR=1I feel really weird when she gets to California/Washington because I know that's not her real voice so she's mimicking an accent but it seems just like how we talk where I live. I know we all have accents but since I'm so used to it... it's just weird. sad sad

I live in Georgia, and most everyone I know talks like the California/Washington accent as well. The farther out of the suburbs you get is only when you start hitting the country accents. And then you have the classy southern accent, the hickish drawl, and everything inbetween.

This is why I'm glad I surround myself with generally intelligent people.
I say generally because..even they do/say stupid crap from time to time.

Funny, I always thought the stars and stripes should be green and pink with a picture of a hamburger.
And the France flag? Yawn! Red, white and blue is so last century!! Pink and white! And a picture of a corissont.
