You dont play insturments or play music.
And like I said, you're only there part of the time. lol

And like I said, you're only there part of the time. lol *sigh* i've done this guard gig for ten years now. this debate shall never go away. Sukomo... no section is better than another. Colorguard is part of the band just like you. We put our time and hard effort into this activity just as much as you do. Honestly the groups i came from relied heavily on the guard. We get the greater percentage of G.E. at shows for the band. Plus spinning a broom is rather different than the equipment we are given. All of them are weighted accordingly to what the director wants. Then you add in the weather. Rifle get waterlogged, flags weighed down by rain, etc. Honestly if you get hit by the guard you better check the rules of traffic in band. Like if you see them and they can't see you... you're in the wrong (just like driving). also like how you have to have precision with your group we do as well with ours. If by chance we get off usually it's not our fault. That means there's a tear in tempo hiding somewhere. In conclusion one section does not a good band make. It takes everyone working as one to the one goal. Failure to do so shows the same results. Every group should respect the other. None is better than another. If you can't muster that, then you shall get none in return and be stuck in the sterotype of an "a*****e drummer".

The whole point of this was wondering WHY we are grouped with the guard in the forum, and how I thought it was unfair and how I thought percussion was better then guard.
But then again, I think percussion is better then the brass and woodwinds razz

Ur just making people dislike you, though, i'm sure your used to people not liking you. finally, someone understands. btw sukomo, when you try out for guard you have no experience unless you were in a junior guard, they teach it to you and you have to put your time and effort in it. just like you guys but you guys get trained be fore hand. they dont have pageantry in middle school eccept the eceptional middle schools but most don't the'll have just a band. note: this is coming from a person who not only loves guard but respects it. and you have everything to deal with, you guys are grouped with us because if you haven't noticed in feild most guards follow the drumline. go and look it up. also you need to learn to be a team player there is no i in the word team! stressed

Everyone in the band including guard will probably aways see their sections better than all the others. especially if your competitive. Either way one section is not better than the rest. Without one section there would be a hole missing in the show.
Your just being a cocky b***h because you think percussion should get their own thread. Seriously percussion and guard get together doing winter guard. It sounds right for them to be put together.
This whole arguing on the inter-web is getting kinda immature seriously grow up. Your not as special as your mommy says you are.

I think guard should have their own as well as percussion AS WELL with brass, woodwinds, and even strings.
