You guys are so lucky! My band is going to Disneyland, but it isn't nearly as cool as the magic music days. It's cool though...we get to march in a parade and spend the rest of the day wandering around.

I've been to that but at Disneyland in California, not Disney world. We didn't do a parade though because it was in middle school and we were a concert band. I don't know if they do the Magic music days parade thing over at Disneyland anyway. They do other marching band showcase parades but not Magic music days.
All we did was sight read some disney music from the movies and then play it over the film like the real thing. We got to keep the tapes and we got t-shirts. That happened in the morning then we spent the rest of the day at the park.

tragicXdragonfly In April of 2006, the 10-15, my marching band will be down in Florida at the Disney Magic Music Days in the parade and a concert clinic. I was wondering if anyone else was going to be in Disney around the same time. I think that would be amusing. Also, I was wondering if anyone HAS been there, because I would like to know what it is like. biggrin I did that last year! It was SOOOOOOOOO much FUN!!!! have fun!

Mmm, sounds familiar. Our band goes to that parade every three years. Techincally we get invited I believe, but you have to pay your way there and it's so expensive whee sweatdrop . We did a lot of stuff at other places like Sea World and Universal too. But anyways, we went there last March for a few weeks. It's so nice down there. ^^

We did that last year. We played at Epcot, We were suppossed to march at Universal, but our form didn't get there on time, And we played at Hard Rock Orlando. We got 3rd there. ^^
We even got to go to the House Of Blues! It was awesome.
Our school goes every 4 years.

Also, I was wondering if anyone HAS been there, because I would like to know what it is like. biggrin well i haven't been to the one it florida but I have been to the one in california, the clinic part is pretty cool and they put what you play to the movie the music is from and you also get to have a tape of your performance and it show the clip with the music you played as the sound track

Our band does the Disney parade every four years, so everyone gets the chance to go once. We'll be there 3-30 to 4-05. We're also doing the concert clinic, which sounds like fun!

shadowsaira My high school band went a few years ago and did a concert on Tomorrowland stage. I really liked the clinic though (we did the recording one and we played the music for a Tarzan trailer and then they edited us playing onto the animation). It was cool trip. We stayed at the Carribean beach resort which was nice because we could have a pool party every night and watch the fireworks from the shows in Magic Kingdom. It was also nice that we could travel between two parks, Downtown Disney, and the resort as many times as we wanted each day so it was virtually impossible for the chaperones to keep track of us. We did the same thing, except we stayed in a lesser hotel and our recording was for Atlantis. I don't know which stage we played on, but backstage in Toon town was crazy. The "Disney Ghetto" we dubbed it. We got three-day parkhopper passes and a day at Universal Studios and both our performance and workshop were in the morning on one day, so the rest was pretty much time to run around the parks. The chaperones didn't even try to keep up, they just roamed around and occasionally caught sight of packs of us here and there inside the parks blaugh Most freedom I've ever had in my life.

We don't go to Disney World. :.; We go to the Disneyland out here in Cali every year for a Christmas parade that is all. Our school would never pay for to go all the way out there. sweatdrop

We went down to Disneyland a couple of years ago. we played our fight song down main street and played our show somewhere else. We all got free t-shirts. mrgreen

lol my band jus got back from Disney World yesterday. We did 3 parades and a recording workshop for the little mermaid. 1st parade was epcot then islands of adventure. The best was when we opened for the Magic kingdom parade and we were the only band playing . Our band goes every year and everyone was so excited to see us. It was the best parade ever! blaugh
