I have read all the books including Midnight Sun and I thought they were pretty good. I don't like the fact, however, that how big they have become. Yea, I thought they were good books but all of the stuff that's going on with this is just annoying for me. That's my opinion on it!

I started reading the books before they were too popular. I liked the first through the third okay. I did not like Breaking Dawn at all. I think the fans were getting too big for Stephenie and she got pressured while writing the 4th novel. One thing I would like to point out though (because everyone who has read and liked the novels will think I'm crazy), I do not like Edward that much. I guess I am really independent because I thought he was way too overprotective. In Breaking Dawn, I wanted to just smack him and tell him to get a hold of himself. I get he was scared for Bella, but shouldn't he stay strong to keep her strong? My favorite characters are Alice and Jasper. smile I thought the movie was okay though.

I love them all. I can't rationally explain it to anyone but me, but Edward is perfect in every way. Some of his better qualities have now been added to my perfect guy.

Personally, I love the series. Sure it wasn't one of those books that are so exiting they give you heart attacks, but they were still really good books. What I didn't like about them was the fact that the vampires were pretty much indestructible. And perfect in every way. The werewolves were even worse. They were just too.... big. XP Lol. There's no way a wolf the size of a horse could go unnoticed. Especially after their tracks had been found. I did like the idea that vampires don't burn in sunlight and the werewolves can change at will though. whee

I've read the first three recently, and while they were okay, I really don't get all the hype about them. rolleyes They were really, really popular where I live. There was a waiting list at the library for all of them for months, they were cleaned out of the bookstore literally hours after a shipment came in, and I was the last of a long line of friends to borrow one of the three copies between us. Here comes the difference between a really good book and an okay book: I read the Harry Potter books, and loved them, in the third and fourth grades. Kids of all ages are still reading them and loving them. Twilight was really popular for about a year, but now a lot of the obssesion has gone away (at least where I live. I can't talk for the rest of the world). They were nice for a light read, but I have better books to become addicted to. Maybe it's just reading style or something. neutral

I absolutely LOVE vampire novels! They make me happier then even chocolate and ice cream!
Unfortunately, I really despise the Twilight novels.. -dodges books, a cup, and omg a knife! come on guys!-
I have to agree with Minerva on what I felt was a very poor plot and character development. So much in the novel felt like a total afterthought it really disappointed me. Edward's one liners were really the only thing that kept me turning pages and even those ran out relatively quickly. Bella felt so ... totally false to me for reasons I cannot explain. It was impossible for me to relate to her in any way.
I think Alice was the only character I honestly kind of enjoyed. Edward was quite interesting in the beginning, but by the time you hit the 4th book.. Meyer totally destroys him. It reminds me of what happened with Hamilton's Anita Blake series... except of course her stuff turned into a huge orgy instead of a huge bore. lol Either way, totally ruined it for me. lol
I did, however, kind of enjoy the movie. I didn't expect a whole lot when I went to see it, having read the novel already, and was pleasantly surprised.
Honestly, though, I really don't understand what all the fuss is about.. though Robert Pattinson is definitely easy on the eyes! -fans self- Hellllllo Mr. Cullen you can watch me sleep anytime!!!!!

Thanks, ashes and Cricket! That was I was getting at; they aren't the worst books in the world, but they're so much less developed than other novels that they don't deserve all of the hype.

Okay I read the series, I liked them. Now everybody is friggen obsessed at my school!!! Like, me and my best friend, we love books. We have been to three book stores in the last month, and every one had at least three shrine-things devoted to Twilight! And now there's a whole crap load of vampire books out, and I think everybody is over them. I saw the movie, and loved it. But I dislike Robert Pattinson. To the extreme, I really don't like him sad . But the movie, compared to the book, isn't very good. Me and my friend, the only reason we still like it, is because of Alice, and for me Jasper. I like Jasper, book and movie version. heart heart
And I too, agree with Minerva.

I really like the Twilight series. Before I read these books, I didn't like vampire stories very much. If it looked really good, I'd read it, but the Twilight saga really made me appreciate vampire stories more. I've read about 10 vampire books I would've never read if I hadn't read Twilight. I've also read many good fanfiction stories about Twilight. Alice rocks! She's my all-time favorite character in the series. I mean- how awesome would it be to be able to see the future? It would also be neat to read minds. I do think Edward can be a little overprotective at times. And unwilling to admit his mistakes. The movie.. was ok. I loved that many of the lines were exactly the same as in the book. Not many movies do that. The acting wasn't that great, though. Bella seemed a bit.. flat. She could have added more character to the role. But it was better than I expected it to be!

I've got to say. I absolutely love Twilight and all the other books in the series!!! I have always loved Edward in the books, but in the movies so far he just isn't living up to my expectations. The one they have for Bella fits my idea of how she should look, but she just doesn't work with the idea of how Bella acts. Too much blinking her eyes when she gets emotional. My favorite characters in the movies are definitely Emmett and Jacob. Especially in New Moon!!! I read the rough draft for Midnight Sun and i hope Stephanie is going to get it published!!! In fact, I hope she does that for the entire series. It's frustrating trying to figure out how Edward feels about what happens. My favorite book in the series has got to be Breaking Dawn though. >^.^<
