Sablara Not at all. Two reasons : Firstly, spending money is helping the economy (I don't think I need to say that the world economy needs every little bit of help it can get at the moment!). Secondly, Christmas should be about celebrating Christ being born, not about how much you spend on a present for someone. Last year I made most of my presents. The only person who complained was my brother - but then he's the most Capatist, selfish person I know...so I don't think that counts. AMEN

I don't think it makes you a bad person at all. It's always not the value of the gift you've given to someone, is just the thought of giving and celebrating it with love ones; and first and foremost celebrating Jesus Christ birth.

Mercenaryx2070 Here, here. Everything's pretty much already been said, but you must be an incredibly selfless, sweet person if you're even having the slightest bit of a moral dilemma about this. And in which case, you deserve the new laptop even more 3nodding I agree with everyone. It doesn't make you a bad person at all.

I can see where you'd feel bad about it, but, it seemed like you really needed a new laptop. And if you're like me and keep everything and then some on your computer, it's really important to try and save all your information and keep everything together. Don't feel bad. Sounds like you're a very caring person and you should be able to come up with some great, affordable gifts. I know how you feel about that as well. When I'm in a budget bind like that, I look for nice gifts and good deals. (Amazon.com has some nice stuff.) Lucky for me, I have a not so picky family. My aunt collects angel figurines. Bam! I start a tradition with her where I send her one either every year or every other major holiday/event. My cousin is 15. Since I don't want to get him something he won't wear, I ask him blind questions about his favorite foods. Jelly Belly beans. My uncle is the thinker type. He's also a minister who loves old school gospel songs.
I think your heart goes into the gifts you give, so, I won't even have to say that to you. But don't feel bad. Working people these days do need computers. Chin up!
