Ely smiled patiently as the nurse seemed to flit about; her head seemed to spin out of time with the rest of the room and she blinked several times to clear her eyes. As the nurse went on, Ely found herself tuning out every few seconds or so, glancing over at the fourth-year, unsure of her intentions.

The nurse's words echoed in her head and she blinked back into the conversation, dragging her gaze to the woman, nodding as she heard her tones finalize. Ely hadn't really heard most of what the woman had said, but burn ointments were simple enough to apply... Ely stood when the doctor said they could go.

Ely came to an abrupt halt for a second, her hand grabbing onto the hospital bed a bit more quickly than necessary. Her head was still spinning for some odd reason, making her uncomfortable, like the room was turning upside down without her. She shrugged it off quickly, nodding to the nurse.

"Thank you; I'll be sure to be more cautious next time."The elf managed a curt laugh before shifting her attention to Skyeles; she picked up one foot after the other, walking over to him. Her gait was a bit strange, but hardly detectable to someone who didn't know her. It could have been a gimp leg or some other variation of trouble; but really, Ely was just trying to keep up with the spinning room.

Stopping by Skyeles, the elf glanced up at him from beneath a curtain of wild bangs and dark lashes.
"Shall we go then?" Ely held the small, white container in both hands; she quite disliked the cold smoothness of it. It was an uncomfortable feeling, but at least it would be beneficial in the end...

The young woman nodded towards the door expectantly, beginning to walk away without him. Ely knew he would follow, and she really didn't feel like sticking around here for too much longer, so she hoped he got the gist.

Metallic voids suddenly narrowed.

Why was Ely holding onto the hospital bed? Almost…as if she was incapable of standing for that passing moment. His arms uncrossed themselves slowly as he once again gently pushed himself from the wall. Standing on his own feet with more grace than the elf had managed, the pyromaniac kept a lingering stare on the wild-haired female. By no means was his gaze intimidating or eerie, the concern lining his eyes seemed to speak volumes for itself.

Nodding to the doctor with a somewhat charming smirk, the male bid the older female a simple, “Thank you” before beginning to exit the room. Following the earth student, the male placed his hands within his pockets, his dull voids still following Ely’s movements. He hardly knew her and could not definitely distinguish the differences between abnormal and simple quirks…but he was doing his best at the moment.

Walking down the sterile hallway, the lithe male was sure to avoid speeding nurses and the various carts and such flying past him. It was rather amazing how busy a simple clinic could be. However, with a campus of probably…at least two thousand students, it was to be expected he supposed.

A sluggish pace steadily brought the male to the front counter once again where the plump nurse was already waiting to assist them. His gaze passed by her momentarily, then deviated to scanning his surroundings once again. Hospitals were such a paradox. They were a place for good…and yet no one ever wanted to be there. Those that did want to go to the hospital typically had no money and could not afford to be brought. Such a depressing state of mankind.

Oblivious to the silver-haired male’s thoughts, the plump nurse stood up with a sanguine grin. Pulling up another azure tinted screen, she pushed it towards Ely. “Here now dear, just type in your name, year, dorm number, and sign at the bottom. And if you have any problems, you just come right on back in here, okay?”

(( OOC: Sorry my post sux xD
Uuum...I'm going to let Ely lead from this point until the next morning. Because Sky doesn't know the way to her dorm and all o_O;; ))

[[OOC: Okay. Sorry if it gets a little awkward; I'm not touching Sky. xD]]

Ely sighed heavily as they made their way to the front desk; these nurses and they're strange smiling... Ely was positive her lower jaw would fall off if she had to smile this much. But maybe she just didn't have the genetics. Ignoring this thought, she signed the documents in silence.

Ely Hatter Monteblanc...Year 2...Dorm 136-B...
Signing her name below it in quirky strokes and bubbly loops, Ely smiled back at the nurse and backed away from the blue screen, nodding to her with a quick 'thanks'.

Leaving with Sky was quite a task; she was dizzy, tired from the morning's events and stressed by the sudden upheaval of touchy memories, but she also didn't want Sky to pry right now. Ely was appreciative of all his help and his words of advice... But she just needed some time to herself today.

Tomorrow would be a better day.

As the pair walked onward, Ely found that her dorm came into view a lot sooner than expected; it was basically halfway across the campus from the school's hospital, but she had been mostly absent minded throughout the walk, so she hadn't noticed the time passing. Smiling at the building, she glanced back at Sky as if to say 'this is it'.

Ely lived in the B section of the Earth complex; the difference between A and B was that they faced opposite directions. Ely's building faced towards sunset and building A faced sunrise. Veering onto the path towards her building, she led Sky along the wooded walkway and up the ascension of stairs. Her dorm room was the first on the left.

Upon reaching her the entrance to her dorm, Ely turned to the towering fire student, looking up at him with a smile. She had really appreciated his company today, even though it involved a lot of things she normally wouldn't do. He was just too strange to ignore, the elf guessed.
"Thanks for walking me here. And taking me to the clinic, too. I probably could have done it myself but y'know... It's nice not to go alone." Ely nodded. She felt so tired today, after all the calamity in the cafeteria... Ely still wondered what kind of a mess she got herself into, but she wasn't too concerned.

Ely…was not well.

Metallic eyes observed the elf through half-lidded eyelids, keeping a careful watch on the shorter female. He would not stand for her fainting in the hallways…though, he did not consider them close enough for him to be outwardly concerned. Choosing to express indifference, or perhaps just pretending not to notice, the male followed after the wild-haired female, his lips sealed for the time being.

Today had been a stressful day for the earth student. There was little wonder why she may be exhausted and perhaps even feeling enervate. In the crevices of his mind, the pyromaniac silently hoped that tomorrow would be a better day. One without crazy blondes and unwarranted fire attacks.

But then, Skyeles could only hope.

Keeping close enough to the elf so that he would be able to catch or support her should he need to, the silver-haired male kept his sluggish pace, as if he was in no hurry to any particular destination. Passing by students and scenery, the taller of the duo trained his metallic eyes to remain forward, ignoring the stares and flashes of gossip surrounding him and his new companion. People were so…savage. With their acid tongues…as if they had the right to judge.

Never having been in the earth sector of Vanishing University, Skyeles found himself momentarily enraptured. Although all wings were of the same building and the same school…each section seemed its own building…so different and unique. Encompassed by earthen tones and the relaxing scents of exotic plants, an aroma that seemed to fabricate from nothing, the pyromaniac sauntered through the maze of dormitories.

Finally, upon reaching the elf’s room, Skyeles paused at the doorway, not about to allow himself inside. He needed time to himself…and perhaps Ely did as well. “All in a day’s work.” Responded the male with his typical impish smirk, his hands sliding casually into their respective pockets. Jerking his head to the side in order to rid his features of silver tresses, the male suddenly locked his eyes with those of brilliant verdant. “Now, if you don’t mind…I just need to do one thing before I leave.”

Advancing towards the female until they were only breaths apart, the male lowered his head down to meet Ely’s. Slowly, though lacking in hesitance, the male placed his forehead gently against the female’s his golden circlet meeting her cool skin in a butterfly kiss. Pressing the golden ornament to Ely, Skyeles closed his eyes momentarily as the metal seemed to rise in temperature…all in the space of a beat. For within seconds, the male had straightened back to his full height and was backing away with a slight smirk on his face.

“Now, sleep well…I’m sure we’ll be seeing each other again soon.” With that said, the pyromaniac turned to leave, the faint scent of burning incense drifting in his wake.

When the silver-haired fire student leaned in, she felt her breath catch in her throat and she screwed her eyes shut tight. Pure reaction; her hands balled up by her jaw and she froze in her spot, unsure of what was going on.. However, when she felt unusually warm metal brush her forehead, she peeked up at him, just in itme to see him back away.

What on earth had he done...?
Reaching up to brush at the spot he'd touched, she watched the male saunter away curiously.... Leaving behind an enticing scent. It was warm... And rich. Blinking slowly she felt her lips twitch up in a confused smile before shaking her head and retiring to her room for the night.

*~*~*~*

The bright-eyed youth huffed quickly, looking around her messy home; books were scattered everywhere, papers were strewn here and there, and there were piles and piles of boxes, some open, some half opened, and a few of them not even touched. Ely pouted at the realization that she really needed to get the mess organized... But she hated doing it, so she would most likely never get around to it.

She grinned however at the realization that she could have Sky help her if he lost the bet... Giggling deviously, Ely adjourned to her bathroom, the cleanest room of the dorm she occupied.

After washing up, Ely applied the burn ointment; it had been a hassle to take a decent shower, since the water had...well, burned her burns, but she sucked it up anyway, preferring not to have scars. She tenderly applied bandages of elven material, specific for covering up wounds but not suffocating them, sitting on her bed. The elf's fingers fell away from the last bandage and she stared out the window with wide eyes. Ely's expression seemed distant, as the gears in her mind worked on overdrive, replaying old scenes over and over again...
But all of a sudden a smiled colored her bland expression as a new memory came to mind. Her hands tingled, her otherwise rosy cheeks lighting up with color at the memory of recent events.

Ely laughed at herself for her wandering thoughts, louder than she had all day.

Tomorrow would definitely be better.

*~*~*~*

"Ughhhhhhhhhh..." Ely groaned, dragging herself out of bed. It was too early... Of course, this was how early she always woke up, but this morning she felt particularly bum-like. Dragging herself out of her warm resting place, she scooted off to the bathroom, allowing herself to dredge about like a zombie.

Glancing at herself in the mirror, Ely rolled her eyes at the reflection before turning on the shower; she'd had a shower just hours ago, but...she felt like taking another. It couldn't hurt.
Removing her bandages, she pouted at the mess of white on her arms. Too afraid to touch it and 'cause potential pain, she just washed off the ointment in the shower, delighted at the realization that it had all healed up.

The wild-haired elf left her dorm room at 6 a.m. promptly, headed off towards the cafeteria; she never really ate breakfast, but she enjoyed being there in the mornings. It was always warm and fairly busy, and usually smelled pleasant. Ely grinned at this thought, amused by her thin reasoning; most people would rather sleep in, but Ely chose to get up before the crack of dawn to traipse in the dark to the cafeteria...because it was warm, busy, and smelled nice? Hmm.

Ely's smile faded slowly as she found herself on the tree-lined pathway in front of her building; it was dark still, and she found herself very...alone. Still having Sky's words in mind from the day before, she bit her lip. She really shouldn't be alone... Especially not in the dark with the majority of the campus being asleep...

But Samantha wouldn't possibly be hounding for her at six in the morning would she...?

Ely shuddered, picking up the pace towards the cafeteria, wishing she weren't so alone...

“Hurry up girls! We’ve only got two more miles to go!”

Huffing and puffing, panting and moaning could be heard as a stampede of feet thundered on the grass carpeted earth. Hair swishing this way and that while aching legs were barely able to take another step, a group of runners could be seen heading Ely’s way. And who should be leading them…but Samantha Wheeler herself.

Adorned in mini shorts of crimson red, uniform to all the exercising cheerleaders, the blonde was proud of the athletic build of her slender legs. Exposing her creamy white arms, Samantha donned only a sports bra and a white tank top, having little sense for modesty…as always. Azure eyes were lit with the fire of competition as even within her own ranks, she strived to be the best…better than everyone else. She made sure she was the superior…how else could she have the authority to command them to her will?

“Hurry up Margaret! You need to burn calories from all the food you ate yesterday!”

Laughter expelled from the mass of some fifteen to twenty girls as the girl, Margaret, turned a bright shade of scarlet. Laughing hardest of all, was the pompous blonde herself, grinning in a self-satisfied manner. However, her attention was diverted when her azure gaze glanced upon a lone figure ambling down the pathway. Picking up some speed, the blonde narrowed her eyes, attempting to recognize this figure…wild-hair, average build…near the earth building…

Blinking in rapid succession, the head cheerleader’s face went into shock, before crumbling to an expression of fury. “Girls…” Turning her head to throw her voice to her rallied troops, the blue-eyed devil spoke curtly. “Go on without me. I’ll meet you in the gym at seven sharp.” Azure eyes flashed dangerously and all the girls nodded, following her orders without question. Pausing only a moment to take a breath, the female veered off from the path she had originally been treading and ran straight towards Ely.

Sunset rising to greet the formidable pair, the sugar-coated blonde was ready to start her day with contention, with a fight. This girl…had ruined her. Her reputation was nearly completely shattered…and she simply had to teach this girl a lesson about opposing her superiors. Reaching up a dainty hand, Samantha made a move to push Ely from her back, a force strong enough to bring the elf to her knees, but hardly enough to do her any real harm.

Jogging in place for a moment beside Ely, the cheerleader’s panting became evident as her narrowed gaze remained solely on the second year student. Decreasing the rate of her stationary gait, the female sauntered to stand in front of the earth student, her chest heaving from the strenuous exercise. However, though sweat ran down the side of her cheek, her make-up was perfectly in place. Lashes were longer than humanly possible as black eyeliner accentuated her large eyes. Blood red lips framed her white teeth…as a vampire’s lips are when ready to strike a victim.
Placing a hand on a shapely hip, the female stood in Ely’s way in a defiant pose, as if not willing to allow her passage. “Well, well…look what we have here.” Wicked lips curved into a demonic smile. For all her physical beauty…Samantha was one of those rare creatures that was purely black inside. “A little insect that needs to be squashed.”

Fully adorned in his school uniform, Skyeles stood in Mr. Collins classroom, addressing the teacher with a straight posture and an only slightly lifted head. Arriving even before the scheduled hour for the meeting with his teacher, as any decent solider would, the pyromaniac proceeding to explain the events of yesterday, relaying detail after detail. Bedroom eyes regarded the superior with apathy while his rose petal lips moved in an almost robotic fashion. “…then she noticed Ely, the earth student, and proceeded to attack her.”

Raising a thick brow, the human teacher offered a look of disbelief to his pupil. “Surely she would not have attacked without some form of provocation.”

Pausing for a beat, the four year slowly continued speaking, his tone unhesitant though cautious. “The cause of her provocation is entirely my fault, Sir. She has…had an unhealthy obsession with me since I transferred into this school, and in trying to dissuade her from courting me…I pretended Ely was my girlfriend. So you can see, she has nothing to do with this argument. She cannot be punished.”

Half sitting on his desk in the front of the classroom, Mr. Collins deviated his gaze towards the floor, seeming to be deep in thought. Pursing his lips together for a moment, the somewhat elderly man glanced up at the student standing before him, feeling a sense of uselessness within the crevices of his heart. “I wish the situation were only that simple Mr. Caelizer…”

Knitting his brow together, the male’s expression transformed to that of confusion. “What…are you saying, Sir?”

Inhaling deeply, the teacher pushed up his glasses before beginning to speak in his deep voice. “Miss Samantha Wheeler…is a special case within the grounds of this university…”

Ely glanced behind her when she heard the stampede heading her way; her sensitivity towards the earth had picked up just barely on strikes upon the ground, like taps on the soles of her feet. The elf could only wince when she saw their leader, walking closer to the shadows so as to be unnoticed.

However, when the minute taps receded, save for one small tremor, she realized that someone was getting closer... And she had a pretty good idea who that someone was. Even so, Ely was too slow to realize that she needed to move, and so she was sent sprawling forwards.

Ely's hands gripped tightly to her books as she went down on her side; the shorter of the gave a quiet yelp as she hit the dirt path hard, rocks and pebbles jabbing her in the arm and side, something cutting her elbow.

Sky...!

She let go of her books quickly though, standing with a glare only for the fourth-year.

"And a big-headed whore who needs to get over herself." Ely shot back sourly in quick succession of Samantha's taunt. The little elf braced herself for an impending attack; Samantha was provenly crazy, and she could do anything at anytime. However, Ely had to smirk at her a little.

"You're dumber than you look, harassing me on my 'turf', so to speak." Ely grinned a little, still keeping her defense up. On the surface, she appeared playfully cautious, but her insides were working hard, her mind all spinning gears.

Sky... I hope you were serious yesterday.... Because I need you NOW.

Collagen filled lips formed a small “O” of shock in response to the harsh words spoken by the elf, baby blue eyes widening in unpleasant surprise. Soon enough however, the blonde’s features returned to an expression of loathing, her feelings lining her words with acid. “How dare you say that to me!”

Brushing a locket of her golden tresses away from her make-up caked face, the head cheerleader spoke in a haughty tone. “Do you have any idea who you’re talking to?”

- - - - -

“You see Mr. Caelizer...” Rising from his seat, Mr. Collins began to speak, his voice barely above a whisper. However, his words carried throughout the room, weighted with authority. “Miss Wheeler was born to a family that was otherwise barren…she is an only child to one of the richest men within this galaxy. She always received whatever it was that she wanted. She has never in her life been humiliated or felt embarrassed. Never has anything been withheld from her grasp.”

Turning away from the pyromaniac, the elder man made a half circle around his rectangular desk, his destination being a comfortable appearing, ebony leather seat. Plopping himself into his seat, the teacher returned his gaze to the silver-haired male, peering over his thick glasses. “Except for now that is.”

Something akin to a smirk spread itself across the aging man’s bearded face, as if he found secret amusement in this situation. “It would appear Mr. Caelizer…that you have been made to be Miss Wheeler’s next target. And allow me to assure you, her reputation of conquests is well known to me…there has not been a student or teacher she has set her sight on and failed to seduce.”

Pausing to allow the information to sink in, the teacher carefully observed his student. Skyeles Caelizer was not anything particularly special as far as students went. There had been several of his type that walked in and out of his classroom for years. However, it would appear that this new pupil of his…was proving to be of a different breed. Unsure exactly how as of yet, Mr. Collins grinned within…it was about time someone put Samantha Wheeler in her place.

“Despite her wrongs, there simply is nothing that we administrators can do to discipline her. You see…her father literally owns half of this university. If she wanted to, she has the power to expel any student…which is why I worry for your Earth friend…Ely, was it?” His expression turning solemn, the older of the two inhaled and exhaled deeply, the air calming his feelings somewhat. Years ago, this topic would have enraged him…now, he appeared to be a beaten dog, losing hope in system called “Justice.”

“Sir…” Words fell from his rose petal lips as a gentle stream, the tone breathy but different than how he spoke to others. There was a reverence there…a sign of respect for this older man, expressed just in his manner of speaking. “Forgive me for questioning you, but if I may…” Dull silver voids looked up to meet his teacher’s muddy brown orb. Once confident that his instructor was not offended by his speech, the pyromaniac continued. “All that you’ve explained to me is good…but that does not excuse her irrational behavior.”

An almost sardonic chuckle escaped from the teacher’s lips as he shook his head. “No, no it does not Mr. Caelizer…all I can tell you is that…there are some people in this world that are truly evil…truly brutal…without care for anyone other than themselves. In my four years of watching this flower grow…I have yet to see any blossoms, only thorns. She has never experienced hardships before…and it most probably frustrates her that you refuse to yield to her—“

Skyeles did not rudely interrupt his teacher on purpose, for not a word escaped from his sultry lips. However, his bedroom eyes suddenly widened and his posture shivered as if suddenly cold…his gaze turned away as he seemed to be listening to a voice only he could hear. Blinking in rapid succession, the younger male shook his head as an expression of frustration crossed his otherwise blank face. Turning to his teacher, the male spoke with respect, but with a sense of urgency. “Mr. Collins…I don’t mean to be rude…but it’s Ely. I think Samantha’s giving her trouble. I need to leave. Do I have your permission?”

Lips set in a grim line, the older male nodded his head before speaking quickly. “Go. However, I want you to come to my classroom every morning, five AM sharp for your detention. I cannot allow your offenses to Samantha to go unchecked unless I want Hell to be raised.”

Nodding once, the silver-haired male spoke curtly. “Understood. Permission to use a transportation spell?”

Raising a hand and sweeping it lazily in the air, the teacher shrugged, his gesture intending to express his openness. “By all means. If you’re capable of doing so without shredding yourself into hundreds of pieces.”

“Thank you, Sir.” Nodding once and offering a small bow of his head, the male repeated an incantation within his mind…though from the glow of his golden circlet…the power he used did not seem entirely his own.

- - - - -

A heated breeze encircled both Samantha and Ely for but a moment…then, within a blink of an eye, the pyromaniac stood before both females, an expression of displeasure dominating his features. His silver gaze swiftly scanned the situation, his lips set in a grim line. He could see the crimson liquid trickling from Ely’s cut elbow…the dirt now staining her clothes. Had there been a scuffle?

“Samantha…” His tone was unmerciful and frigid to the core. “What do you think you’re doing?”

Baby blue spheres had expressed only surprise at the sudden appearance of her quarry, her feet taking a few steps back from where she once stood. A hand rising to her golden tresses, the female blinked a number of times before finding her sugar-coated voice once more. Brushing back her hair, the fire student smiled while she spoke. “Why Sky…you surprised me. What do you mean what am I doing here? You know I go jogging every morning around the school campus.” Pouting her lips and striking a new pose, the female seemed perfectly ready to flirt with the pyromaniac, batting her thick lashes slowly and seductively.

Argh…wasn’t it too early in the morning for this kind of drama?

Ely was about to snap back at the blonde when all of a sudden, the source of Samantha's problem and affection appeared before them both; the warm breeze lasted for a brief second, disappearing with Sky's appearance, and Ely's jaw dropped slightly.

He had come.

But... How?
Ely shuddered slightly as an odd chill ran up her spine, and she couldn't help but give him an oddly confused half smile before glancing at the unruly female across from her. She probably wouldn't expend the energy it would take to brutalize the earth student this early in the morning, so Ely relaxed a very small bit, sighing under her breath. Whatever it was that had called Sky to them, Ely was grateful for... The elf subconsciously brushed the back of her hand against her forehead where the circlet had touched just yesterday.

She wondered...

Deciding not to get caught up in her thoughts at the moment, Ely quickly gathered her books and took a step back. Examining her scuffed arm and elbow, she huffed quietly; hopefully Sky didn't take it upon himself to send her to the clinic. Again. The burn incident was admittedly an okay excuse to go, but Ely didn't want to become a familiar there... She could take care of most of her own wounds, especially minor cuts and bruises.

Although she didn't particularly like them.

Glancing back up at the pair before her, Ely tuned into the conversation once more, pushing aside all thoughts of cuts and confusion. Watching the two before her argue was strange; she felt like such an oddball, all wrapped up in business that wasn't her own. However, she felt compelled to stay involved, as if backing out would be hurtful to the situation. Like she was needed for some odd reason.
Even so, she didn't think it would do too much damage to just go back to her dorm room and find a bandage and maybe a change of clothes...

“Why would I know that you go jogging in the morning?”

Rose petal lips spat out the words, like a cat hissing at the threat of water. Silver tresses were caught up in a breeze, causing his gaze to be slightly obscured…but even Samantha was not so dense as to be oblivious to his cold stare. His eyes, gray like rainy day clouds, remained hard as rocks…and just as brutal.

“Because I told you silly! Remember—“

Raising a hand dismissively, the mock prince’s slender digits at first remained outstretched before slowly clenching into a fist and cascading to his side, causing the female to also fall into silence. Sun rising behind him, the male’s features were masked somewhat in shadow, though his expression was unmistakable. He was not pleased with the situation…and he was not happy. Parting his lips to speak in his breathy tone, the male was unexpectedly cut off by the cheerleader, her eyes staring at him imploringly, Ely all but forgotten by this time.

“Sky…I’m willing to forget all about yesterday, I didn’t mean to make such a scene. You’ll forgive me won’t you?” Pouty lips were set perfectly on an adorable face as azure eyes seemed to become glassy with unshed tears. Peering at the silver-haired male from beneath thick lashes, the female placed her hands behind her back, posing as a small child would. Interesting…for all her talents, Skyeles had never numbered acting as one of them. She was rather convincing, he might have fallen for it…had he not been totally disgusted with her by this point in time.

“I’ll forgive people that deserve to be forgiven. Now get the hell out of here, and next time you go jogging or whatever…” Here, the male paused, as if he wanted his words to have a dramatic emphasis. Really, he simply wanted this woman to understand him without any mistake. Penetrating her with his silver voids, the male spoke slowly, deliberately, and nearly threateningly…all within the tone of his voice. “You do not want to be where she is…because I will know. And I will avenge your trespasses.”

Straightening her back as her eyes suddenly hardened with displeasure, the blonde’s lips were twisted into a frown while her cheeks gained a reddish hue. Embarrassed and flustered, the fire student gapped her mouth open and close several times before finally releasing a banshee scream. “I was trying to be nice and this is how you repay me?” Deviating her gaze to the elf, Samantha glared at her with a heated stare, lacking all form of human kindness within her aura. Slowly however, loathing melted from her gaze as she steadily took steps towards the second year student, her eyes half-lidded while her lips twitched in a secret smile.

“Did you ever think that maybe I just wanted to be…friends?” Approaching the elf with all the demeanor of a wolf stalking prey deer, the blonde reached the other with her hands resting on her shapely hips. Bending her head so that her face was only breaths away from the shorter female, Samantha spoke quietly, in a manner she was sure Skyeles could not hear her. “Little witch…you’ll be hearing from me again. Count on it…and be ready. But don’t you dare tell Sky…unless you want something bad to happen.”

Pulling away from their proximity with a mask of a smile, the blonde giggled as if she had just told Ely a hilarious joke, her manicured hands covering her lips. “Let’s be friends okay?” Turning to the pyromaniac with a roll of her eyes and a sickening smile, the female spoke with her sugar-sweet voice. “I don’t know what you’re so worked up about. We were just chit-chatting. You know…girl talk.”

Kissing her hand and blowing the silver-haired male a kiss, the female giggled and winked flirtatiously, “I’ll see you in class, Handsome.” With that, the female began jogging away, speeding away with surprising speed. If anything was true about the female, she was an athlete…that could not be denied.

Silver irises watched the azure eyed female leave, feeling no lose at her departure. As her form became infinitely small however, the male released a sigh while brushing strands of metallic tresses from his pale features. Blinking slowly and turning his gaze to Ely, the male offered a weak smirk. “Sometimes I wonder how we got into this situation.” Inhaling deeply, the fire student turned to face the other, his eyes rolling over her body and checking for any bodily damage caused by the blonde cheerleader. “I’m beginning to get the feeling she really doesn’t like you.” Returning his gaze to verdant orbs, the pyromaniac allowed his lips to form an impish grin. Despite the events of the morning, he was all too ready for playtime.

Ely watched Samantha warily, hugging her books tighter as the blonde approached her. Being around her was uncomfortable enough, seeing as the cheerleader had some strange vendetta against her, but now her personal space was being invaded... The elf could almost feel the hatred as the vicious fourth year leaned in, causing Ely to lean back and glare with the intensity of any fire student.

Something bad would happen?
Psh. Ely almost rolled her eyes; it may have been stupid, but it would have been worth it. The little elf didn't feel afraid of Samantha by any stretch, but she wasn't stupid, either; Samantha could definitely hurt Ely if she had the chance.

As the girl turned away from Ely to saunter past Sky, the Earth student habitually stuck her tongue out, reeling it back in quickly, in case she turned around; which didn't happen. Her unwarranted flirting and sickeningly sugary laughter cause the elf to shudder; it was such a terrible sound to the elf for some reason, as if two cars were colliding at breakneck speeds... But it didn't last long, for the scantily clad Samantha was soon running away with unnecessary triumph. At this, Ely did roll her eyes.

Sky's shift caught her attention though and she looked to him now; her features tinged with a crimson stain as she realized her was surveying her scuffed clothes and arm. It wasn't all that bad, really, but she still hoped he wouldn't take it upon himself to take her to the clinic. Again. Although it was nice of him to do so yesterday.

About to open her mouth and wave his gaze away, she stopped as he spoke, listening intently. Indeed, Ely wondered how she had wound up in this bizarre dilemma... Even so, at least she wasn't dealing with it alone. Her touchy thoughts were washed away as Sky grinned, and Ely burst into a bright grin as well, laughing out loud. The elf covered her mouth as it echoed and she covered her mouth for a moment, revealing the same bright grin as before.

"I thought that was obvious?" Ely beamed at him with a curious look.

She quickly shifted emotions, from something silly to childishly curious; how had he heard her? Known when and where to show up? Subconsciously brushing her forehead where his circlet had done so the day before, her eyes widened. Ely mentally flicked through a number of options as to what could be the answer, Coincidence, telepathy or psychic means... Hmm. Deciding to test one method, since she wouldn't look like an idiot, she tilted her head. Ely gave Sky a vague smile as she thought to herself for a moment.

Sky...can you hear me?

This was not a fairy tale.

Flashing through his mind in grim remembrance of reality, the pyromaniac dismissed the thought from his mind…though it left a pain within his chest at its wake. Inhaling the crisp, fresh air, the male sealed his lips for the time being, unwilling to share his useless ideas with the elf female. He really did need to stop contemplating so terribly much.

Decision made, Skyeles took graceful and calculated steps until he was standing at Ely’s side, his proximity surprisingly not so invading. “Well, let’s go.” His voice was not lacking in his typical sleepy drawl, his tone dismissive and breathy. “I’ll escort you to class...I don’t want to give Samantha the chance to harass you again.” Gesturing with a pale hand, the fourth year began a lazy saunter, in no hurry to return to the university’s main education buildings. At this rate, depending on the time Ely’s class started…she might be late.

His features retained a calm and surprisingly relaxed expression as the gentle breeze caught his silver tresses in an elegant dance. Winter was beginning to set in, hints of Jack Frost in the biting air. Leaves an array of colors, not unlike a painter’s canvass, Skyeles was pleased to observe the trees transform from season to season. Brittle brown leaves were scattered across the pair’s pathway, the last of yellow and red clinging to their branches. Within the next two weeks, they would probably witness the first flurries of snow, especially if they travelled up to the mountains. What a delightful adventure that would be…

“I have to go to detention at five AM every morning,” the male commented off-handedly, his tone implying his dislike to the idea. “It’ll probably be a waste of an hour every day…but maybe if you’re there…it would be worth my while.” Passing the female a wicked glance, his lips twitched upwards in a devilish smirk, his implications both innocent and sinister. Though, his invitation was undeniable…why he would want her to tag along however, was a mystery.

Picking up his pace only ever so slightly as to walk ahead of the female in an almost challenging way, the male sauntered in a straight line. Treading the dirt path with a model’s walk, the silver-eyed male tucked his hands safely in his pockets, the breeze waltzing with strands of metal. His stare was penetrating, even intimidating when he desired it to be. His touch was scorching like his personality, all too much like a fire…although, there was the unmistakable warmth that provided life to be possible. A bittersweet emotion…a contradiction all within itself. However, none of this compared to his siren call. His voice of sweet-nothings that seemed to promise the world with just a breath…

His voice it sounded like…though it was spoken in such a whisper that it was entirely possible that Ely had just imagined the words herself. So quiet and wispy that it was barely audible unless being searched for.

…Always.

And the scent of burning incense was carried off by the wind.

Ely gave him an odd look when he suggested she join him in detention every morning, although it was not a look of refusal. Matching his pace, the wild-haired elf glanced over at the fire-student and smiled thoughtfully. She had all but forgotten her scraped up elbow and dirtied clothes as she ran through some early-morning scenarios, walking along the scenic path.

She glanced over head as a breeze blew around her darkening waves of umber and sable; she felt the damp of wintry precipitation permeate to her bones. It would rain soon enough, Ely deduced. Soon the playful autumn leaves would become slick and nearly immobile as they clung to the earth. Eventually, the colors would all fade to brown, returning to the earth to shoot up fresh and green in the spring... Ely smiled as she contemplated the cycle of the earth.

However, her attention was once again cut short as Sky's voice reached her. Vaguely, though... Ely wasn't sure if he had said it aloud or if she were imagining things. Even so, she halted, eyes wide and fixated upon the silver-haired youth. Her expression softened immeasurably with a distant gleam to them. Soft lips half parted, Ely sucked in a quick breath, hitched, but not sharp.

Every nerve in her body seemed to suddenly alight with quivering as her mind raced faster than it had in a long time.

Old memories resurfaced, but with a different feeling this time. Her skin felt cold, remembering her father's touch, and her heart gave a hard thud at the memory of his last words to her, but she didn't feel the pain. No, this was an entirely different feeling, as her heart skipped the next beat.

Perhaps...perhaps...
Ely felt her pace begin again, sluggish this time; she seemed to be drifting towards Sky, rather than walking. The wild-haired elf eyed the Fire student as she came ever nearer, brilliantly verdant orbs boring intensely through silver ones as if searching for something. The Earth student came to a halt beside him once again, watching him as she remembered how to speak.

The little second-year furrowed her brows warily as she continued to bore holes in search of something, her tongue playing against her teeth as she found her will to speak. Her heart seemed to rush, pushing blood through her veins faster and causing her ears to ring; if he were to speak now, Ely wasn't exactly positive she would hear him...

"Sky... H-...Would....y-you..."Ely winced slightly and looked away as her words rapidly sounded useless to her. Choking back her silly ideas, and smiling half-heartedly, she faced him once again, scanning metallic voids again for something, anything... The wild-haired elf glanced away again to study the dirt, as if it were particularly interesting.

"S-sorry I'm being so weird today... It's early, I suppose..." she breathed shakily. Ely shuddered slightly, toeing a loose pebble idly as she feebly recovered her composure.

It wasn't possible... She had known him for less than two days. The elf couldn't cast her hopes on anything, no matter how enticing. It wasn't any ones' responsibility to be any kind of faithful to her, and Ely did not care to dream on coincidences... Humans were fickle things, so there was no point in asking this human to be different. Her father had never come, never answered her thoughts. Why would Sky have done so...? Ely was just past an acquaintance. To believe that he could have possibly heard her and cared enough to come was an outrageous stretch of the imagination in her opinion.

Ely remembered his penetrating gaze the day before, however. He'd seemed so serious, so intense... He had been truthful it seemed. But even so...

It's not possible... He can't hear me.

And she buried the old memories once more.
Turning away, Ely walked onwards, ahead of Sky, huffing quietly; it was too early for this. Today would be a good day. Somehow.

"I'll come with you to your detention then. If you're serious."

Sensing the steps beside him coming to a halt, the male’s legs ceased in motion as well. Turning his silver-crowned head and tilting it backwards to gaze at the elf other in a somewhat awkward but snake-like movement, metallic irises focused on the wild-haired second year, a brow rising towards his hairline. His questioning glance went unaccompanied by words as his lips seemed to shift from a slight smirk to an apathetic line, and he only untwisted his body when Ely began ambling once again.

If he was aware of her weary thoughts, he made no notion of it. Curbing his tongue, silence enveloped him in an aura of mystery. Even if Ely were brave enough to inquire about the voice she had heard…he probably would not have answered. Although rather open of his secret life, within his eyes was a past never mentioned and rarely thought of. Perhaps Ely did not know this pyromaniac long enough to see such darkness in his dull voids…but in time…in time…

Anything could happen. Dare he hope?

When the female stopped walking once again, Skyeles ceased his saunter as well, however this time he turned to fully face the other, delivering to her his undivided attention. Initially raising a brow in curiosity of her thoughts, the fourth year met her intent gaze, blinking slowly with uncurled lips. Swirling depths of liquid metal pools seemed to invite the lively forest orbs into their depths, as if daring…challenging Ely to attempt in deciphering the dark cloud shrouding him. Although it was typically his stare that was searching and penetrating, for the time being, he allowed the female to inspect him, his lips unmoving with a sense of solemnity.

As Ely pulled away her gaze, the pyromaniac kept his on the wild mass of amble and sable tresses, a light smirk crossing his flawless features. Taking the ginger steps of a dancer toward the female, Skyeles combed pale digits through some of the female’s hair, fixing them slightly with his touch while speaking softly. “You’re cute when you’re confused.”

Pulling away slowly, almost appearing reluctant, the pyromaniac gazed at the female with his bedroom, half-lidded eyes, a slight smirk caressing his features. “Come on, if we don’t hurry, you and I might be late to class. And then you’d have to go to your own detention instead of mine.” Tucking his hands once again into his pockets, the male continued, “And I know how goody-two-shoes like you don’t like to be late.” Ending with his light jab, the male began walking down the pathway once again, heading towards Vanishing University’s main education buildings.

It was a new day…a new beginning. If today was not wonderfully brilliant, there was always tomorrow. One of them, someday…one of them would turn out to be the good day Ely was searching for.

Metal clashed against his pale skin as one of his innumerable lighters was passed effortlessly through his fingers in a dance well practiced to perfection. Standing in front of the Earth student’s dormitories, a familiar, tall and lanky figure could be seen. Fall’s more bitter of breezes were beginning to take their last breathes, becoming more harsh in their endeavor to survive…however, of course…Winter would make an entrance soon enough.

Tresses of metal swayed all about him, seeming to waltz with Aeolus as if they were familiar partners. It never seemed to tangle or fall out of place…despite all the chaos that ensued, Skyeles remained immaculate.

Liquid metal irises gazed about lazily, occasionally flickering towards the entrance to the adjacent building, though no impatience lining his features. An arm wrapped around his torso while the other rested on it while remaining outstretched, the male fought to repress a yawn…this school business was somewhat tiring.

Realizing that he had never exactly said, “Yes, Ely, I would like for you to come to detention for me!”…he figured she would have interpreted that from his statement yesterday. She would come…he was confident of it. While it was not arrogance that fueled such a thought, he could not repress the certainty harbored in his cold heart. He just…knew.

Thus…it was here, in the biting cold he waited. And he did not mind waiting in the least.
