Alexandrake Most of my male friends are straight -while I in fact am not. It's all a matter of opinion and how they where raised. Sometimes -not all the time. Many of the homophobes that I have had the unpleasantness of meeting, shared the same views as their parents. And to tell the truth, most of the homophobes that I do know, are female. probably cause of religion or they are also mad that the hot gay guys will never be able love them.

yeah, i see what yoiur saying but i honestly don't understand the word 'homophobic' like...does that me your afraid of gay people???
its just stupid, and unfair
and what people don't realize its almost the same thing as being racist
if you really think about it you hate someone on there sexual preference!?!?
thats just unfair in my opinion
and a lot of guys like lesbians just because its girl on girl
it makes no sense but hey, it is what it is

Personally, I don't think that's true, but I also think it depends on where you are. I live in a fairly conservative state, where most people believe in old school teachings and Bible thumping leaders are a big thing. Sadly, at the high school I went to , there was no Gay/Straight alliance, mainly because of the hate for people of other sexualities would make it near impossible to form one. However, when I participated in the Day of Silence, I found most, if not all of my teachers were very understanding, though, I can't say the same for the student body. I believe it's where you come from, as well as the mentality behind it.

My brother has a lot of guy friends, and they're of the opinion that gay guys are disgusting, but gay chicks are awesome.

Yeah! What is with that? It's annoying, and terribly hypocritical.
It's because in this society, a man enjoying or even not minding the sight of two men kissing or being intimate is automatically labeled as homosexual, while a woman enjoying two girls doing the same thing is "sexy". There's also the fact that men tend to be very visual oriented, and woman tend to be more aesthetically pleasing, so watching two girls be sexual with each other is just more attractive to them. Well, the straight ones at least.
