Ugh. They've been cutting hours at work lately. I got sent home at noon instead of staying until 2:30 like I usually do.

I don't know what to do with myself for the rest of the day xp

I find that mining my trouser pockets for lint that I use to continuously weave a blanket large enough to cover the Earth passes the time nicely. Now you know the truth behind both nighttime and global warming.

Seriously, though, that sucks.

The whole situtation is scary. It's like a world wide pandemic without the death.

Just read about the Yahoo layoffs...that's pretty serious. 10% of their workforce!

I'm going to have to live pretty frugally until my next paycheck...getting low. sad Ironic thing is that I need to buy clothes for work....

I'm probably going to end up throwing my Xbox and my Iron Man statue on Ebay sad . I really don't want to. Not only because I don't want to get rid of them (actually, I could care less about the Xbox these days), but I hate dealing with Ebay's nonsense. It's a headache on top of a headache, it is.

I thought the sun set because it was intimidated by my brilliance...

You mean that isn't the case?!

Funny you should mention selling things - I was reading an article on "how to cope" during the recession - and it listed selling things on ebay. Personally, it's better NOT to sell things unless you're really, really desperate. It's times like this when you'll get the worst possible price.
Still, if it's the differences between paying the bills and not...then I guess there's no other solution.

Today's newspaper said that Australia is "over" the worst.
*laughs, then starts to cry*
Yeah, right. Wait until China and India start turning away our resources (ie in 12 months time). I think that we (as a country) haven't quite hit bottom of this down turn.

So far, it hasn't effected me much. I was/am near broke already. Due to medical issues, I can't work much. My parents are helping with my rent, I am on medicare for meds, etc. I don't really SHOP for anything but groceries, and thrift store clothes right now.

But I am worried. Because if things get to where I can't do THAT... or where my PARENTS can't help me because THEY are in trouble too... scary times are ahead.

I filled up my gas tank with a mere 20 dollars the other day! Is this the twilight zone?!

I know, it's terrible, isn't it!?
While I might sound sarcastic, I'm not - yep, it's nice to have things a little cheaper, but the harsh reality is that the oil price is just one indication that the work economy is not having a good run at the moment. It's not just one country, but MANY countries and millions of people in financial ruin.

yes, it´s really strange at the last days.
our gas prizes fell down, too. another strange thing happened with our milk we had a big milk- crisis in germany because the farmers wahted more money for their work. so the prizes for milk-products growed. it was at this summer, my family loves milk so it hit us very hard that we had to pay nearly the double for butter and over 30 Cents more for milk.
yesterday i went out buying some food and the milk prize was at the old prize back again ! i bought as much milk as i could carry.
