I had a horrible time with school in elementary school. I got a lot of nasty comments for what I wore, and had a first grade teacher who hated me for knowing how to add, subtract, and write my name prettily.
So, I learned how to tune it all out, and become unnoticed. In middle school everyone assumed I was a druggie. It pissed me off, but we had such ugly uniforms, I couldn't bear to work with them, and wore the same stuff everyday, except for my plethera of jewelry and dyed hair.
High school was like a dream. I finally wore what I wanted, and dressed up almost everyday, and then for sophomore through senior year, I got into a public art highschool. It was better than I could have dreamed, and so many people were always curious where I got the stuff I wore. (I made it.)
It was so nice coming out of a depressing childhood school experience into a much happier atmosphere.

Winter Black
Blacklipstick815; I kinda know how you feel... My boufriend has been accused of keeping a shotgun in his locker (they even arrested him and sent him to jail in another city, without even checking his locker to see if it was there!) and other things... Like his teacher lost a text book that was signed out in his name, and he was the one they said had to pay for it. Or the time his walkman was stolen, they said "How do we know you didn't steal it in the first place?", and yet it was a Christmas gift from his mother, I saw him open it! With all that bullshit, I'm surprised he even graduated at all, let alone two years too late.

I myself was constantly ridiculed, and treated badly by both students and faculty at school, when my mom actually allowed me to attend.
I had always been different. They had the perfect programs for me in Toronto. They stuck me in something known as "Choice's" here in Barrie. Basically, if I behaved myself all week, I got to spend the last half of Friday playing games.
I was never a trouble-maker in the first place. I was just ahead of my class. I was smart, so they stuck me in a trouble-makers class. (Actually, that school, 3rd Grade, Andrew Hunter, is where I met Jade, my boyfriend. Like, 10 years ago. XD)
After I left that school, they kept sticking me in classes for slow kids. Which really annoyed my mom.
At West Bayfield, the Principal hated me. Mainly because I was able to beat him with both logic and common sense, and because I dressed Gothic. By the time I left that school, they'd not only forced me into the slow kids class, but stuck me on mornings only, and I was STILL done my week's worth of work by the time Wednesday rolled around... rolleyes So I would get in trouble for having nothing to do. I would get in trouble for finishing my work too fast! ><;;

So yeah, I've gotten in trouble for a lot of things for being different.

ive gotten yelled at for being a fast worker, as well. if i finish before everyone else, the teacher gets on my case how i must've done it wrong or somehow cheated. its not my fault that everyone else is slower than me. as far as the slow classes, i never used to put effort into school, so i never knew i was smart. i was in some slow classes until my one teacher decided to IQ test me. i got into the gifted program for middle school and im on average level now.

I'm sorry to hear about all you guys. The most I ever got was cat-calls and being shoved into lockers and getting punched in the face by my best friend.

I actually moved to a different school district this year, and went from being the social outcast, to being admired for having the guts to wear what I wear. I'm always getting questions about wether my piercings hurt(bad lolita, bad!) and enthusiastic questions of "where did you get that?" "oh my gawd you made that! wow." It's nice. Sure, I get stared at by a few those silly reproduced people who are just jealous because they aren't unique, but they otherwise don't bother me.

I think that's what it is, mostly. Just plain jealously. They know they're photocopies, and anyone who has the guts to be different must be destroyed.

I went to this one school (I had a dress code so I didn't dress gothic and lolita) but we were going on a trip and say we could invite a friend (she was goth too) and they said she couldn't go if she dressed that was cause they said it was "evil" I thought it was unfair of them to think and say that that I didn't go on the trip

I get called a satanist from time to time... and I'm always getting called a freak at school every once in a while... and for some reason ever since I went EGL my uncle thinks I'm going to turn out to be a serieal killer(I can't even stand the thought of animals being killed even for food, so how the heck am I supposed to turn out to be a serieal killer?)... but outside of that I've never really beeb bothered about the way I dress.

I get a lot of compliments on my style. People will aske me where I get the stuff I wear, and they'll be really impressed when I tell them that I made it! ^_^

Man people are so judgemental and stupid!!

I hate i so much!

When I was in high school, I dressed kind of lolita like in the casual days (the days we're aloud to use normal casual clothes cause we used uniforms) so this girl started telling everyone I was a satanic witch or something, and they sent me to the principal's office (sinse it's a catholic school) and i almost got kicked out... I got so pissed at that, I went up to her and slapped her, but it was outside the school. She didn't fight back because she knew what she did was all made up, and ppl saw, and I told them, then they all went against her for doing that to me...
It was kinda like the cruel intentions movie... hehe

Blackberry Sage
I have made it a tradition to wear my tiara every day to school, even if I'm not dressing lolita (like today. Jeans and an old navy sweater.).

Today I was walking from biology to my locker and some girl (I didn't even see who) yelled "Why do you wear a f***ing crown everyday, you slut?!" I got sent to the office for 'causing a disturbance in the hall'.

Well, 1. I wear it because I have the courage to stand out. Unlike everyone else, who just wears everyone elses clothes. 2) I wear it because I like it. and 3) I'm not a slut. I've never even had a boyfriend. Nor do I even look like a slut. O_o

Well... I didn't really get in trouble. But it was really evil. So yeah, I kinda know how you feel. Though I've never been accused of trying to burn down a school. lol. Though I am guilty of thinking about it.

You should've slapped her. XP

I had one recent incident... It wasn't because of what I was wearing, but it was still ludicrous.... You know how in school in the morning you say the pledge and all? Well, for the past few months, I havn't been putting my hand over my heart because I'm an athiest, however, unlike some people I know, I stand to be repectful. One Morning a chherleader girl call me ignorant for simply standing and not doing the hand to heart thing. It really bugs me... she still sends me glares in the morning as I stand...

I was once in study hall and was finishing up a paper and when I was done at the computer I went back to my seat and the local druggie/general classes girl and the new student were looking at my Gothic & Lolita Bible without my permission, and then the new girl, who was an ultra-religious baptist turned to me and said "This book is satanic! Are you a Satanist?" And the druggie said "Yeah, i though you were telling me that you're a Satanist or something?"
"No, I'm Lutheran"
"What's Lutheran?"

In addition, the druggie had been new to the school a few weeks before and some girl in my math class told her I was a crackhead.

There's a long rambling entry about the whole experiance in my Journal, but I doubt anyone wants to listen to a 14 year old complain. I abuse my journal horribly.

Well, I live in the south and I can't exacly be myself. I'm surrounded by hard core babtists and rednecks most of the time, So it's not easy sneaking into a Gothic Oufit around here without someone giving you strange looks. And now that everyone likes sticking there nose into my personal life, people wont stop making fun of me becuase I like Japan and the Japanese than I do Americans. I just want to be myself! Is it to much to ask? I can't wait to get out of this town and finish my Japanese lessons so I can move.

I can't exactly be myself either, but that's because I don't have any lolita clothes! If I had any, I'd gladly wear them everyday! Bring on anything that someone says to me! twisted

I saw a girl being escorted to the principal's office for "dress code" violations. She wore a sleeveless, black peter-pan collar shirt, short (but still long enough) black skirt with white piping, black and white striped thigh high stockings and these amazing black platform boots. It made me so mad to see that. She wasn't going against dress code... grrr...

One time I was at the shopping mall and these guys who were outside smoking were like "Hey, r ya socks hi enuf??" (Yes they deserve to be quoted in noob talk ><) but at school I always was told to pull my socks up and now they want them down, WTF? gonk

My school has a uniform and it is like a potato sack so I altered it, made it slimmer, took out the bits that make the skirt fly up when the wind blows (I hate those! ><) and added a bow to the back.

Then everyone was like "Ha ha lookit her stoopid bow!" And I also had a matching headband and some girl just yanked it off my head. mad

I have also been accused of trying to steal things from a market stall when I was not even touching them, I was just pointing to a shirt. o_O
