i found a good solution to the bed-time tummy grumble - 100calorie popcorn bags! awesome and filling ^_^
I'm also counting calories, 300-400 a meal, 500 tops if i skipped breakfast.

Congrats Super Buick!!! Guess what, I weighed in today and I lost 2 pounds!!! Yippeeeeeee!!

haha, i told you you should eat breakfast and you said you can't eat it. protein in the morning. always best. and if you can get your hands on this bread called "ezekiel bread". its very very good for you.

Hey guys!!

I really want to lose the 15 pounds I gained when I got into college, because the belly really is ticking me off, plus I can't use a lot of my clothes.. which makes me feel awful.

I really wanna get serious about it, but a couple weeks ago I fell on my knee and it's bothered ever since, along with that ankle, so running as cardio has been sorta eliminated as an option till I heal, which might take a while. I don't eat too horribly and the few snacks I have I'm downgrading, and I have to try and start eatting breakfast. But I'm at a loss as to what else to do to help.

I thought this would benefit a lot of people other than me, cos everyone always wants to lose a few pounds. So then, can anyone offer any weight loss tips??

Luff always, Bunny

I found that consistent cardiovascular exercise is the way to effectively lose weight. Walking for a minimum of 30 minutes per day 5-7x days a week would be good.

You can also incorporate extra walking by taking long-cuts in your daily routine, if you have the time to. (I lost about 20 lbs by walking nearly every day.) The benefits of exercise do not show up until several weeks. (I can't remember the exact number...9 weeks I think?)

Eating plenty of water-soluble fiber (fruits and veggies) and whole grains in addition to drinking plenty of water also helps in weight loss. (Yummy tangerines helped me lose weight too. XD ) You can feel full without eating much calories. According to my nutrition professor, your stomach gauges the feeling of fullness by the weight of whatever you eat.

Also, another professor taught me that how you eat can affect how hungry you feel. The brain takes a while to actually figure out that the food you're eating is satisfying. So chewing your food longer allows your brain to get the message that you're satiated faster. Scarfing down food is a no-no. It's better to savor your food, methinks.

I also have the habit of eating on small plates. I think it tricks my brain into believing I'm eating more than I really am. I personally think you can treat yourself to food or drinks you like by moderating portion size so calorie intake is less than calorie output.

Eating many meals throughout the day in small portions actually increases your metabolism.

Fries may taste good, but try to avoid it. You can reduce the portion you eat if you can't resist the temptation, but keep in mind that the starch increases insulin production. The insulin production then triggers more appetite. (Hopefully my professor wasn't wrong about that, but I think it has truth to it.)

My post...it is so long. x_x Anyway, I hope that helps. Good luck!

don't worry about the length, that was great advice! it's basically the stuff i've been trying to do. it's all about smart choices, and those are pretty common sense.. it only takes willpower~! ^_^

you really should have like a weekly weigh-in, so we can track your progress and keep you accountable. if its a bad week... just "forget" to weigh-in biggrin

i had a big mac yesterday out of necesity, and boy did i feel guilty the ENTIRE day for it. and i didn't even enjoy it that much. i controlled the rest of the eatting that day and did some intense extra cardio.. but no way i'm cheating or misstepping again, SO not worth it... maybe only for french fries whee

i lost no weight this week. i am so pissed.

at least i didn't gain any. but still pissed.

and that clean and clear acne kit stuff gave me an UBER bad allergic reaction. my face is completely chapped and i've woken up with madly swollen eyelids two days straight... and these are the days i stopped using it. jesus christ.

you need to realize that some weeks you won't have any change in weight. don't be discouraged. it's not so much the weight you should worry about, but moreso the inches you lose. personally, i gained a pound this week. damn you, beer!
