what will happen that day? well I'll be sleeping in, thats what. If i wake the next day, great. If I dont, even better. And If I am awoken by a crazy, unbelievably bright light, I'll know that the second comming of christ has occured, and then maybe ill get up.

So it's one of those again. I really don't believe in those things. I mean everyone thought that the world would end in the year 1666. But to be honest if people want to think that something is going to happen then go ahead. It's just that if they keep talking about negative things like then something is going to happen. The world didn't end, but Black Death did start around that time, I think. I guess something could happen, but I wouldn't think on it.

The world ending in 4 years time? That's what they say, but really, the world won't die until the sun dies out. Yet, the sun will not die out until.. around a few millions years or so away. Yeah, there might be tornados and stuff, but there'll always be at least some surviver. Like the rodents, who hid underground when dinosaurs went extinct.
Anyways, scientists are looking for new planets to be suitable for a new world, so when our world is all crappy and destroyed, we could move to that one. But then again, wouldn't we just ruin it again? confused

This is very interesting. But it's not I like I woulnd't want this to happen. The world's in a horrible shape right now, it's not like it's a bad if the world ends. I can't wait for 2012, I bet people will go mad about the end of the world. Truly you must wonder what that's gonna be like.
Well you got me waiting for 2012 ^^ sorry for such uncaring for the world ending.

2012 is also the year a minor planet called Eris is supposed to pass in between the Earth and the Moon.

We started counting days and so it happens, that there's a 12th December 2012. Compared to the Jewish calender it's the 16. Ijar 5768.
Get what I mean? The number may sound nice, but just because of a date the world won't cease to exist.

I think it will take a lot longer than that for us to trash the planet and that that's why the world will end, not because of a set of predictions based on theology.
And is it even 2012? They think the Medieval monk who came up with the idea was several years out anyway. Therefore, technically it could be 2012 now or in 8 years time or last year. Nobody really knows what year it is.

I really don't think anyone can predict the end of the world. I believe that nothing's going to happen to the world any time soon and I think we'll be safe. It seems like every year someone predicts something bad will happen.
1/1/00 - Everyone thought it would be the end of electricity because 1999 was the last year on the computers (or something like that...that's what my mom said.}}
6/6/06 - Something bad was supposed to happen just because it was 666.
And now they think the world will end in four years...Whereas the best part of happiness is love.

Verderbnis Yet another date... Really, what was with 2000, 6th of June 2006 and so on...? You will go your common days business. Exactly. This is just a bunch of more crap. "Y2K" (year 2000) was supposed to be the end when technology would completely backfire and destroy everything, and 666 (the code for the king which was also June 6, 2006) was supposed to be the day that the Devil's followers would reveal themselves and we would all be sent to Hell. It's just a bit more bullshit that will be thought of as stupid after the day comes, yet crazy people may actually believe it.

June 6th was because the date would have been 6-6-06... take away the 0 and it is the 'Devils' numer'. 666 ya' know? Whatever. It is not, it's 218, serious satanists tend to use that number instead of 666, anyways, since I am alive there have been a lot of predictions about the world's ending I wouldn't take care of those religious dates, I'd rather care about astronomy and watch out for asteroids.

I once read, that scientists believe the Earth will start spinning/turing differently. ( slower, faster, the other way around, something like that )
which ofcourse means, water may rise higher and higher, causing certain countries and islands to vanish.
of course stuff like this take years and years to happen.
it's doesn't happen in one day.
2012 could just be the beginning of something new, not the end.
( it's just how you see it, i think)
or it could just be a normal year passing through sweatdrop

2012 does not mark the end of the world. I repeat: it does not mark the end of the world.
-It is simply the end of the Mayan calender.
-However, since it is the end of the calender, they would have to switch to a new one, right? So: we will be switching worlds, as they predicted, not the end of the world.
-They also predicted humans as a whole would undergo a great change. Who knows what that might be? We might evolve again or something.
-We will be entering a new dimension; in other words, and we will evolve, whether we advance or take a step back.

Humans created time, so time is basically an illusion.
Humans also are able to measure things only by comparing it to other things.

the main argument for dec. 2012 is because of global warming. Many scientist believe thats when the world will "begin to end" meaning the point of noo return, however, no one on here will be alive during the "end of the end" so many do not care.......

2012 has been decoded in the bible by some as 'the end of this world' that is to say that some people that try to find codes in the bible have found a way to show this. However you can't really be sure that this is what it going to happen since they can prove that it was there until after it already happened. so basically they can't even be sure if it's a true prediction of the future until it's already history.
However 'the end of the world' doesn't have to be a horrific end. Many scholars see it only as the end of the world as we know it, and thus a beginning of a new, changed world, one where we have learned from our mistakes. I think that this is a more positive outlook as well as one that i would like to see happen. Perhaps by 2012 we'll have learned that we're all morons and should try to get along more with one another, that we should take care of the resources that we have and that we should all unite together to take care of all the people in the world so that we can continue to become a world that cares for one another.
of course it could also mean that we all get fed up with one another and bomb each other to kingdom come with nuclear warheads. haha! ah well.
i'm not too worried about it to tell you the truth, it's not like i can really do anything to stop something from happening so i might as well go on living my life as i like and hopefully i'll die happy and fulfilled :3
