Laharl Part Deux Rellik San I apply the logic, tattoo's and piercings, look great when your 20, look good when your 30, look passable in your early 40's look rediculous after that. My logic is a wee bit different. I am of the school of thought, that when I'm 60 the last thing I'm going to be caring about is my wrinkled tats. My butt will be all shriveled anyway so why should I care if the black smudge on it was once a bat.So what about the 50 years where your skin is still smooth... but the tat's look out of place?

I'm like you. I don't have any tattoos or piercings (not even my ears).
I'm going to get my ears pierced eventually, but up until this last year I've always had soccer so I couldn't do it. (It's against the rules to wear earrings on the field)
I want a couple tattoos, but only a couple small tasteful ones. Some ancient script going up the inside of my arm, and maybe a dragon on my back. I won't get those until I'm 18, moved out of the house, and never moving back (according to my mother), I'm only 17 now.

It'll look fine because the skin is smooth. Who gives a ******** anyway. Plus not many people have smooth skin after their 60 unless they have botox.

Veruniel Well, no I'm not. Not really. But I do feel like I'm far from the norm sometimes. Because I'm a goth with no tattoos or piercings. No, not even my ears. It's not that I object to them on principle, and I've seen them look really good on other people. It's just that I have a fear of doing anything permanent to my body. The only body modification I've ever engaged in is dying my hair, and even that was with temporary dye. Anyone else feel the same? Do you have any tattoos or piercings? Why or why not? Heh, I was the same as you with no body mods but hair colour years ago until this year I decided I wanted to get my ears pierced so I could wear earings at my wedding. I just never thought any of those things looked good on me.

All I really have to say is that: If you are a goth you dont generally have to have piercings and/or tattoos. Basically its how you want to display yourself.

I have 5 earrings, my nose and labret pierced and 2 tattoos. Got an appointment to get another one this week!
I'm all for tats and piercings. Body art is great and I love it. But I think you should have to be eighteen to get a tattoo. How many people have you met who got a dumb-a** tat when they were 16 and regret it now? I've met way too many.
Piercings are fine. Most of them close up if you get sick if them and they can look awesome. Lay off the tongue, though, I reckon.

it doesn't matter how you dress or what you look like...goth is a state of mind...not a fashion statement
