Mm...Sankyu. I like the name Rei, for some raison. [Intentional mispelling. <<]
I'm retyping all of the stuff I had down. My character profile skeleton is like this:
"Illicit Romance
Character Profile:
[Insert Paragraphs upon Paragraphs of character information]"
It's not the traditional type, you see. I just tell everything about my character that needs to be known in story mode. Of course, I leave out things that should be told during the story. Like romantic interest, partner, shared abilities, etc. Makes it a bit more interesting. For me, anyway.

Mine will be broken into more manageable sections, for sure, because otherwise I will lose focus and start rambling incoherently about relatively inconsequential things. I have an amazing ability to get off topic. >.>
Are you going to post your charrie info (you will notice I "feminize" many words) here or in the main thread? I am curious and it will help me hammer out some ideas. I am not wholly decided on personality nuances and I want her to be sufficiently different from everyone else. No need to have five antisocial jackasses or five bleeding hearts.

I'll post it here first for opinions and observation. I'd like no profile to be exactly alike. Plus I like to be critiqued. e.e; Really what I'm looking for is someone to tell me what I'm missing. 'cause I'm sure that throughout my description I'll leave something out.

One of the few things I have decided is that the character will be a special type of spellcaster. Instead of using words to invoke or weave magic, she feels the flow of magic through her and the world around her. She will channel magic but with an interesting twist: her control is her emotions. Different types of spells are channeled through different types of emotions. A healing spell, for example, might be channeled through a feeling of suffering of some sort. If she can't feel suffering, she can't channel healing magic.
This I think would make her very interesting. To live up to her potential she'd need to flee the confines of a castle to experience emotions she might be sheltered from. Despair, fatigue, suffering, helplessness, and other "negative" emotions would need to be experienced and later remembered in order for her to channel new magic. A romance then would introduce a whole new feeling of love which could be potent... but twisted would create hate and jealousy. She could be easily swayed by her comrades from being a great asset to a great danger.
:3 But again... happy ending. >.>
Illy, you better post your character profile!
EDIT: This gives a great potential for some really dark moments too. The right spell might mean recalling some particularly terrible times of her life...

Illicit Romance
Character Description:
The Sün’Shiir were a warrior race. Proud as they were stubborn, they eventually fought and killed one another to virtual extinction due to an unfortunate blood line trait: The Searing Eye. This bloodlust took over the mind and induced an uncontrollable rage in its victim. The few that survived the bloodshed were among the strongest of the clan, and consequently were the most susceptible to the bloodlust.
Skyelis Monvante Guillian Urioga was one of those few. Wandering his way to the Faction, he was taken in by the Roc’Shaar, who were immediately aware of his ability. Over several years of rigorous and demanding training, Sky was able to suppress his Searing Eye. However, the elite of the Faction knew that if some traumatic event were to tip the delicate balance within him, his mind would buckle under the strains and his curse would be reawakened. The only person able to keep his bloodlust under limited control is his companion, who had trained equally as hard to learn the art of suppression.
Over the years, Skyelis’ dominantly savage nature gave way to a gentle kindness unlike any of his race. Although still rough around the edges, the dormant curse allowed him to take on an entirely new persona. This six foot two twenty-three year old man looked down upon those around him, though never in a condescending way. Standing a foot taller than most any other native, Sky was quite the spectacle. He was muscular, but not bulky. He was sinewy, but not overly so. He was lithe, but a bit clumsy. The most peculiar thing about his person would have to be the eyes and hair he had inherited from the Sün’Shiir. Almost an iridescent violet, the man’s eyes were contrasted by the silvery locks that framed a smooth featured face, his shining tresses barely reaching his shoulders at their longest point. However much these oddities stood out, the most unusual characteristic of the virtual giant was his extremely pallid skin, which seemed almost unreal if one were to stare too long. These three features alone made Skyelis stand out like an Ogre among Elves.
Sky carried only one main weapon on his person: The Blade of Sün’Shiir. This exquisite sword could only be carried by one from his clan, not only because of its eighty pound weight, but also because of an ancient enchantment that prevented any being besides a Sün’Shiir to wield it. Its design was beautiful: A silver pommel inlaid with a diamond shaped amethyst gave way to a black chord wrapped, two-handed grip. This handle birthed a similarly onyx cross hilt which flayed at the ends like the forked tongue of a snake. Rising from this guard like a majestic phoenix reaching nearly six feet in length was a single edged silver blade that came to a graceful curve at its end. The entire weapon closed in on eight feet in length; it was a monster of a blade. Aside from this wonder were a few ordinary concealed weapons: a dagger in his right boot, and a retractable claw. Sky was a close combat specialist, after all.
His partner knew well not to entangle themselves too deeply in a fight. Though kind in nature to most every person, when it came to battle, Skyelis’ fierce tribal spirit comes into play. Rarely was the final blow not struck by the Sün’Shiirian. Supplementary spells generally worked best with him, as it was difficult for even his partner to strike a harmful spell against the opponent.
One last oddity about Sky is his gloves; or glove, rather. Although he generally can be seen with both on, he frequently removes the right in order to complete tasks that require its removal. However, the black leather adorning his mysterious left hand has never been seen removed. Occasionally he can be caught staring at it through glazed eyes, as if trying to recall a long lost memory. No one can say for sure what is underneath the glove; some even say it is not even a hand. One thing is for certain, however: due to his mannerisms, appearance, and such quirks as his glove, hardly a soul can claim to know this enigma that is Skyelis Monvante Guillian Urioga
Chosen Color: Indigo.

I like it ^^;; It sort of invokes images of the Germans in Seven Seas. They always used these massive two-handed swords (although I forget what they were called). They didn't worry too much about landing every blow... you get hit once and you're probably out of the game. He also sounds somewhat tragic- as if the bloodlust is wholly unavoidable and inevitable. I am not sure that was the intent; it was simply the way I read it. If you do intend for him to be tragic I hope it's more a 3:10 to Yuma sort of tragedy and not a horrible Titanic one with Celine Dion in the background singing that wretched song. It still gives me nightmares. I don't particularly like tragedies, but I will enjoy the ride if there is some bang-bang pow-pow (and he sounds very bang-bang pow-pow).
I am realizing from your profile a certain amount of planning is required to make a pair. I hadn't really considered any characteristics that would be needed in a warrior for my spellcaster... but I also hadn't really delved into any particular personality traits either.
If Meta is planning a warrior like you are, I think Ghale and I will be complimentary spellcasters. Meta, are you playing a man or a woman? And have you solidified anything? >.> If you would like to play a spellcaster, I think Ghale would be okay with playing a warrior.
In either case once we figure out which two are warriors and which two are spellcasters I think we should match them into pairs so that we can start instead of having four incomplete pairs we are unable to role-play.

I hadn't thought that far into it as of yet. <<; He was just born last night, so I need a bit of time to make him a bit more flawed.
Have you thought at all who you would like to be with, as far as companions go? I'm sure you read it, but each Combat Specialist is paired with a specific Spellcaster, so I would place you according to who you asked to be with. Since we only have four people, we would have to have two Spellcasters and two Warriors. Or... We could always choose whatever we like most, and then the other spots can be filled in by anyone who wants to play a second character. I know I could if need be. I've a female I wanted to try out. <<;
By the way... Where in the world is Ari? [Probably more popularly known as Kitty.] And Piggly? And Hawke? And Blue? And Auron? D:

Do you want the app before the profile is sent or would you prefer it is sent with the profile? I can do whichever is convenient for you. And what sort of "original writing" are you looking for exactly? An intro post? I am curious because it seems like the organization of a profile might lend itself to an application of sorts with all the different sorts of information we would need to include. I can't imagine doing less than a full paragraph on personality, another robust paragraph on the description, and a heavy couple at the very least for personal history for me.
Edit: All these long, rambling posts and refreshing like an idiot for a reply is somewhat less satisfying than AIM. If anyone who wants to do this RP wants my AIM name I'll give it as long as you ignore how pretentious it sounds. I was in college and trying to give myself something that sounded like I was a confident woman. >_<

Okay, so . . . yeah. As I guess was implied by my name being brought up, even so far as having my life threatened, by the way she doesn't know where I live anymore, so she can't kill me. I would be interested in joining this RP, too. I'm pretty sure it was mentioned by Syrenrei, but I can play whatever. I have some ideas for warrior or spellcaster, I'm pretty open, so whoever wants to play what can play what they wish . . and I'd be willing to fill in whatever is necessary. Just thought I should actually say something, so there it is, and here it is again, something.

Rei: I would like for everything to be bundled up in one. That's how I had intended it to be, anyway. Mayhaps I should make that more clear in the rules of application... <<; And the application and sample are two completely different entities. And although I realize that you and others will be writing a lot for a mere application, I would still ask for an original piece. This can be anything you desire; an intro to an imaginary role play, a character introduction for a different person, etc. There's no limit on length, and seeing as I already know what you're capable of, you don't need to worry about being accepted. =P
[WhisperWhisper: Just be sure to re-read the application rules just before you send it. I would assume most people would forget one important one. o.<]
Ghale: Hihi, Ghale. It is surely a pleasure to have you here. Don't worry too much about accomodation. Although, I'm rather sure Metar is planning out a Warrior, and as you can see from my post above, I will also be a combat specialist. Rei there, as I'm sure you can tell, is to be a Spellcaster. If you'd like to, you may also be a Spellcaster, either male or female, doesn't matter, and choose which Warrior you'd like to work with. You may have to argue it out with Rei, though. <<;
Oh, and happy first post in the Koiji! =D

I think I will be done once I hear back from Meta. I even have a picture I am working on! Well, two... but one got a smidgen of cooking spray on it from my Rice Crispies treat. In defense of the Rice Crispies treat it is delicious and the piece of paper was admittedly in its way. I'll send my profile as Part I and a post of "Tempest" arriving at the Faction for my application as Part II. Would be odd to send the post before the profile...

Unfortunately, I have just found out that I have three days to complete a class. I have five essays and more tests. So, I will not be able to join until the first of May or later.
And now, a small freak-out from Meta:

Nuuuuu! All my plottage! Well, I suppose I will suck it up and finish a profile then. =( I had really wanted to plan something so that you wouldn't be stuck with my crappy story if you had some better, more interesting ideas! If you still want to do a bodyguard I can write him/her in the history portion later. There is no need to divulge every bit of her past I suppose...

My bodyguard's past is simple - he's been training to guard nobility since he was old enough to walk, and he's been chosen as one of the warriors, which requires more training. ;D Not that hard.
Though, it would be really fun to make him distantly related to nobility. That way when he finds out he's like "ZOMG I'm a prince?!" (Only, not with the ZOMG. xD)

I just sent Illy my character profile. =D Illy, are you gonna post it on the RP thread or should I send it to Meta so she can peruse it when she has time over the next week to plot her character?
EDIT: I told Illy and Ghale they can pair so if you like I can be your pair. =) I assume you are gonna be a guy? One girl and three guys, I like it! It might be better to have it more even though... maybe Blue Rose will come play <3
