Yeah. Like, I know a couple of times some girls called themselves wa-lolis when they were wearing brand yukatas from BABY or AP. And it's like.. it's a full-Yukata. With a cute print and a bit more ruffle at the neck area. xD

In my own opinion, i consider Wa lolita to be simply merging the cute and frilly with the culture and heritage of the country that gave name and definition to the modern style.

I like to think of it as a sort of tribute, if you will, to remind lolitas that there's more countries to the fashion than 18th century Europe!

(I'm probably over-romanticizing it but I really don't care. I rarely get to be wistful and dreamy!)

i agree with chibi rat. a yukata is just that- regardless of who made it. but wa lolita is more involved.

That's like saying that Punkloli isn't REALLY lolita because they wear chunky sneakers.

lol. It's really not 100% lolita for the simple fact that it's a mix between Lolita and Punk fashion, unlike the rest of the basic lolita styles that have the same basic look (for the most part)
