I'm just happy to see the orange sticky sign saying there's new posts on a sticky xD

Exactly my point! They've found water on Mars! (Yes, water not too long ago from soil found by Phoenix) There's even a theory that life on Earth originated from Mars! A remnant of Mars was found on Earth, supposedly from a collision, and what was found was supposedly fossilized worms from Mars about 1 tenth the size of Earth worms. The Universe is 13.7 billion years old! Humans are only about 4 million years old. And that's just the primitive's! It's a vast expanse out there. Who knows, maybe this universe is just a part of an even larger universe holding more, infinite, universes just as Stephen Hawking theorized. We don't know for sure, and may never, but for now it's pretty safe to assume there's life elsewhere. We, as in the universe, could all be just an experiment by some other, larger, more advanced, species. We know so much, just not enough to know the universe. Maybe other beings are too micro- or macroscopic to be seen. Other's may warp the space/time continuem and become invisible in worm holes. We don't know enough to know it all, but we can use an estimate of chances to figure out what is likely and what is not. I have a strong belief that not only does life exist elsewhere in the universe, but that we came from that "elsewhere".

That was probably one of the most long winded entries you ever typed...

Why would Earth be the only planet able to harbor life? What, life couldn't develop in the first 9.1 billion years? Think of what happened during the 10-35 second(s). There were infinite collisions! There were protons and neutrons and electrons meeting their anti particles antiproton and antineutrons and positrons etc. all creating enormous collisions! There were so many particles that were seemingly lost! The graviton was created followed by the Electric magnetic force and ending with the two nuclear forces ( mrgreen ) first strong and then weak! Within three minutes, the universe was more than a trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion times the size of it before the big bang when it was smaller than an atom! One hundred million years later, when things were cataclysmic, but still much calmer than one hundred million years earlier, the first stars formed. They created hydrogen into helium, helium into lithium, lithium into beryllium, beryllium into boron, and finally boron into carbon! If a star was too massive, running out of hydrogen, or trying to create nitrogen from carbon, they would go Super Nova and be obliterated! Then, all the gas and elements left behind from the death would eventually collect and create new stars. Sometimes a Black hole, neutron star, or quark star, will be created. Every object in the universe warps the space time. But none do like a Black Hole. Black are simply warps in the space/time continuem that are too massive ever to return to regular space/time warping. Nothing, not even light, can escape this massive death trap. A neutron star is another remnant of a star that is incredibly packed yet not quite as packed as a black hole. It gets its name because almost all of its particles are neutrons! THe sam goes for quark stars except that its particles are quarks mostly which are the particles that make up neutrons, protons, and electrons. That's hardly anything! I mentioned the elements on the periodic table from 1-6 but there is really 118! 118=Ununoctium. And since element #92(uranium) all of the next elements have been concocted in a lab(including uranium)! And if this little piece of SCIENCE has been achieved, then surely life can bee harbored elsewhere!
((No this surely is longer!))

Any way, what I'm really trying to keep this thread alive because, well, I think I'm intelligent and i adore SCIENCE!!!
PostPosted: Tue Oct 07, 2008 7:19 pm

Hmmm... my perspective on this comes from my friend, and I can't explain it nearly as well as him, but it has to do with planet classes and civilization classes, etc. and our species is class 0. We don't even have complete control over our own planet, and we're constantly fighting with each other. If we had complete control, we'd be Class 1.
Class 2 is if we are on more than 1 planet (living I mean) and we have quite possibly found other life by this point. We can move anywhere freely within our own galaxy.
Class 3 is we can move freely anywhere incredibly quickly within multiple galaxies. By this point, we have definitely found other life and most certainly traded with more than one form.
Of course, trading and such things with other life all pre-supposes that other life will be carbon-based like ourselves, when in actuality, the likelihood of that is slim. And we also believe they will be humanoid in appearance. *sighs*
But I digress, the point is, I think there is life, we just don't have the ability to find it yet. And said life may not be what we're expecting, but I'm sure with such a universe of such a vast scope, there is other life.
This is Krad Ruhk III, ending rant #452.

We've also found other planets outside the solar system known as Exo-planets. I believe that about 238-244 have been discovered. However, one in particular stands out. Discovered in 2007, it is known as Gliese (pronounced Gli-ze) 581c. Named after its star, Gliese 581 (There are 2-3 more planets with the same name but a different letter), it was thought to be able to support life. However, the third planet in the system is thought to be able to harbor life more probably than Gliese 581c. Life is also thought to be able to survive on Europa, under the ice in an ocean. Although they wouldn't be advanced, it's possible. Heat could be provided by the radiation always released by Jupiter. Venus may once have had a chance to be able to eventually harbor life. Remember, it's not as unlike Earth as many think. It is hotter, more gaseous, have longer days than Earth, and have an opposite spin from all other planets in the solar system, but their are similarities as well. It is the closest planet to Earth and no two planets in the solar system are closer to one another. It is close in size to Earth, and it has a magnetic field and atmosphere. But planets such as Mercury are obviously uninhabitable. Mercury has no atmosphere, a weak magnetic field, weak gravity, is too close to the Sun, is too small, and also has recently been confirmed to have a decay in size. Planets such as Neptune are also uninhabitable because they do not have a solid surface, have too strong of a magnetic field, have very thick atmospheres, have high winds, have too low temperatures, have poisonous gases and much more. But if the climate and environment is just right(like Earths), than life can be harbored. Oh yeah and this reminds me of the funniest thing. Since I was sick last week(and still am) I had to do my work this week. So on my Skills Sheet(a math sheet we get every week with 20 question) from last week, one of the problems said that Mercury is 29 million kilometers from the Sun and that Earth is 117 million kilometers from the Sun. How much farther is Earth than from the Sun than Mercury in Kilometers? So I know that a kilometer is 1.6 times the distance of a mile and that Mercury is 36 million miles from the Sun and that Earth is 93 million miles from the Sun. So I already know that Earth is also 150 million kilometers from the Sun but I have to look up the distance in kilometers of Mercury from the Sun. Well actually, Mercury is 58 million kilometers from the Sun! So I wrote it on the skills sheet and I got all worked up and annoyed at my math teacher. But I probably was not as annoyed at her as she will be at me. It was worth it though!

Hello...? o.0 Some one...? any one PLEASE DON'T KILL THIS FORUM!!! IN THE NAME OF SCIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PostPosted: Fri Oct 17, 2008 8:01 pm

well then, it seems we've exhausted our fules for this particular subject(Well actually, I could probably go on for about 70 more pages but then I wouldn't get any responses) Actually, speaking of fule, who thinks that we should dig down 25 miles off the coast of N.J. and get our own oil instead of sending trillions over to other countries and then saving billions of dollars? Or, who thinks that we should use ethanol instead of oil? I think that if those are the easiest to obtain, then we should just go with ethanol. It doesn't pollute quite as much and there is more of it than oil. But I would much rather put stop to it all together. As I do believe that this(what's going on in the world) is a naural cycle, I also believe that man does contribute to the process.

((Let's hope this sparks some more interest. sweatdrop ))

You see the thing is that with useing oil from other places we are in fact saving alot more money then people realize. We do not have to manufacture and produce the oil, so it in return saves us LOADS of money...I did not read all your post, but I plan to. Im just very tired tonight.

Actually, we lost about $820 billion in 2006 from the trade deficit who's highest contributer is the oil we but from other countries. After that is all the stuff we buy from China. "Why aren't we out of money?" one might wonder. Because we make up for all of our lost money by printing more. We print about $500 billion a year. But any one that ever did something like trade cards, would know what would happen then. The U.S. currency becomes of less value. So if you were to buy a bottle of water right now, then if you buy the same kind 5 years later, it would be $3. However, other countries don't spend quite as much so they are quickly catching up to America, the world's wealthiest governmental country. However, the wealthiest country per person is Switzerland(WooHoo Federer's Home!!!). So we do lose more money than many people may think.

((*Devours table whole* BACK TO INTELLIGENT!!!))
Actually, maybe you have a point. Like maybe, what is the SCIENCE!!! of dancing randomly on the table? Um... Maybe gravity? No. It's not working. But anything has to be better than what we were trying earlier. Well I guess I could include it in my signiture nad some people on the guild may see it once in a while. I guess I'll try...

Oy oy oy, not to interrupt this intelligent discussion (ALTERNATIVE FUEL! IT'S NOT THAT HARD), but does anyone else's Gaia look a little different? It looks like random things are highlighted, and they're not, and it's messing with my head... @.@
I did actually read most of this though! Yay!
