Well Boxman seems to like the idea seeing as he placed the idea on the table. I most definitely agree with it.

Well I have kids and most of the time i implement the naughty chair. as a time to sit and think about the action you did wrong. But i do give adequate warnings before using this. So i do agree with the use of warnings unless of course someone is breaking a rule that would other wise get them banned from gaia it self . But i also agree with the fact that it is impossible to get ahold of all the mods at one time and it can take days before we all have a chance to check messages ( im horrible) so this would work best with one person having this duty so to say delegated on them. I have messaged anochaa regarding this and will inform you all when a decision has been made about it
Dammie-kins
The difficult decision comes with the different modding styles of all of our mods.

Bella - (sorry if I got you wrong) - Is someone who would rather talk than take action, putting advice in here and there and posting as more of a member and keeping an eye on things.

Dronze - (REALLY sorry if I get this wrong) - Seems to be the guy who will sit back and relax until something happens and then pick it apart to find a comedical gesture that comes out of it and then base something on how "Stupid" the people were being.

Stratus & other mods - (?) - I haven't exactly seen most of them post online, so I cannot really judge them so I won't say anything at all

Me - (And here is where I get bad mouthed) - I like to take direct action to stop it before it continues unless the guild shifts its weight against me, which happens alot in actuality. I base the decisions on how it effects the other members of our guild. If it gets multiple people in an uppity situation I give them strikes.

`

And because we are all so different the time to get together and actually have a set and CONFORMED council that would have any order is next to improbable. We would have to work with eachother which doesn't happen alot actually its sort of...every man for himself I guess...but if you guys would like to implement the 3 strike policy feel free to pipe up, I'll make the vote.

Hm.

Um. If we're done talking about punishments...

Could you make a book subforum? I can have sudden urges to talk about the billions of books I've read. ^^"

Bartimaeus trilogy, Eragon, Eldest, Flowers in The Attic, and billions of others.

Seriously. If I don't talk to people with about a paragraph of speculations, guesses, and personal views on books, I might go even farther off the deep end.

The 3 strike method is tried and true when your in kindergarten boxman~

I'm talking about 3-strikes for minor offenses, like posting in the wrong forum or starting a flame war. Major offenses, like threatening the mods, spamming, posting of porn, etc. require more drastic measures. Otherwise, a 3-strike policy would be nothing but a slap on the wrist.

I'm also not saying that a 3 strike policy is the ultimate method. It's probably not, but I think it would give people who don't understand how the board works time to get used to things. People who refuse to change will only end up getting banned.

Or, we could have a "time-out" type thing where, depending on the severity of the offense, the perp could be banned for a certain amount of time.

I've never been a mod, though, as I've said before.

On the down side I've seen completely vulgar people stay on a website just because some of the mods liked them.

That wouldn't be me, would it? Not saying the mods like me or anything, but it sort of fits me.

I like that idea.
Like a book AND movie sub-forum maybe?

As far as I know, they have enough gold for both. But I think movies would go to the same category with entertainment.

Not at all, I actually find you to be rather cool. The person I'm talking about goes by the name Felonious_Crimson or something like that.

Dammie said "pipe up". I know you're not the authorial figure. I agreed with it but didn't want to seem like it was my idea so I put your name up there... I didn't want to seem like I was plagiarising.

I just think people will then start to get slaps on the wrist as a form of rebellion to piss the mods off. Like stupid people who believe that if they post "I LIKE MEH KITTEHS NAKED!" and then posting a porno would only get sheer pleasure out of it if we punished then severely. Thats why I would make those cases abroad so everyone can get their stab in. Lets call it stoning.

Umm...suggestion on my part...

I am going to need about 5 people to help me with this but I am producing a ROM of a game and I'll need testers...or those 5 people could give me a hand and weed through the inactive members and start sending PM's to inform them they have a warning or such. (I would need these peoples names of course)

This is all voluntary though.

ROM? i'll be a tester if you tell me what that is..

first off, as far as the three strike thing goes, it's easy to do, just each time you see an offense, log it, have in the crew subforum a stickey or somthing that you'll record member names, and dates of offenses (after 3-5 weeks or so, a strike can be replenished) as well as a small description of the offense, that way you avoid multiple strikings by multiple mods.

the book subforum sounds amazing, i love books ^_^

and my own personal view is that this guild needs much, much less drama, each time i come here there seems to be a new bleating heart drama thread in the guild >.< genuine problems i don't mind, but don't post every little issue you have please.

oh and also, make me a mod ^_^ i'm mega amazing
just kiddin, not too active anymore to take that position

That second to last second sentence already disqualified you [lmfao]

As for the drama you should deffinently make a post and I'll turn it into a sticky about how people need to stop drama. The guild members seem to like to start and it and I get pissed at them which adds fuel to the fire so maybe I should sit back or just delete their posts (which I've been doing)

The one exception of the group prayer thing.

Ouch.. Getting a sudden feeling of being forgotten.

That doesn't help much, if ya want to make any statements on bad language and other kinds of posts.
(Then I guess you want to have the post to quote from -.^)

Also, I find the 3 strike system fine, from the view of how you put it in paper at the moment.
Though you will need to prove the effectiveness before I trust it.

Oh. Now you may think I'm the person to say "BAN" first?
That ain't the case thoug, to be honest.
Here is my way of doing things.

Talk with the person in public,
keep the posts to quote on a later association in the argument,
if it gets that far.

Send a PM while the matter is up and drive a privat conversation while doing the public as well.
(This way you can cover a lot more of the persons problems.)

If i may point it out, "We don't WANT to ban anyone, as far as I have my mind set"
I never act with the Ban tool for a personal matter.

While i have this up..
To PM a person who got something to argue about may save that person from harming him/her self in public, thus helping them staying in the guild.

On the other hand "some" people tend to think that when they get Mod powers, its all about banning those who break a rule or throw lightning on them.
No its about using them as a last resort, otherwise you agree to help members when accepting the Mod status.
Not just when they ask for it,
But also when a person is hurting his/hers own reputation in the guild.
(I try to talk with them, calm them and get them to stop the bad posting)

As far as I have seen, good people tend to get in a bad mood just as easy as anyone else,
may it be newbies or under aged people who haven't been on the forums for to long.

... Hm I lost track on my reason to say this..
Anyhow, Ban = last resort or due to strong offense of the rules
Otherwise we talk to the person in PMs or the regarding topic.

(at least thats how I work with things around here, trying to help anyone in need)

Oh, and I may as well say, Sorry for being inactive for a period. ^.^
