Satanism as a whole isn't really about worshipping Satan. The people who are Satanist believe in themselves other than another being. Which in this day and age is a good thing considering what weak self-esteem and confidence humanity has in itself. The only reason they're called Satanists is to scare the self-rightous Christians away..

The term can apply to any number of belief sets which celebrate values associated with the Abrahamic Satan, from rebellion to pride. The term can be used to describe people who worship the Abrahamic Satan, people who worship a generic "Satanic" figure, atheists who believe in a conceptual Satan... there are also some lesser followed beliefs.

A poorly-thought out reactionary vessel for the impotent rage of teenagers and the equally impotent desire to rebel against Judeo-Christian values. The hypocrisy is implied in that sentence.

Kostbarer Alptraum GilAskan Kostbarer Alptraum Kakei Setsunai I found it rather interesting when I read about it.
But I don't believe in organized religion. Likewise. I'll stay secular for a little while longer. I think you mean secular, rather than atheist, in this context. Religious is the opposite of secular. Theist is the opposite of atheist. Hahah, all right, I give into your intimidating explanations. It would have been easier to say I'll stay a treehugger. X) Treehugger is a religion now? eek When did this happen?

xStephanx I remember there was a sect of Christianity so devoted to the idea that G-d is both all-loving and all-powerful that they had to worship Satan and please Satan throughout their life, then repent on their deathbed to be carried off to Heaven to meet the all-forgiving G-d. Anybody remember their name or if their still around? I found them. Their name is the Yezidis, but my description is horribly inaccurate. Wiki says so.
