I've got one of those weird dog like cats. She loves playing fetch. Its funny. Also she'll come running when you call her, and tends to meow at people when they come at the door like a guard kitty.

My cats respond to their names, one of them is my constant companion when I'm home.
Dogs have Masters, Cats have Staff. Simple as that.

fluffy birdy what is a cat? 1- cats do what they want. 2- they rarely listen to you. 3- they're totally unpredictable. 4- when you want to play, they want to be alone. 5- when you want to be alone, they want to play. 6- they expect you to cater to their every whime. 7- they're moody. 8- they leave hair everywhere. CONCLUSION: they are tiny women in little fur coats. All of this is right, and that is a very interseting (and maybe true) conclusion. I want a cat, it will be a black, furry, ( not fuzzy, furry like a hampster furry) cat with green or blue eyes. Remember, though, Ceiling Cat is watching you. ;P

In my opinion cats aren't all the same. Its obvious that they have an equal instinct but i guess that the way they act only depends of the way that u take care of them. That's why there's wild cats and domestic. I have two now, one is a little wild and the other one its domesticated and they're tottaly diferent. In some way they adquire their personality based in their life style.

cats, in my experience, are kinda like small people with fur . . . .there are all sorts of personalities, and, as with people, most cats don't like not being in charge.still, they are pets, and they have to be taught to obey rules. my general method is to keep a spray bottle filled with cool water nearby, and when my cat does something it's not allowed to, i spray it's nose . . i use 'it' here because i have had cats of both genders, but none at the moment because i'm not allowed pets in the house im renting. if it's something like a mess in the carpet, that you don't know precisely when it happened, make sure you get the cat to look at the mess it made before you punish it, so it knows why . . .really, to a certain extent it's like teaching a small child how to behave.

im actually a dog person, but ive been over many cat-owners houses. i really dont like cats for the following reason.
1. unlike dogs, they stop everything when a stranger enters, and persist to stare at it.
2. i dont like animals that look like theyre having deeper thoughts than i am.
3. they either look like theyre plotting to kill me, or they look like they have something of mine and wont give it back.

LOL!!!! My cats can be like that, but mostly it's the opposite--they're convinced that we're out to kill them!!!

Calypsophia a cat is independant, dignified, curious, likes affection best when it's on her own terms, solitary, self-sufficient. I dont own cats.. my cats own me lol Agreed. The four cats whom reside in my home love me only when they want to. I have to force myself on them.
