I agree 100% with TalaRayne. If you're going to dress Lolita, make sure you do it right and properly. I'm still collecting clothes for my Lolita wardrobe and I only have three skirts, two blouses, and two pairs of shoes.
I recommend these places to get clothes for Lolita Blasphemina's Closet Victorian Maiden Innocent World Angelic Pretty Baby, The Stars Shine Bright In the Starlight Moi-meme-Moitie Metamorphose Temps de Fille
I'm currently saving up to get bloomers, a petti, and a bonnet from Starlight

gothic_lolita_chic wow, not a single person congratulating me? that's dissapointing. it's really a shame so many people are so quick to call someone a liar. okay, 1. I'm American 2. The Store is American, and is located near Hollywood, so that's one reason they are helping me 3. second reason they are helping me is that i have to raise $8000 to go to this so i just asked for some help. 4. be "sponcering" i mean just donating an outfit 5. i dont really care if Hollywood doesn't like lolita, if I can wear lolita at my school and not get burned, then i can wear it there 6. The event will be in Spokesmodel were I walk the runway and then try to sell something. I'm wearing Lolita so I'll be dressed like a doll, so i'll probably be selling a costume store, i'm not sure yet 7. the store is called The White Peacock 8. the website for the event is http://www.worldchampionships.tv9. i pride myself in being a well-mannered lolita, and to be honest i'm ashamed that you guys say this is BS. Believe it or not, I do have feelings. Now if you guys are done burning a poor little teenager, does anyone have any advice for me? heart heart heart heart Even if Hollywood doesnt like Lolita, you still are wearing it down the runway. You have to think about both side of your life : modeling and Lolita. You have to choose which is more important to you: Getting signed or showing Lolita spirit. Even if you are selling this one brand (although I would hardly call White Peacock a lolita brand ) at the momment, other companies will be watching you. "poor little teenager" XD If your on the runway, height is what they look for! XD Be TALL my friend! I know where your comming from though, I had to give up long lolita hair because stylist-san says "Lets cut it all off!"
aaaaha XD heart heart heart heart

This isn't a matter of whether we are well-mannered and don't wish you luck but we're sick and tired of Lolita being dragged through the dirt by people. Saying that the White Peacock is sponsoring you does not help because I have never heard anything good about them so basically you're being sponsored by a sucky company and even better you're not really being sponsored because you are collecting the money yourself to go. The points of sponsors is for them to help you out with the money so be careful their not ripping you off.

Sailor Jerry Which bonnet? Bunny or regular? Regular. I'm too old for bunny lol. Besides, I'm into the whole black and white look. I'm more EGAL (Elegant Gothic Aristocrat Lolita). I know it's only EGA but my goddaughters (12 yr old triplets) say it's EGAL and they're sticking to it. They love it that their Aunty is a dollie.

I had never heard of them, but I looked up the site after reading this. I have to admit that some of the dresses seem to be made of poor materials, and one of the aprons was so thin that it was nearly transparent. Also, reviews were left calling the dresses "sexy" and for your lovers. Lolita, unless it is Erotic Lolita, is not really intended to be "sexy." If what you say is true, good for you. Just don't use the word "Lolita" on yourself, because that's giving the wrong impression.

1. Well, I sort of assumed that, given that you're going to Hollywood. Somehow, I doubt someone from Asia would bother coming all the way over here for a competition of that nature. 2. The only American "stores" I know of that sell lolita don't sell their own brand and don't focus on lolita. Also, the only American brands of lolita I know of don't have physical stores at all. 3. Okay. Eight thousand bucks. Whoop-dee-doo. So. They're helping you get this money how? 4. Oh. They're not helping you get the money. They're not really sponsors then. You're just wearing one of their outfits for free advertising. That's not the same thing at all. 5. You wear lolita to school? I'd love to see photos. 6. LOLITA IS NOT A COSTUME. LOLITA IS NOT A COSTUME. LOLITA IS NOT A COSTUME. Have I said it enough yet, or do I need to repeat myself again? 7. The White Peacock is low quality, ripped off designs, with terrible materials and a worse reputation. The fact that they're donating an item to you to wear without offering you money should say something already. Also, I'd really love to see you wearing this little get-up they're offering you. 8. I don't doubt that you're in the event, to be honest. It's the sponsoring part I doubted--but you already cleared that up for me! 9. Lolitas don't have to have good manners. Any one who changes their personality to follow a fashion is just asking to be kicked in the teeth; especially if they turn into doormats. Plus, I was pretty polite with you. I just asked what store it was that was sponsoring you before you got all snippety. One more thing: I've met ten-year-olds who better know not to expect praise for having done nothing but brag. Take their example, please, and next time show your accomplishment, provide proof, before you start bragging about how awesome it is.
As for advice:
1. Don't wear lolita to the event, especially not anything by the White Peacock. Their clothes aren't lolita, and those that they say are lolita are made of low quality materials and have the wrong shape and style for lolita garments. Also, you're promoting a product--if you're promoting your clothes, you obviously are not prepared. This isn't meant to be cruel, but you really need to do more research about lolita and about brands that are and are not high quality, among other things. 2. LOLITA IS NOT A COSTUME. One more time, just for effect and to get it through there. Lolita really is not a costume at all. It's a fashion style you wear, not a role that you put on. If you want to wear a costume for the event, dress up as a witch of something. 3. Don't expect people to gush over you just because you're doing something "special"; this is the internet, we demand proof. Even more so than we will, Hollywood will rip you to pieces for pulling a high and mighty attitude off the bat. Why do you think all those child actors and actresses fall into the pits like Lindsey Lohan or Britney Spears and her sister have? Make sure you're confident, but don't go over the top and do NOT get all sore if they don't praise you immediately for every thing you do or say. 4. If you want to actually wear lolita properly [which, from the sounds of things you generally don't; I haven't seen pictures so I can't confirm it, but your comments really make me think you're probably having some issues with the basic concepts] look at Daily Lolita to see real life examples of girls who wear lolita on a daily basis. Good examples to keep in mind are Briony and Layla, ShieldKitten, and Spookify.

Just don't use the word "Lolita" on yourself, because that's giving the wrong impression. The White Peacock is pretty notorious. They rip off designs, used to use stolen photos, and their materials and workmanship are awful. Before they opened a webshop, they used to sell on eBay only. So many people were duped into buying their goods, thinking that they were getting Japanese brand quality items.
It's all a matter of research. The White Peacock is pretty terrible.

thank you for all the advice! also, i am perfectly aware that the White Peacock isn't really lolita (which is why i'm trying to sell a costume store, not lolita store, and i'm trying to dress as a doll) also, should i be picky? I'm happy that they are donating to me, bad quality or not. Also, i would never do ero-lolita, or anything that's a shame to Lolita. I have looked at the White Peacocks clothes and i have found some things i can work with. Also, i'd like to apologize for some things. number one is making this topic with out properly explaining first. i was just really happy and excited and stupid. That is just my personality because my mom only praises me when i accomplish something. Please respect that i've been raised to react in this manner. Second is too all those who commented on the "poor little teenager" message i put in. lol, i ment that as a joke, so sorry for not making that clear. thirdly, i apologize for saying they were "sponcering" me, when i ment just donating. To me, they are the same thing, they are helping me, and taking a load off my shoulders. And finally i apollogize for those who thought i ment i was calling the white peacock "lolita". What I ment was that I, a lolita, was going to Hollywood. The actual store was really just a side note. Also as i said before, I know that there clothes are not actual lolita, and it's a shame I didn't get a reply from the other stores that had actuall lolita clothes. So I am dressing as a doll or employee and "selling" a costume store, that might have an outfit like a doll... or vampire... or whatever your costuming needs. So overall, I'm sorry for not making my intentions clear. To all of you people who gave me positive advice and congradulated me, thank you! i'll keep it all in mind! heart heart heart

TalaRayne gothic_lolita_chic Also, i would never do ero-lolita, or anything that's a shame to Lolita. erololi is a substyle, not a shame to lolita fashion. Fetish lolita is a shame to lolita fashion um.. Lolita IS a fetish.... I hate to break it to you, but it's the fetish of women dressing up and acting like under age girls ...and it's really popular. Also I don't think there is anything wrong with fetish loli even name brand put out fetish clothing.. Just though I should clear that up... sorry that was a bit off topic...

It's only a fetish if you make it sexual. Personally, underage girls don't turn me on. Acting/dressing like an underage girl does not turn me on.
It's about elegance and class to me, not erections, sorry.
