I used to be super super allergic to kitten dander. We're talking a full out flu-season all over if I even pet a kitten. Thankfully I grew out of that. heart

After college I might either live with my parents a bit longer so I can get a head start on paying off my loans, or I might move out. If I move out, I'm most definitely getting a kitten once I get financially secure. xd

Araweniel: All of the cats at my mum's go outdoors and they've only ever had fleas once. It was the most miserable experience ever, but thankfully a one time only incident. We don't do any preventative maintenance to keep the fleas away either.

My husband is pretty allergic to cats, but we got one anyway, because it was super important to me. We bought a HEPA air filter for the apartment and Violet gets rubbed down with Allerpet Solution once a week and it seems to mostly keep the allergies in check. Most days he doesn't have any reaction that I can see, and I don't think he's taken any antihistamines since the first week we had her.

Before the Allerpet and air filter, he was taking anti-histamines daily and was still very congested and sneezy.

Omgomgomg, getting another kitty this week! ::squees:: I hope the one I have picked out is still there when I go to adopt her.

She's been at the Humane society for several months and they just sent her over to the PetSmart adoption centre to increase her chances of getting adopted. I hope she stays till the end of the week.

If not, that's okay too. There's another cat at the Humane society who I really like, though she needs to finish being dewormed before I could bring her home. She's had two doses of Strongid-t, but I found worms on her bottom today when I was grooming her.

:bounces around:: I'm so excited about getting a second kitty. Now I need to go get a second litterbox and all that kind of stuff.

Update: My little sister is like a "princess" to my father. Always gets what she wants, yadda yadda. Apparently she now wants a kitten, so talks are happening between my parents about adopting one from the local shelter. It's a newborn, just about 10 weeks old. whee I'mma go crazy in this guild if I can get it. rofl

Woohoo! So nice when having spoilt siblings works to your own advantage. whee

I really hope you get your kitty. Do you have a specific one picked out yet, or do you just know which litter you're going to get your cat from?

Well they have one litter of kittens, all pretty much the same in looks, and as far as I know, they're all female. A few have been sold already, so if I'm to get a kitten it'll be within the next week.

I saw a picture that my mom printed out. Not sure of the website, else I'd link to it. They're tabby cats with a grey / white mix. I'd rather it be tan, but if I can get a kitten, I'm not going to be picky. xd

The hard part is going to be trying to come to an agreement with my sister on a name. gonk

Mmm indeed. A grey kitten is better than no kitten. I'm kind of in a position of being perhaps fussier than I should be. The hubby decided he didn't like my first choice for second-kitty and he hasn't met my second choice for second-kitty yet, but he did say he was okay with this other cat that I like, but don't have any special affection for. Part of me thinks I should just go with the kitty he said he's okay with, before he changes his mind on a second-kitty entirely, and part of me wants to do my best to convince him of one of my selected candidates.
