Lori2345 WHY THE FRACK ARE WE STILL HAVING THIS DAMNED CONVERSATION?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!I mean can't you ppl see it?!?! Every section is just as improtant as the next. We all work hard and we all do the same damn thing. (okay not exactly) At my school it is this same topic that causes drama and hurts the overall band preformance in rehersal and at shows of any type. It is this same attitude that makes it almost imposible (did i just say that?!) to work with anyone outside your own section. This needs to end ASAP 'cause if it dosen't then every band that has this problem will fall apart and will never do anything good ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As LT. Riza-Hawkeye said "your all in the same band, and a band is only as good as its worst section" o_0 Calm down! It's a discussion of people's opinions. And I, myself, agree with the fact that no section is greater than the band... But I still think percussion is best, although the rest of the ones I know are lazy. -_-

uuuuummmm everyone knows the laziest section of the band are the flutes
yeah they basicly b***h more than anyone else in the band, and thier stuff is oh so heavy, and in my band they were always taking breaks

Firizangetsue I have to go with percussion...Not because I am the section leader of the basses and the overall percussion section leader...But because we keep the band alive, we give it some flavor and give the crowd something to look at. The cheerleaders are there for all the horny guys and the perc. section is there for the people who aren't into the bubble heads in tight clothes. We are the band...and we don't parade out in gay clothes like the guard... yea right like we parade out in gay clothes. im a newbee at marching guard but i have seen then for three years, and we have the bes clothes ever. nothing skimpy or over exadreated. im also in the flute section in my school, and i saw the high school that im going into, they look way to hot to be in.

Kokihi ...stupid topic! stare I don't think there is a most important section of the band. if you took any of them out, the music wouldn't sound good. Heres what i meen: without the percussion theres no rhythm without the low brass the music has no "umph"(ever heard an epic song with no low brass? didn't think so.)without high brass the music is emptywithout wood winds there would be no one to make everyone else look good =P just kidding. Without Guard there isnt really much to look at unless you understand marchingall the sections of the band are needed equally. (tho i do hate it when people think drumming is so easy a baby monkey with 1/2 a brain cell could do it, you don't have to be an a** about letting them know its not that simple.) OMG THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You cant compare the sections because they are all so different and each one contributes positively- I dont think it's worth arguing over. even if there arent drummers there is always someone to keep rhythm. Its all about listening to eachother. does anyone's band ALWAYS practice with their drummers? Mine doesnt and we do fine without them.

why can't you ppl get over your stupid insecruities and realize that WE ALL are in this together. We all are the same in many ways and none of us would be in a marching band if we didn't want to be in one.
Why are you all so blind to the big picture?
Do you all think that the only fun thing to do is degrade those who work as hard as you and ppl in other sections?
I mean do you even realize that alll of us are in the same family? Only another band kid can understand the amount of work we put in; and the amount of fun we have; and the amount of satifaction we get out of that final show and and a whole season of marching.
Why can't you see it?

You know, this thread would make much more seance if it was in the main forum titled. "Your favorite section" or something like that, but there really... REALLY is NO most important section. every sections is just as important as the next.
