Si-Shen Part-Time Viking Si-Shen Part-Time Viking Zedo_Saeron As are future Mass Effect Titles, and Gears of War titles. I told those 360 fanboys...but they didn't believe me. Why didn't they believe me? Uh. Try again buddy. Both of those games are published by Microsoft Game Studios... So no, just no. Hate to burst your bubble but MSoft ONLY has the rights to the original Mass Effect and Gears of War. Both publishers have already stated that they are looking at bringing the series to OTHER consols for the sequals. His comment, was refering to future titles, NOT current titles. Besides, as of right now, Gears isnt technically an exclusive, its now a PC game. But is still published by Microsoft under the Games for Windows banner. I would like to see where you're drawing that from, because Microsoft knows business, if they back a game for publication, they will surely have their hand in the rights of the series. Right before Mass Effect went gold, during an interview, Bioware staff suggested that they were looking to expand the sequals of the games, to OTHER consols. As a second note, the people covering it, stated that a similar rumour had come from the people behind Gears of War. Twas on G4 actually, I believe its mostly because they are realizing that the 360 isnt the only consol anymore that can handle really high end graphics. It's like Ninja Gaiden II. Microsoft is publishing it, but it doesn't mean that Microsoft owns the Ninja Gaiden series, they just own NG2 for the 360.

Sailorcancer2004 Si-Shen Sailorcancer2004 Si-Shen Sailorcancer2004 Si-Shen I find alot of 360 fan boys are on a level that makes all previous fan boys put to shame. They are so full of themselves, they can't see obvious flaws with the hardware (Red Ring anyone?) and will always get a replacement, yet would drop another companies system in a second for the same type of failure. It is the most over hyped system in the world and they can't believe that developers wouldnt put hundreds of exclusives on it and only it and boycot Sony. They think the trend of Sony loosing exclusives is only for Sony games going to the 360, not the other way around. Ignorance is their way, and hopefully they will die off and not have children to prevent further contaimination. TRUE! They make Nintendo fanboys look reasonable. Which is hard to do, after talking to one you want to take a gun and shoot yourself in the head. I like calling Xbox 360 fanboy sweet sixteen girls. Because they act like them ALL the time. They go around bragging about how their console has the best games, but then go around and BEG for a game when it's PS3 exclusive. VF5, DMC4, FF13, MGS4, Yakuza 3, etc. And then they use the reasoning that the 360 has a higer sales rate which means that if they port it they get a higher profit then if they kept it exclusive. But with that logic why not port it to the Wii? Atleast the Wii UNIVERSALY has high sales rates unlike the PS3/360 which does good in region base. BUT NO! That's stupid, because the Wii can't handle the game. If you ever read the news at DailyTech, avoid reading comments on any Sony news, 360 news, and blu-ray vs hd dvd news. I swear the 360 fanboys cant say enough about how bad the PS3 is, how great their broken boxes are, and I also believe that they are the primary bashers of blu-ray on the site. They have noticed that PS3 fans have started to not comment as much, with smart a** remarks like "They are finally learning they wasted their money", when I suspect its more likely they are tired of arguing with people that act like spoiled brats. Try going to the Sega Boards. Or what they should be called Xbox 360 sub boards. They're all 360 owners and pretty much act like your DailyTech people. Hell if theres good news for the PS3 it either goes in the general sega board or the 360 board. I'm really close to just ditching the whole online stuff with VG news and stuff. Everything is just so fan based any more it's just retarded. I get Game Informer cause of GameStop the stuff in it is out dated, but hell I could get my info from them. And just use sites like IGN to get pictures and videos. I remember saying this on the Sega boards a lot before I got banned that I think this gen of games is going to be pretty bad and will cause a console crash. I think we one. Games now are just really bad, most of the VG world aren't even gamers. Most of them are just people who clued in last min and think that they're gamers cause they can play Kingdom Hearts or Halo well. And I think that's how fanisms got so horrible, so many non gamers came in and wanted it to be like their monday night football crap. hell Backstreet Boys/Nsync fangirls were never this bad! But like my friend told me, where kinda in a video game crash. Anyone who plays games on the Playstation or Saturn from that era of gaming will see that games now are like DUMB DOWN a lot! A game on normal mode from back then is what hard mode is now. Games that are hard are pretty much bashed by reviewers for being hard and stuff. You are so right, I have already seen many dumbed down games, a big one is Oblivion, they wanted to hit more people and they dumbed it down so far that it can be really annoying at times from a hardcore stand point. I recall when FF XII launched, the major complaint seemed to be how complicated the whole skill system was. I just shook my head, without the tutoral, I had it figured out in a couple minutes. Its likely going to be a massive drop in real good quality games, and then next gen see a return to the hardcore. Frankly, when I hear somoene say they are a gamer because they have beaten KH 1 and 2, and or played Halo 3, first thing I ask is "what else have you played?" and if they say nothing or only list a couple other games, I comment on them saying "your not a gamer yet, keep trying". I have been playing games since Mario jumped his way onto the NES, had a Gensis, N64, Game Cube, PSone, 2, 3. I even got an old atari system a while back that I played alot, not to mention I have been a PC gamer for a while too. I tell people that have played 3 or 4 games and think they are gamers, that when they have played HALF as much as me, they can say they are gamers. I know I come across as a Sony fanboy usually, but my support is for Sony and Nintendo, I distrust MSoft and don't believe they have the best intentions for true gamers, not now. I know the feeling... When I would counter what people at the sega boards said they decided it right to lable me a Sony fanboy. YET this one guy who refused to buy a PS2 based on the fact it didn't have the graphics level of an Xbox is called a hardcore gamer. Hell... I went to gamestop to trade in transformers the game on PSP. Because I'm in GAP each month if you vote you are able to win the top 3 voted games for the month for one of the consoles. I've won twice *PS2, and PSP*. Anyways I didn't want the transformers game so I decided to trade it in for some in store credit. Talking to the guy he asked me you know the normal questions. Like if I was sure I wanted to sell it and not trade it in? Cause it was sealed after all, I said no. And he wanted to know why I had it, I mean a perfectly decent question, I told him about GAP. And he asked if I had a lot of Sony consoles I told him that I had PS, PS2, PSP, and PS3 and he was like OH a Sony Loyalist huh? I laughed soughtly and said that I didn't really see myself as one. And explained how I had in my entertainment stand in my room a Wii, Dreamcast, Saturn, and Xbox. And he just talked about how he was one till this gen. I just was like ok... To me I find it weird that I'm a Sony Fanboy/Loyalist. I mean to me being one mean that I supported the console and wouldn't even bother with the others. I might be to old to remember playing the NES before my older brother took it and sold it but I have a veriety of consoles that I've used throughout my life. But I guess I might as well be close to a Xbox and Nintendo loyalist. Hell maybe even Sega... I'm really only like missing one or two consoles to own the majority of them. Kingdom Hearts and Halo fans are really stupid. I remember this one girl making a post saying how she went to GameStop and the guy told her KH3 was coming this summer. Once she found out it was a lie went to Wikipedia where it said KH3 might come to PS3. She got really pissed and was complaining about how Square just wants us to spend money, and how they think we're made of money. Then there was another girl who freaked out when she found out KH was coming to the PSP and DS. She didn't want to go spend money on getting both JUST FOR KH, and was enraged that Square wouldn't put them on the PS2 so she could play them. Or was it a he... Halo fans are more... flexable, they're more Xbox fanboys so they pretty much go for the new hardware and don't really care that the game is coming to a new console and expect it cause they want HD and stuff. Thankfully I have shaken the label of Sony Loyalist at my local EB, they have clued in that I spend more on PC games then any other, although they are well aware I really dislike MSoft. I have my opinions, but I can also point out the good points and bad about other systems I dont like. Frankly, I find that anyone that claims to have been a Sony supporter till this gen, is spewing more crap then a manure spreader (sorry, if that doesnt make total sense, but I live on a farm). I remember how much I loved my Turbographix, I didnt even care I was missing the mario games, after all, I had Sonic !! heart We missed the SNES, but that was because we had to choose and for whatever reason, we pointed to a Gensis. If you take into account all the systems I have owned, Im more of a Nintendo loyalist or fanboy then Sony. I've had to deal with people and KH3, I always try to make people realize its all just theory, and that Square-Enix wont announce anything likely until sometime near or after the FF XIII launch. Rumour has it also thats when, if they do it, they will announce a FF VII remake. Mostly spawned by interviews with different staff, along with the guy behind FF VII, saying he would love to go back but he was really busy with a few titles, including FF XIII, and that it would have to be sometime after that. Many hope it will come out on the 360, but for all we know, there could already be paperwork on the game, even though its not official, that links it to Sony. Frankly, I think S-E, although they are opening some to multi-consol production, will stick their real money makers on Japanese products, as a way to support a fellow Japanese company. As for the xbox fanboys and hardware, its bad to bring that up, they look at the PS3 in the old manor, not taking into account the potential of the Cell, and deem it lower tech then the 360, which, is really just a PC, squeezed into a little white box. An ugly box IMO too, I hate the design and colour of the main box. Black doesnt help either, the design is just ugly to me. I have heard Xbox fans go on about how great it is that the HD player is seperate, and it makes it better then the internal blu-ray player on the PS3, saying they can use it on their system OR watch an HD-dvd on their PC. They shut up when people ask "so you have an HD monitor then eh?" because they know full well, the player is just a normal dvd player if you dont have the proper monitor. That made me think, have you heard about the rumours that the 40 gig PS3 has a 40% failure rate? Sony has denounced it, and as of yet, I have seen no investigative reports to even support an above avg PS3 failure rate. It made me think that the rumours have been started by 360 fanboys as an attempt to make their systems massive, and horrible failure rate seem not so bad.

A pitty really, they could make the game look and play so much better on the PS3. It could, but it wouldn't have happened. Itagaki dislikes Sony, I mean he didn't work on sigma he just gave his consent to let the project be done. And if I'm right he didn't really praise it and wasn't too overly like proud of it either. He didn't HATE IT but he didn't praise it you know. Also if we all remember he reasoning for being XBOX exclusive last gen was because he wanted to have his games on the most powerful hardware? Well that's pretty much BS after the whole NG biggrin S came out. And then he went further to say the PSP isn't in his eyes a handheld but a console. And it was because of the hardware. Let me find a quote: ""The reason is because the PlayStation Portable is basically designed on the philosophy of having a console that you can take with you. They are basically just toning down what we see on home consoles such as the 360 or the PS3; whereas the DS was looking at a whole new method of input," Itagaki said. "If I was going to make a game for PSP, I would be better off making a game for PS2, because they are essentially attempting to do the same thing."" I find that to be pure bull s**t, and would love to courner Itagaki and get a true answer from him. What the hell do you think the GameBoy was made for? What the hell do you think handhelds are? They are basically portable consoles. And if Nintendo continues on how they've been going their next handheld will be as powerful as the GC. GB=NES GBA=SNES DS=N64 Also memory serves Itagaki back in the day said that he was supporting both DS and PSP before he retired. As far as I can say he just doesn't want to admit that he's a Xbox fanboy, and just hates Sony.

It made me think that the rumours have been started by 360 fanboys as an attempt to make their systems massive, and horrible failure rate seem not so bad. I don't care if they think I'm one. Cause I could easily shake it off, or make them wonder what I am. I had a gen for years, and then in 1998 or 1999 got a N64 which frankly I didn't use much except for Pokemon games. I just didn't really care for most of the games, but then again when you're 10 and some N64 games are $60 you can't really get that many. Then in summer 2003 I got my PS2, which to me opened up a lot of what I am today. To me FFVII is a Playstation game. If you look at the series with the exception of PC ports almost EVERY FFVII related thing has been done on a Sony platform. AC was put on UMD, you have CC on PSP, and they're making a blu ray edition of AC, not to say they did a Tech Demo of FFVII for the PS3. I wouldn't want a remake of the game I wasn't to overly amazed by it. But to tell true it KINDA wouldn't pull me off if they did it. They would make huge ammount of money off it. The one thing I notice they attack is the PS3s RAM. Saying that 256MB isn't enough for anything. And because they're just looking at numbers and not at anything else when you talk technical you completely throw them off. Explaining to them that Cell and RSX can share RAM, and that the 360s main RAM speed is clocked at the same speed as the PS3 VRAM (700MHz). While the PS3s main XDR RAM speed is clocked at 3.2 GHz, which means it's a hell of a lot faster then the 360s RAM is. With the HD DVD player, it REALLY only shows on 360s with HDMI. You don't even notice the HD unless you use VGA and have it shown in 720p or higher. Same with PS3, you don't notice the HD in ANYTHING unless you have some sort of HD cable hooked up. Yeah, that was crushed FAST. Sony said: "We are very proud of the quality and reliability of PLAYSTATION 3 and are disappointed that such extremely sloppy journalism has resulted in this totally inaccurate story... Since launching the 40GB PS3, we have experienced a fantastic jump in sales and the failure rates have remained at the very low level that we not only strive for, but have been achieving since the launch of PS3" I don't know if you had this. But I remember asking if the PS3 had any problems when it first came out. I remember PMing with this guy on Gaia who told me how horrible it was, and such. He told me how he worked at a gaming store and how people were bringing them back because of over heating. When I would ask other people they said the same thing, when I asked for a news article. I got the same respone "It's all over the internet go find it yourself".

MSoft likely jumped at the publishing rights for NG2, since they realized Team Ninja wasnt likely to make it exclusive, not after they saw the HD version of the first game hit the PS3. A pitty really, they could make the game look and play so much better on the PS3. And for some reason you assume that it's not going to be the same situation with Mass Effect and GoW2? It could, but it would be up to them if they want to do it or not. What Si-Shen is saying is that they are interested in doing multiplat with their games instead of what they did last games.

Sailorcancer2004 Si-Shen Sailorcancer2004 Si-Shen Part-Time Viking Si-Shen Hate to burst your bubble but MSoft ONLY has the rights to the original Mass Effect and Gears of War. That seems like a logical and potentially accurate theory, I noted that about how he kept with the 360, even though the PS3 is more powerful. I suspect if its not that he is a fanboy, its because he has something against Sony, maybe they didnt hire him early on or something and he is just pissy about it. As for the PSP, its a handheld, pure and simple, the whole point of a handheld is to give a person a portable consol, the DS is still just that, a consol (and not a very good one either, IMO). I wonder if Itagaki actually pushed to avoid having a 3rd party publisher because of his anti-Sony ways. Frankly, its a good thing NG2 is wanted in other parts of the world because he wont make much money in Japan on it. Too few have adopted the 360.

Sailorcancer2004 Si-Shen Sailorcancer2004 Si-Shen Sailorcancer2004 Si-Shen If you ever read the news at DailyTech, avoid reading comments on any Sony news, 360 news, and blu-ray vs hd dvd news. I dont care anymore what I get labeled, it has no real effect on my life. True, FF VII will likely forever be linked to Sony, as for the remake, I would love to see a remake simply because I never had a copy of the game and its hard to get my hands on a copy to borrow. I know the Blu-Ray version of AC is supposed to have more features, I dont have an HD TV but I might get it anyway. Your right about the tech specs, also I note they like to compare it to a standard PC or Mac, both of which have extremely powerful, system draining OS's running on them. I would say that about HALF of your standard PC or Mac specs are dedicated to just keeping your OS running. Without the massive drain of the standard OS, a system doesnt need to be a mini-PC. BTW, speaking of OS, I have to ask, is the user interface on the PS3 really all that horrible as people make it out to you? I frankly love the interface, its easy, nothing overly fancy but really easy to use. That and it looks sleek and clean IMO. I will eventually have an HDTV.. when I can afford it stare Then I will go HD with the PS3 for sure. Ive yet to buy any blu-ray discs simply because I dont have the TV for it. I think its funny people are spreading this failure rate stuff, because if it was failing that badly, so should the 80 gig version, since everything, other then what they removed (a couple USB ports, card readers and the emulator), is identical. So the 80 gig would be failing at the same rate. Ive not had the pleasure of speaking with people whome have claimed to have first hand accounts of the failures, and I rarely believe people when they say they work for a EB or Best Buy, or whatever since they never feel the need to show some proof. As for all the claims and lack of evidence, they dont have any proof to back up their claims, and they know that what is on the net is nothing but unsubstaintiated rumours. I bet half the people whome say they had a PS3 fail, are 360 fanboys. The kicker is when they say they got a PS3, if failed in a week, but just returned it to the store, didnt sent it to Sony and get a replacement, they say they got the money and got a 360. Ask them about the red ring and they say, without missing a beat, they had it once or twice, then ask why they didnt do the same thing, they try to make up excuses. I really do believe that its just some hostile rumour started by either fanboys, or maybe someone from inside MSoft itself.

Developers make MORE money by going multi-plateform then be selling out to one. MS would pay through the nose to keep it exclusive and would NOT see profit from it, for a long long time. Besides, for ME2, Bioware could just look at MS and say "Sorry, we arnt going to keep it exclusive." no matter what MSoft offers.

But Sony wanted it as a launch for the PS2 in Japan, so they denied him the extra month. Something I'm sure pissed him off, and from what I've seen he's somewhat of a hard head, and can easily be offended type of guy. I think he likes Microsoft because they treat him well. From what I see, after DOA2 was done with and he was working on DOA3 he saw the Xbox and decided to get back at Sony by supporting it because it's hardware was more powerful then the PS2. Something that I think in his head he could kill two birds with one stone. Make DOA look and play alot better then Tekken on the PS2, and to pretty much shove in Sony face what they're missing. Also I think Microsoft treats him VERY well, he's the only Japanese developer that believed in them and stuck with them since day 1 with the Xbox, something that they don't want to loose.

I have FFVII, I got it at a local store for like $20. I'm amazed that it's as pricey as it is and FF8 and 9 are still $20. I do know that the PS3 OS takes up more RAM then the 360s does. I think it's like half more or something. The PS3s OS is ok, it's pretty simple and gets the job done. But IMO all the consoles OS are pretty dull. But like you said if they fancy OSs it would use up all the systems power. BUT I think they could some how merge some Linux into it to keep it on the down low. Like cell phones are doing now. I'd like to get a HDTV one day... yeah, I don't really think a lot of them talk all that ture about it. I'm sure that there are some PS3s that go crazy and stop working. I saw this one post once about some guy who got a 360 at EB games and returned it twice, and when it broke a 3rd time he traded it in and wanted to get a PS3. According to him the guy wouldn't give him one and told him "dude sony is in trash right now cause the ps3 got no games and that blu-ray crap, you should stick with the 360 cause 360 got more games". I don't know if it's true, but it's not the only time I've heard about EB/GS giving out more advice then they should. I remember going to the GS by my house, theres this guy that kept on calling the PS3s UI "Dash Board" I was like it's XMB, Dash Board is what the 360 uses.
