I'll tell you what you do.
You take a large, preferrably brass instrument and beat her over the head with it.
Night is your best bet, maybe catch her walking down a dark alley....
mad
But if you don't feel like possibly going to jail then, well, then may God be with you. xD
I couldn't resist. That sucks though.
Maybe keep complaining, like, CONSTANTLY? I'unno. D:

We have two drum majors and they're both inexperienced juniors. The Asst. DM actually knows how to keep time and does a better job but she keeps trying to match the head DM so she ends up dragging too.
We thought the problem might be when they mark time. Whenever they do it, they pick up their feet all the way off the floor and bend their knees a lot. We were going to say something to her but last time we made a suggestion, she got really defensive. She thought we were picking on her and trying to be mean just because we were seniors .
I honestly have no idea why she got the job. Our director doesn't even really like her that much either but he's our new director and the old one chose her so he can't take away the position until next year.

Guh. Our drum major. Don't even get me started. stare
First of all, I suspect she tried out for drum major was because she thought it'd look good on her college application.
She's awful. They only let her conduct for about... ten sets during the entire show. She is an AWFUL musician, like, she really has no idea what she's doing. She can't even march, and she's a junior.
And she has no backbone. Everyone yells at HER. Isn't she supposed to be the one in control of the band?
Our band has an informal banquet every year, and typically, the band director takes the drum major with him to dinner with his family, and they go pick out awards for everyone in the band. (We only have 26 people... T.T)
They're taking a senior with them instead.
So, no she can't conduct in time. She also can't manage to stay in step.

We just get yelled at. There isn't really anything we can do. Majority doesn't rule in our band, it's mostly the directors saying, "Follow the drum major no matter how badly he (not she cuz our girl drum major is good) screws up, and if you try to tell me why it's happening you are out of marching band"...

Well, it's the first time in three years that we've had issues with drum majors, but, we started the year with three, two seniors and a sophomore.
One of the seniors is in the pit, which is my section. Anyways, he didn't do conducting, other than drill team stuff. The other two were conducting all the time, the senior in front on the 50, the sophomore doing the running, from the end zone, to the back 50, to the 35s on the front.
Well, the head dm, the senior, quit in the middle of competition season, which was a HUGE problem. The sophomore had to take over the whole thing, and she conducts so wide that she drops time all over the place, and the winds are always slow in the second movement, which puts the pit in a tough spot trying to stay with the band, because when someone gets yelled for a tear, it's the pit, because "You guys are standing, so what's the problem?!?!" Slow winds, dumba$$!
Sorry, had to get that out sweatdrop sweatdrop

Oh that sucks ^ Our pit gets blamed for a lot of stuff too. The drum major drags and the pit has a hard time following her. She's always yelling at them to watch her but its hard even for us on the field. They do a good job of keeping time, its not fair that they get in trouble for rushing when the real problem is the DM dragging.

heh... when ever our drum major drags or speeds up, our snares play 8th notes in the right time. either that, or we play at the right speed so the rest of the band doesn't get screwed up and they just follow us instead of the DM. ...cose...we give our DM s**t all the time. xd
we have also set a metronome to the correct time and turned the volume to max then held it right behind his head if he drags or speeds up.

We also had a drum major who couldn't really keep time at our school. We had two really good drum majors which were both seniors, and one junior. One of the seniors was a drum major since he was a sophomore and the other since he was a junior. The junior drum major had horrible technique, and when ever he conducted, especially in sections with a tempo exceeding 120, his hands would fly around like a bird and no one could really keep timing with him. Or at least I couldn't... He also wasn't always exactly on beat with the lead drum major who always kept time perfectly. I just hope that this guy doesn't make drum major next year. We will all be doomed...

Most recently, when a drum major had trouble keeping time (mind, this was about two years ago), the answer was simple: shout at that b*****d to stop staring at me (Southridge people might know what I'm talking about), then watch a different drum major.

This year our show was Heros Fallen Not Forgotten (WORST SHOW EVER MADE! GAAH ) And most of the seniors had graduated, so all of our drum major consisted of was 10 freshmen who had only joined marching band for something to do. So yea, none of them could keep time to save their lives, so our drum instructor just yelled at them until they got it right.
