"And you truly believe he would just arbitrarily lock it away, just like that, without any word of explanation? What kind of fool do you think I am, Kero?" says Grayson with a heafty sigh. "Go... go talk to your sira... or whatever it is you call him... ask him what's going on. But don't play a guessing game. There are any number of reasons this could be happening. Look within, then look without. I don't know magic very well, but I do know that when a person's abilities, no matter if they are mundane or arcane, begin to act erratic, there is usually something wrong with the individual, themselves. They are either ill or have strained something or their... how did Mica put it..." he thinks for a bit then nods. "Their internal balance is out of whack."

Ai was sleeping in the garden. She seems to be so tired of late, but Hopian and Bez keep telling her that there was a very good reason for it. Hopian had tried to explain, saying something about her form changes using up too much energy, that when she had gone down to the ice and morphed to a cub-sized mini, she had somehow used up all her stores just to stay alive. Some of the explanation made sense, but not all of it, but the truth was, she was honestly too tired to even try to make sense of it all. Bez had come out to sit with her for the better part of the morning, but he was now inside fixing lunch and the sun was warm and sweet in her tiny little corner of the world. Too bad she didn't feel that warm and sweet inside. Her stomach was a rumbly mess and she was worried about Kero, though everyone kept assuring her he was fine and merely sulking. Sleeping was better than worrying, but even in her dreams, she was finding little to look forward to.

She slowly opens her eyes, then seeing Kero she grins. "You're back. How was your lessons?" Yawning, she moves over so he can join her on her sun-warmed perch.

Ai sits up with a start. "Kero, what wrong? Are you feeling ok... what the... a stone for that... what the hell... Hope... Hope, come here!" she lifts a paw to his forehead. "No fever. Have you been feeling okay... nothing out of sorts? You just got over the flu... maybe you're still under the weather... Oh heack, where is that brother of yours when someone needs him."

"Hope went hunting, dulcha. What's wrong?" says Bez coming out of the kitchen, wiping his hands on a towel.

"It's Kero... I told you something was wrong... he's not well... get Mica... get Shar... get someone! I don't know how to treat magical ailments." stammers Ai frantically.

"Setttle down,Ai... you're dream swamped. Kero is fine... aren't you, Brat?" says Bez hopefully, giving Kero a worried look.

"That's odd..." mutters Ai slowly calming down. "I lightened that spell... was going to lift it completely then you tried to psyche out old woman Filderson becuase she scolded ye for doing something ye didn't think she should have scolded ye for." She yawns again and shrugs. "I made it so you should get the stone only when you purposefully swear... or was it purposefully think of swearing?... with the intent to be mean... I thought I told you about that, as well... You've been so good about not swearing in public and all... I remember now... it was about a week and a half ago... I think. I might be off by a day or two though."

"But it was working perfectly fine until you got sick. That doesn't make any sense. I haven't tinkered with it since I reset it either. Tell me, has anything else been happening that doesn't seem right?" asks Ai shaking her head.

Bez hurriedly rushes Salunia indoors, trying to explain that Uncle Kero wasn't really swearing at Auntie Ai, just asking about something he heard.
