*Kero shakes his head*

Only when I really feel that emotion do they change I was afraid for a second...afraid that I would not be able to move from the fall...now...do you know what it means when my eyes turn, say...orange?

Sharmistra nods as she eats. "So, you truly don't have control. Then my theory is essentially correct. I've been attempting to devise a way an empath can reveal how they are responding to the world, which can be read by those who interact with them. Sometimes the feelings they experience are so strong, it interferes with the normal thought process. And if they cannot tell people they are frightened or angry or whatever, they are often misinterpreted, which leads to even more stress. Not that this truly helps, but it is an insight into how it works, if only for your race.

"As for orange, I'm not sure. It is one of the colors that confuses me. Does it ink to anger or frustration?"

The conversation goes on for some time before Tam returns, bearing a tray, heaped with savory meat pies and a crusty baked fish for Kero, whose skin is seared almost black.

*Kero's eyes turn emerald green...but he looks at Shar before he eats*

Neither...Orange is for longing, or desire...it's also the color for questioning...so, can you tell me what Light Green signifies, if dark green means I am happy?

Sharmistra thinks abut this for a bit while she eats some more of her dinner. After a moment, she puts down her fork and makes an educated guess. Hopian's notes were too clear on everything. I suspect he has others secreted away somewhere, most academic types would so as to protect their work from prying eyes, but as light green is still a shade of true green, where as orange is not a shade of red, a heightened state of happiness, such as joy. One can be content and happy and not truly be joyful."

Tam chuckles. "Close, but not the right answer I'm afraid. Kero, do you wish to enlighten the lady or shall I?"

*Kero bows to Tam, his mouth full of fish....and he refuses to swallow any bite unenjoyed...*

Tam smiles fondly at the cub and turns to the priest. "Yellow is the sign of joy, light green is when he is pondering a bit of mischief, I'm afraid... but then in part ye may be right to a small extent for Kero is truly happy when he manages to pull a prank off or tease me to such a point that I concede his barbs do sting."

Sharmistra hides her laughter behind her hands and nods to both the cub and bard. "So, our little Kero is a trickster is he? Is he quick of wit with a ready joke as well?"

*Kero swallows*

Sometimes...but not often...I prefer a good prank to a joke...

Sharmistra sighs. "A prank is fine and good, dear cat, as long as ye remember to keep it within limits. No more slate board dart contests... please... I'm still hearing about it from Brother Grayson."

*Kero shakes his head*

And wind up an invalid again...I don't think so....I'll just have to think of another way to prank him...something less damaging...and more funny...

Hmmmm?

The young healer rolls her eyes and shakes her head. "I think that for now, you need to confine your pranks to those who appreciate them, Kerobian. Brother Grayson does not and he is already angry. He wasn't at first, not when he thought ye'd be punished and it would be done with, but he is now. I fear Brother Mica and my coming over to see you has weighed heavily against you in his book. He is of the school that a troublemaker should never be coddled. By the way, your math classes will be done on a private basis with me for the time being. Until you..." she clears her throat and smiles..."catch up. Brother Mica thinks it best you avoid the dear brother until he's cooled down a bit."

"I was afraid of that when first I talked to him." says Tam quietly. He flashes Kerobian a sad smile. "He isn't a bad man, Kero... just one with a very narrow sense of humor."

*Kero's eyes have flashed to red...the faintest shade of red...but red nonetheless*

So what does he think the two of you should have done with a cub so ill he couldn't even stand up?
PostPosted: Sun Aug 09, 2009 9:29 pm

"Nothing... He's not cruel, Kerobian. He merely believes you should have come to us once you were well. That is all. Calm yourself, it really isn't what you think. He was upset that we went to you. Nothing more. Consider it a matter of face... pride, if you will. He wishes you no harm, but he believes we should have been more dignified and above that sort of thing."

"You came because I invited you." says Tam thoughtfully. "Doesn't he know this?"

Sharmistra smiles thinly and nods. "He knows. But I fear Brother Mica has not felt it important to explain why he felt compelled to acquiesce to your invitation. And to be truthfully honest he has not shared this with myself as well. But then the dear brother rarely explains the things he does, so it really isn't anything new. I myself was grateful for the chance to visit with you and tend to the cub. Though I had hoped to hear you sing. It is said you have the voice of an angel."

*Kero smiles in spite of himself, his red eyes fading away to grey*

He does...trust me...he does...

Tam mutters something under his breath that is perhaps better unheard and sets Kerobian into a fit of giggles, and finds a sudden interest in his meal. Once finished he stands up, smiles tells the two he will return is a bit. A small exchange of money with one of the stable boys and then he is back.

"An angel, ye say... tis a compliment, to be sure, though there are some who compare my sound to that of nails on a blackboard." he says sitting down and ordering an ale.

"Brother Grayson, no doubt, the man is completely tone deaf." laughs Sharmistra shaking her head. "It is a shame you do not have your instrument to accompany you tonight."

Tam merely smiles and sips his drink, waiting.

*Kero chuckles...then sends an image of Tam sitting in a corner to his Sira....with a repeat of what he had said earlier...how one should never curse in front of a priestess...*
