Tam blushes beet red and hightails it out of there, laughing over his shoulder. "Iffin ye don't know... I'm not about to tell ye. I'm raiding the cellar, iffin ye want to join me come on... otherwise, I suggest ye go and get some rest... From the sound of things they ain't coming out for a very long time..."

Tam sneaks into the kitchen finds a small round of asiago and a loaf of bread, then he raids the cellar for a mellow red wine. He carries it up to his room and asks Kerobian to portion out the cheese while he pours.

Tam pours them each a glass and then plops in a chair before the fireplace, which almost instantly begins to burn. He chuckles and nods at the fireplace. "It's a stasis spell. Saves on wood, less chopping is needed. Only burns when I'm in me chair... or in the case of really cold temperatures, when the air of the room gets cold enough to trigger it. Actually it is temperature that triggers it in the first place. When I sit in me chair it causes the air over the grate to drop rapidly. Thought of it, meself, one winter when I was walking the border lands and stuck by me lonesome in one of the worse guard shacks this kingdom has."

He sips his wine and sighs. "Actually this land is far larger than ye might think. Ma, keeps this little pocket her own... it's linked to her temple... but we're part of a larger world... sort of a medieval Japan of a sorts. That is where she met Dad. Maybe I'll take ye out in it someday. We sort of owe fealty to one of the lords there."

Tam salutes him and takes another sip. "Well, I, myself don't owe him anything... and Ma doesn't either when it comes right down to it. It is more the other way around, but he needs to keep up appearances and she needs a bolt hole. Ever since she fled Elysium, she's needed a home base. She lived at her temple for ages, kept her partners there and all... but when she met Dad, she decided they needed a more distant relationship with those who expect her to behave in a certain manner."

Taking a sliver of cheese and toasting it on a piece of bread, he watches it melt until it is just right.

"Anyway, ye'll be going back right? Now that everything is under control? I was thinking I'd stop by and see Shia before I set out again. Another mission has come down to the team and we're off... to India this time... to cleanse out a Kali cult that is terrorizing a small village. Should be a piece of cake... no biggies to watch out for.. just a bunch of fanatics."

Tam flashes him a knowing smile. "Welcome to the club of frustrated young men, Kerobian." and lifts his glass to the cat.

Tam sighs... "I might as well be one for all I get anything these days... " then he smiles wisely and lifts a finger into the air. "Trust me, Kerobian... with the wrong partner... it isn't at all what it is cracked up to be... and I swear all I ever had was one bad partner after another... I envy ye, truly I do. Yer one lucky man."

Tam chuckles wickedly..."Yer going to have one hell of a wedding night, boyyo... " Then he shrugs. "It's not as if I got a string of fair maidens knocking down me door. Don't know what it is about me either... I'm fairly well put together or so I've been told, but something always seems to put people off. Do I come across as an egotistical nerd, do ye think?"
