*Kero's eyes flash red a bit, but settle on green again*
No stunt did I pull, merely a bit of humor.

Br. Grayson turns to sit on a nearby barrel, clearly intrigued. "Good humor, bad humor... ill thought out humor, poorly timed humor... what? That does not sound like Talesian. He's always ready for a good laugh."

*Kero shakes his head*
Badly timed, probably, but His mate asked for it, saying that I was trying to be a muck-raker with my language, even though I cursed only in my head. Which is another thing that riles me up. Even in my own thoughts, I am not free. Last I checked, a being's mind was theirs and theirs alone. As long as I don't project my thoughts or feelings, why is Sira allowed to stick a moonstone in my mouth when I so much as THINK a curse word.
((My feelings as well, honestly. Kero merely thought the words to himself, yet he still was given the stone, though he did not project them.))

"Perhaps it has something to do with you being an empath..." suggests Br, Grayson. "Maybe you need to check your screens. I don't know about his mate. I've never met her. But if she's an empath, too, she could have been picking up on your intent, screens or no screens... though I doubt she heard your words. So that made him lose his cool huh? And you got the stone. You know, I was talking to him not to long ago and he said he had taken that spell off of you... and I don't believed he would lie to me. Maybe he meant he was easing it off you... wish I could help, Kero something still doesn't make a connection here. Was there anyone else present? That might have picked up on it as well. Another empath? A young one, perhaps? He is rather protective of the younger set you know. I saw him light into one of the acolytes one day when no other adults were around because he was swearing in front of a few of my younger students."

*Kero shakes his head, and then nods*
No...I check my screens daily. They're perfectly fine. I won't deny that it escalated, but it was that blasted stone appearing in my mouth that did it. I spat it onto the table, andone comment led to another until her mate made that sarcastic remark.

"I see..." says Br. Grayson, his eyes narrow and thoughtful. "And you, being the tactful creature you are did nothing to escalate things, right? Tell me this, Kero. Was he truly angry for the first incident or just disappointed? What really ticked him off? And what did he say when he did get mad?"

*Kero glares, but says nothing on it*
I won't deny I escalated it, but I am tired of being treated like a baby. I can't even say the word a** in my own...YECH!
*Spits out a moonstone*
There...you see what I mean!

"But he's not here.... and the spell still went off... That is truly odd. I was certain he said he was taking it off. I think you need to go talk to him about that... but don't lose you composure. I'm pretty sure that is what caused the fight between the two of you to begin with. I don't think it was the language itself, Kero. Let me ask you this... when you said whatever sarcastic thing it was that you said to his mate... did it trigger then?"

*He shakes his head*
No...oddly enough. And the language I used to reply to the jab....justified language, mind you...was more than foul enough.
((Honestly, he may have gone overboard, but Bez did ask for it.))

"Ah... and did Talesian rake you over the coals for using it or simply ask you not to repeat it?" asks the brother going back to his work. He thinks he knows what started the fight, but has no idea what is triggering the spell.

He threatened to spank me if I said it again.

"But he didn't punish you for saying it then, did he? That sounds fair enough... a clear warning. Must have been a good one, huh?" laughs the monk as he moves to a different container.

"And did he say I will definitely spank you if you do this or did he say something like if you do this here or there I might just spank you? Talesian has a mouth on him, too, and we've all heard it from time to time, but he's really careful about where he uses it." Grayson replies with a crooked grin.

He said I might just forget that I don't give spankings.
