But Shar is still sick and Andra tells him she can't teach him that day. He suggests he go see Mica instead. Only when he arrives at Mica's office, the elderly priest has paper work coming out of his ears.
"I'm sorry, Kerobian, I do hope you understand. I have some rather important work right now. Surely you have something important you could be doing too, so why not come back tomorrow."
And he finds himself standing in the courtyard, feeling as though he's being shuffled around buuuut not quite sure about it. Shar had been sick for days now and Mica did look a bit frazzled. sighing he considers his alternatives.

*Finally, he decides to simply go and see about studying combat with Brother Grayson, heading over to the arena, glad he had, as he always did, brought his blade with him...Grayson was as hard on those who did not bring their weapons...well cared for, at that...as he was on his students in mathematics*

There are no students in the salley, but sounds from one of the store rooms tells Kero there is someone about.

*Melding with the shadows, Kero looks into the storeroom...last time, there had been a roving thief in there, and he had nearly been brained. Thankfully, he had his venom*

Kero tries to edge his way in without being seen but suddenly a whistling sound is heard, just moments before a bo slams into his tail, shattering it's tuff.
"Try to trap me on my own turf will you..." growls a familiar voice, which suddenly trails off as a window is pushed open and Br. Grayson turns to see his assailant.
"Kerobian?" he says in confusion, "What are you doing here? Thank the Morning Lord you haven't grown a few inches taller... that could have been your head, cat."

*Kero shakes the shards of venom off his tufts, gently picking them out and swallowing them, letting his body recycle what it can*
I must really be getting behind in my lessons, if you can see me when I shadowmeld, Brother. How did you know I was here?

The brother points to a scattering of sand on the floor. "We've been having a series of thefts again, so I was doing a tally of what in the stores, but I knew I would be vunerable if one would come up on me unawares." He takes his foot and lightly moves it across the sand and it makes a faint slight scratching sound, one Kero had overlooked in his eagerness to trap a would be thief.

*Kero nods*
An excellent trap, and you managed to zap me. Might I impose on you today for a day's training in the combative arts, Master?

"No." says the brother firmly. "Your mind is too cluttered. I can see it in your eyes. There is something you need to do but you are avoiding it. Why?"

Br. Grayson frowns. "A kalidescope would have nothing on you right now." he replies gruffly. "Want to talk? I think you need to do that far more than you need to spar. I'm only tallying up the stores, I can listen and do both... a boring but necessary task... I would welcome the diversion."

I just had a fight with Sira last night, that's all.

"Must have been some fight to get you that upset. You two go at it all the time... never very seriously though. So what were you batting heads over this time?" says Br. Grayson as he digs into a box with a frown. "Hmmm. Padding for the practice vests seems a little down. Might just be someone trying to keep warm during the cold turn though. Could you mark it on that tally board over on that crate there. Yeah, that's the one. I'd say we're about half down on it... need to get more in."

*Kero notes it down*
Sira flipped at me last night, that's all. I'm just tired of being treated as if I were still a cub. Technically, I'm an adult lion, if one speaks biologically. So why does he feel the need to hold me down and still act as though I were five. He threatened to spank me last night, you know.

Br. Grayson looks up from his task with a twisted smile. "It has been my experience that when one acts like an adult, one gets treated like one, no matter the age of their body. So what juvenile stunt did you pull on him now?"
