Aliiak dark pillow Yeah, I guess you're right. razz I always make sure to include both compliments and critique when I comment on someone's drawing. :3 But not pointing out the mistakes could be bad too, at least if they asked for critique. Like one of my teachers, she gave me a bad grade, but she only wrote down that I had done everything very well... :I And she said it was mean to write bad things... -___-; And I guess it's kinda the same when you comment on someone's drawing. ^^; Oh I know what you mean- I find it infuriating to receive only good feedback. Luckily we only received bad from my tutor during uni, that it was a shock when she said anything nice, it was an expectation though, and when something was good we often didn't know it and never knew it. You're right though, mistakes do need to be pointed out, but going straight off the bat never goes down well. There is an ad floating around at the moment that says " But, interrupts. And, continues". I guess I see it as just a way of following a correction after an encouragement, especially with complete strangers or even close friends who you don't share that kind of relationship with. I always see it as needing a lot of trust that it won't be taken as an insult, but care still on both sides. Yup! Starting with the compliments and then taking the critique is definitely best. :3

Imalyose Does anyone feel like this contest is improving their artistic skills in any way, significant or not? not necessarily. . .though i didn't join to improve my drawing skills. . .just my endurance. . .it is getting quite trying at the moment. lol.
