He gets up and peeks in with a grin. "Hungry?" he asks walking over to open up Kero's window. The air is sweet and warm, filled with the scent of mowed grass. The food crops have been brought in, but the farmers were still bringing in hay and feed crops

Tam nods with a smile. "Very good." he says returning the chair to its original spot and coming to sit on the side of the bed. "Now... can you tell me why my curses whispered under my breath to myself while I am alone in a room is different than those you tend to spout off at everyone whenever you feel frustrated or angry?"

"You were to be asleep or was... so whose ears was I offending in there besides my own?" he replied with a lifted brow. "One of the reasons it isn't proper for children to swear is that they do not yet know the proper times to swear. It is something you learn, over time... what is appropriate for certain circumstances is not always appropriate in others. Now had Bro. Mica been in the room with me, do you think it would have been proper for me to have used that language?" Tam nods as the cub shakes his head no. "Correct. I owe Br. Mica a certain amount of respect, not only because he is a priest of Lathander, not only because he is older than I, but also because the dear man would be offended by the words had I spoke them. Now, if I was working in a field with a group of friends who were of my age and I dropped a stone on my foot, swearing might be acceptable... then again, it might not depending on the views of the ones I am with. If they feel swearing is a good way to vent frustration then I probably would... if they felt that swearing is offensive, I'd probably think twice..." then he gives the cub a sly wink. "depends on the size of the stone... but iffin my sister or brother was there, my lips would be sealed... they both know I swear but Shia doesn't approve of it and Keva is not yet old enough to learn some of the words I might use."
"Swearing is one of those things one needs to practice with a degree of sensitivity... something you have yet to express... therefore I have forbidden you to use it in my presence. It is one thing to use a word to vent feelings... it is another to use it as a weapon and you tend to do both with no regard to what you are saying."

Tam sighs. "As I've told you before , Taro, it all boils down to respect. If you know it will offend you don't, if you are alone... fine... and I will try to watch mt own mouth from now on as well. I've been a bit loose with it of late. Is that alright with you?"
Tam gets up and asks if the cat wants to be carried outside or anything. He can fix him up a basket to rest in on the stoop and visit with his friends as they play outside. "But you are not to join them, dear heart... you are still very weak, we do not want you getting worse... a few days of rest and you'll be fine. If you do not listen you can actually cripple yourself for life."

Tam frowns and quickly picks him up. "No, you won't.. you are going to listen to me if I have to tie you in place... Kero, I'm not going to let you become a cripple... Taro, please.. rest..." And walking out to the stoop, he sits down on a bench near the door, holding the cub so he can get some fresh air and see his friends.
After an hour of so of visiting and talking with the people who are moving by the cottage, Kero begins to flag, so Tam carries him back in and lays him on a folded blanket near e fire. I'm going to make us some dinner, kiddo. Rest here. Hope left you some broth and I'll soak sme bread in it so it fills you up more, ok?"

After serving up the broth that Hopian had left warming by the fire, Tam pulls out a loaf of bread and softens several slices in the liquid, softening them for Kero to eat. He brings that plus a bowl of milk, layered with fresh cream, for the cat's desert.

"When you are strong enough to walk from here to the temple without getting wheezy or weak. Sharmistra says to tell you that if you show up on the doorstep before then, she will dump you the infirmary and take care of you herself. Dawnlord Mica said much the same. Tomorrow we will try walking about the cottage. You need a bath and I need to wash your linens, so you can keep me entertained while I do the laundry. Fair enough?" says Tam serving up his own dinner from the leftovers of the night before.
"You know, you and Hope never did tell me what he hid in your pack?"
