The thing about photoshop is that you can do the same thing many different ways. You can also ctrl click the layer icon and it'll select all the non-transparent areas on the pixels and get the same effect. :>

Fuin Elda This as well... but it only works once you pull the lines from the background. Which is what was just figured out. biggrin I will need to remember this again the next time I decide to color the lines... I haven't had to use a lot of tricks since Highschool when I was going through for a Design degree which I dropped out of so I could go to University so all the tricks are gone and I use such time wasting methods now... redface oh lol XD i never use my bg layer so I guess I didn't understand the problem sweatdrop haha yea... I just started using photoshop two months ago so I'm still figuring out all the cool things it can do XP

The tutorials we were posting are really more for when you just want to pull lines up from a scanned image rather than redrawing them

Amandelie Hey everyone, just stopped by to say that I'm dropping out. Life has gotten more stressful and I don't feel like I can/should keep pushing myself to scrap together whatever I can each day for this.
Thanks to Kai for hosting this contest, and best of luck to everyone still participating! awww, sorry to hear it D:

Ethereal Phantasmagoria The thing about photoshop is that you can do the same thing many different ways. You can also ctrl click the layer icon and it'll select all the non-transparent areas on the pixels and get the same effect. :> you can also do a new layer with the color however you want, and then in the layer areas, click on the area between the two layers and hit alt and then click, and it will have where the upper layer will pretty much only show the parts where the lower layer has something *can demonstrate in livestream if anyone wants, just found out about it herself recently xd *

lol Want another method? Go to the channels and click the dotted circle symbol at the bottom. It'll select all the pixels that don't match your channel or is grey/black and you can still get the same effect. I use it to lift the linework from my traditional pieces.
