Fuin Elda Imalyose nobody talk to me right now. I am so incredibly pissed off. i've spent TWO HOURS doing JACK s**t trying to figure out how to invert stuff in gimp or photoshop so you can color your lines on your line-art. all I kept getting was how to color WITHIN line-art!!! SO PISSEd. adn this tutorial was what I was trying to do http://shoomlah.deviantart.com/gallery/?q=tutorial#/dxfgv9 but the freakin girl doesn't tell you what to do after creating the mask. I TRIED drawing on the layer mask thing, and all it does is color over the lines. this is BULLSHIT. so pissed off and frustrated. TWO HOURS of doing nothing. TWO HOURS. Nadoral's request!!!!! http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x330/obscenecupcakegifts/cat1.png for a pic I hate and drew in 30 minutes. What do you mean invert? I mean All I would do is select all the white (wand some white patch and then select similar) through the select option and then go back to the select menu and hit invert so that it was the lines selected... I suppose one could do this with a quick mask option as well if one needed to pull the lines from a background... I just want to change some of the lines to red. I don't want it black/white. I want the lines to have a gradient black to red effect, like the requestor requested. gonk and I wanna kill the girl that made that tutorial. I haven't been this pissed off in years.

Shestval Day 26 - Art Nouveau + Jungle I was hoping to finish this today but I can see now that it's not going to happen! Anyways, here is what I have so far. Looking for critiques if anyone sees anything small that's wrong, as I'm really pouring a lot into this picture. I could see this being a portfolio piece when I'm done. This is really awesome! I'm impressed.

Inferno Breeze alternately you can just use "lock transparency" on the layer pallette (it's a little square with gray/white checkers) and then you can do whatever coloring you want on the lines (in photoshop) This as well... but it only works once you pull the lines from the background. Which is what was just figured out. biggrin I will need to remember this again the next time I decide to color the lines... I haven't had to use a lot of tricks since Highschool when I was going through for a Design degree which I dropped out of so I could go to University so all the tricks are gone and I use such time wasting methods now... redface
