Champhy chuckles. "The Mistress likes it raw from time to time. That's why I asked and we keep quite a bit of tuna stored fresh in a stasis box. It's a delicacy, but she's not opposed to sharing it and the flesh is sweet tasting. Quite a treat for one of her kind, I suspect. Shall I cut you off a few steaks?"

Champhy nods and goes off down to the storerooms, returning with one of the largest tuna's Kero has ever seen. He can see why she chose to fetch it herself, though he would have done so for her had only she asked.

Surprisingly tuna is so fresh that it's flesh is still a bright reddish pink and sweet smelling. And as the head cook slices off several thick slices of the fish he finds himself stealing a small pinch. His eyes almost ttear up at the taste, no wonder the kitsune queen enjoyed her fish raw, if this is how it was supposed to taste. It was almost like eating protein in candy form.

"There are some premade dips in the ice room if you want to try it with one of those, some are sweet, but the Master prefers one made with a very strong horseradish base." says Champhy chuckling at his expression as she begins to slice the fish in thin almost transparent slivers. "Would you like Maggi to fetch you some?"

The cook laughs. "Here I am a cook and what does he want me to fix but an uncooked treat... oh well... Maggi fetch the standard dips... though Kerobian, you might want to go easy on the wasabi to begin with... or those tears I see in your eyes might just be real."

The small halfbreed giggles as she sets down a dish of shaved ginger, another small dish of a strange green paste and a bottle of soy sauce. "The trick is to thin the wasabi with the sauce until you find the intensity of bite you like. Then you take a sliver of tuna, a bit of ginger and dip it in the mixture." she advises him with a grin. "Of course you can eat them with it seperately if you want. But I think only Tam has ever tried to eat it with just the wasabi, not even Master AMestru is that brave. And he sure drank a lot afterwards because of it."

Maggi cocks her head to one side and sighs. "They did say he and Tam were friends didn't they... I think I now know why... they're the only ones who can stomach each other's cooking."

Champhy laughs and hands the mage a large platter of fish and dips. "I'd warn yer mistress iffin you give her one of those... it's been said to change the taste of the milk, though how true that is, I wouldn't know."

"Not a problem... I'm glad to help as long as it involves food... not much good in any other area. Now scoot so I can finish me meal planning... and when that little flyer wakes uup give her a hug fer me as well. She's welcomed down in here anytime. Ye be sure to tell her that... as long as she doesn't start t ossing me pots and pans around." laughs CHamphy giving him a gentle shove towards the door.

Maggi looks at the size of one of CHamphy's cook pots and sighs. "As if she could get it off the ground...."

She laughingly kisses him on the nose and smiles. "Of course I know it.. why wouldn't I?" She leans against him for a moment and lets him support her emotionially and physically. It never ceased to amaze her how much he truly cared. And sometimes, but only rarely, it worried her that he might actually care too much.

**yep... Kero has the tendency to go off the deep end when bad things (even natural bad things) happen to people he cares for. There are things in life that just can't be helped but he'll fight tooth and nail to prevent them... right?**

Pulling away from his embrace she asks what it was he disappeared to get. She knows he's been to the kitchen. The heady scent of baking bread and roasting meats is clinging to his clothing and her tummy is feeling a touch empty.

"Is that sashimi....?" sighs Tes with a hungry smile. "If it's fresh, I don't need any dips. Luna is sure lucky to have people looking out for her like you and your kitchen friends. Fresh tuna is not only a treat, but very nurishing. She seems to be undergoing a growth spurt. I swear she's put on a few inches already. Maybe that's why things have been getting out of conrol for her." says Tes carefully choosing a few slices of the fish, making certain to leave plenty on the plate for the tiny black dragon.
