"WELL, I just thought maybe I could ask you to dance with me. Although, I would like to request a dance from both you & Lyth," she asked, smiling. "What was that?" She gives the Phantom a look before seeing Gwen approach them. With a pout, she turns her head away.

Arron raised an eyebrow. "I haven't danced without an arm... so you'll have to ex-excuse any mistakes..." he said glancing off to the side.
"...Me too? Seriously?" asked Lyth confused, "Uh... What's got into her head?"

The Dragon Anon He frowns and looks around, "I'm actually not really sure what people even do at events like these other than dance. I've,
uh... Never actually attended one before." Gray eyes open wide in slight shock at this bit of information. "O-oh, I had no idea. I-I um just thought you had." The elf tapped her lower lip in thought ,then spoke again. "Well it's pretty much just a very formal party. You know the obvious dancing. Then there's the food and mingling with people." She looks around and her sights set on the window. "You can probably also go outside and see what sort of things are around to enjoy." She looks back at him and gives a small smile. "Does anything I've mentioned sound of interest?"

(Aww, I kinda feel bad, she hasn't been able to ride the bus? He's not the only one who does 60. sweatdrop )Have fun figuring it out!"
 All at once his mystery woman was making a getaway and Nathan blinked. "Hey!" He was distracted as Mo suddenly popped back up next to him, yelling and showing off the top of her dress, and then blue-haired person was well and truly gone. Tch... Figures... Lewis looked over, glad that Mo had found a place for her squares... Until he saw WHERE she'd placed them. Then the sorcerer almost had a heart attack. He immediately shied away, his cheeks coloring slightly even though there wasn't really much to see. "Yeah, wher-ACK! MO! T-that's not really...Oh jeez.." Mo looked more put off about her senior's reaction. "What? Lewis, where else was I supposed to put them??"Nate was suddenly more irritated now. Probably between missing something with the strange woman and not being quite sure about her, and still being stuck holding her strange gift, and probably something about his coworkers' bickering, or just Mo, seemed to set him off a bit. He finally turned to Mo, looking her over. She truly had shoved as many squares as she could down the front of her dress, and while it might have been funny normally, now Nate just rolled his eyes, unimpressed. His tone was flat, his words a bit nastier than he meant them to be. "Dumbass. You could've just tied them together and made yourself a scarf or something. You're really not big enough up there already?"
Mo glowered at her senior. "Shut up Nate! I'll show you! Maybe by the end of the night I'll shove some more in and have you count them all!" Nate almost reached for one of his knives. "I don't even think you can FIT anymore in, Three D's! You're already eye popping!" "Hey!" Just as the other two looked ready to go at it and Lewis thought he'd have to physically step in, someone else did it for him."Brava! They're to die for! Name's Laney, by the way! You know, I think it would look awfully fetching if we tied one in your hair as well!"Suddenly a purple-haired woman was shaking Mo's hand, surprising her from her temper at Nate. "Oh um... H-hi! Thank you! I'm Mo, and this is Lewis." She gestured to her left. With a muttered curse to himself, Nate suddenly turned away from them, heading for one of the tables deeper into the ballroom. "And the a*****e walking away, is Nate..." Mo called after him, "Don't mind him. But sure, I'd like that... I-in the hair I mean."

Ruby took another bite of the cake in her hand, as Lucky explained she was familiar with powers being linked with appearance. As she talked, the prince joined them only long enough to ensure his piece of the cake wasnt stolen. Ruby was clearly amused by this. . Turning back to Lucky as she finished, Ruby nodded in understanding, and smiled. "Well, its been rare to find another fire wielder. ...Perhaps we should spare one day. ".

Once Cid made her way back over to the table, she began eating again. Though this time is was a little more obvious than the small nibbles that had claimed the fruit trays. She seemed to slow, hearing the conversation of the two women near her, one of them being the other Royal from earlier. Fire wielders? She swallowed hard, and started coughing as the bite had been a bit bigger than originally thought. Or maybe it was the lump in her throat. It seemed that more than a few members of the party had things hidden about themselves.

Stopping next to the phantom, Gwen looks at the two women quizzically. "Did I miss something?" It could be nothing, but from her experience Phantom never looks that innocent unless she's up to something.

He shrugs, "I'm not the kind of person most would want anywhere near them." He listens quietly to the options Gigi gives him, scanning the room for anyone else he knows before his ears perk up at mingling. A slow grin tugs at his mouth, "And what if the kind of mingling I wish to do shouldn't be done in public?"

 When the prince left her side things became eerily calm. El's inner clockwork long since memorized the patterns in her life. Things were usually never this balanced for long. Her arm twitched ever so slightly, as if bracing herself for something that was bound to go wrong. Her eyes sharpened as she mentally took control. She glanced around. Nothing indicated disaster. There was nothing to worry about. Yet that didn't usually stop such things from breaking out at a moment's notice. Still... She shook her head a little. She resolved to enjoy the evening without anticipation. Until something went awry, she had no reason to believe it would. She watched the dancers out on the floor. They were shy, she could tell. Nervous feet unsure of what to do, yet yearning to move. She smiled a little. She spotted a passerby with an armful of pocket squares and deftly pulled her over. "Ahh..." The short blonde woman squeaked, taken by surprise. But El's grip had a touch of softness to it. "Here." She said, dropping a small wrapped box into her hand. "Take this to whoever's in charge." Jessie eyed it in confusion. "What is it?" she asked. "Call it a prize for someone. An event of the host's choosing." That was all she had to say. She released the girl back into the crowd and leaned against the wall, watching contently.  While Jessie worked to find Solsi, Laney was having a blast speaking to someone also with an eye for fashion. "Let me help you with that~" she chimed, tying a neat bow around each of Mo's pigtails. "It's nice to meet both of your friends as well. And don't worry...I know a thing or two about those with a chip on their shoulder..." She kind of muttered that last part, thinking of Danny, of course. "There we are, nice and symmetrical!" She produced a hand mirror out of seemingly no where to show off her work. She was quite proud of it.
Somewhere farther off, Danny was mumbling at herself and this dumb party. She put her faith in Solsi and she couldn't have even added a pool table for her benefit. She crossed her arms, closed her eyes, and huffed. Well, it wasn't her first formal affair she had to survive. She'd get through it one way or another. Maybe she'd pick a fight with someone and cut out early... That was always an option. It was around then Jessie spotted her friend coming out of the kitchen. She waved her down and ran up to her. "Hey Solsi, someone uh, asked me to give you this." she said, handing her the neatly wrapped box. "I guess it's a prize donation, and you get to pick the contest." Solsi blinked as she took it. "Oh, wow. What great timing. Between you and me, I think people were starting to get a little sick of the pocket squares..." Jessie smiled politely, sweatdropping a little. "Well, I didn't want to say anything..." Solsi looked up at her. "What should we do?" she consulted. "Maybe a dance contest?" Jessie suggested. "Perhaps. I don't want anyone to feel on the spot..." she trailed off. "Maybe a king and queen like during prom?" She was just guessing of course, they never actually got to attend their prom. Of course they arrived all right, but the evening was cut short when someone had a scuffle with a bully... "Also on the spot." they concluded in unison. "Maybe for the snappiest dresser, and everyone can vote?" Jessie beamed warmly. "I think that's a fine idea." Solsi mirrored the look. "Well all right. Let's go spread the word!" * * * OOC: Okay, you're probably asking yourself, "Why was I quoted here? And why was everyone else quoted too?" Good question! A - I just wanted to point out that the event changed a little on the first page, you can read up on how under the 'Event Calendar' section. And B - I'm starting a few cute little event contests! The first of which is a 'Best Dressed' contest. Please PM me your nomination of who in this event so far has the cutest outfit in your opinion. You can give me your top three in order if you like, just no nominating yourself, myself, or Lucky. Once I get enough votes in I'll send our winner a prize and let you know what our next fun activity will be. ^^
Also if anyone needs someone to talk to or a dance partner, I got you covered there as well, just quote me!

"Why would people not want you near them? I find you fine company~" The elf then blinks and starts to blush at what is then said. "N-Nef, th-that's not what I meant . . ." Poor blushy elf starts fidgeting. "A-and who are you wishing to do less public mingling with?" Giving herself a moment, the elf then looks back up with her best innocent smile even though her cheeks are still pink. "Did someone or a few someones catch your eye?"

Lucky considered the offer. "I admit, that does sound fun..." She glanced out the window at the night sky for a brief moment, then looked back at the other, smiling apologetically. "Unfortunately, strictly speaking I am not allowed to-"
She was cut off when rough coughing close by caught her attention. It looked like something had gone down the wrong pipe for the belled girl. Lucky blinked. "Goodness! Are you ok?" She quickly went for some punch and held it out for the girl. "Here, drink this."

As Ruby finished talking, her crimson eyes caught site of the new arrival just feet away, contentedly eating directly from the buffet table. She wondered if the girl heard her speaking, and how she'd react if she had. How uncommon was it to have powers? She raised an eyebrow, and studied the girls' reaction. Lucky immediately rushed to the girls aide as she began coughing, asking if she was alright, causing Ruby to react as well. "Yes, dear. Are you alright?
Perhaps you should slow down on the hors d'oeuvres. "
