Patrick listens to the older male's life story looking at the tv screen. He didn't mind that Roy has laid with his head on his lap. Couldn't pass up on stroking Roy's hair with one of his hands softly. "As far as I know I haven't seen or heard from my parents since I pay them off to allow me to transfer high school. Not even to see me in the hospital after my accident" he said about his parents. "At least you seem to be doing okay without them in your life and continuing on. Wish I could have met you sooner" he commented. "Do you have any regrets?" he asked him. ╚══════════════╝

Roy shook his head at Patrick's question"Not really, the only regret I have is not being able to contact my siblings....my parents made it a point to block me out of everyone's lives..."he explained, feeling Patrick stroke his hair as he laid where he did. Roy then turned his head to look at Patrick"So you were in an accident? What happened?"Roy asked, curious as to what happened to him.
"My parents did the same to me, but at a slower progress as soon as I was moved to America. Quite the culture shock and my English wasn't that good either" Patrick responded. "Maybe you will encounter them when something big happens that someone outside of the family contacts you or a sibling who wants to reconnect. I've never had any siblings, just people who I wished they saw me as a sibling from another mother" he added and stopped touching Roy's hair. He looks down at him after hearing the questions about his accident. "Well, I don't remember still and that is the truth" he began. "I only know how from what I looked up and the scar of the skull is certainly proof of the surgery I went through" he explained. "During a field trip to the mountains after graduation from college. I was with my geology class and this rock slide happened. I defended the others and a boulder cracks my skull. A week later, I woke up in the hospital with amnesia and the clue of who I was before the accident was a journal I wrote in over the years. So far I remember year 0 to 10, and I get these really bad headaches from time to time that I would stay in bed all day" he tells him as much details as he could. ╚══════════════╝

Roy eyes looked surprised as he listened to Patrick finish his story"Amnesia...that's awful...."Roy said as he looked at Patrick's face and reached up and carefully placed a hand against his cheek"That was brave of you though...saving those people prevented a worse tragedy....you're more of a hero then I could hope to be...."he stated, referencing his job as an officer and how some people call him a hero for his job"And you know what if you ever do have one of those bad headaches just give me a call and I'll come down and help you with what I can..."Roy stated with a kind smile on his face.
"Starting to turn out to be a blessing in disguise" said Patrick about the memory loss. Although he was convinced he had to cut ties with people he knew from the past and become someone a lot better than the one in the past. He softly nuzzles the hand that was rubbing his cheek. "Nonsense, you enter dangerous situations than I am and lot less selfish. Besides heroes are overrated and that people tend to remember them for their heroics and not as a person and what they have sacrificed" he explained. "That's very comforting and I will be sure to do that" he said and smiles back at him. ╚══════════════╝

Roy's eyes went to the roof for a moment before going back to Patrick"When you put it like that I suppose being a hero isn't all that glamours"he smirked, rubbing the side of his head in thought for a moment"You know...we only met several days ago...but I feel like I've known you for so much longer...."and this was how you could tell the alcohol was loosening his lips, Roy was stuttering as much as he normally would when expressing himself"I feel like I can....trust you..."he stated, his cheeks turning pink at such a personal confession.
Patrick nodded and pleased that what he had said was understood. He assumed it was all the talking they had been doing over these past few days that gave such an effect. "I'm glad you feel that way" he said when Roy confessed to him and rubs one of Roy's cheeks a little. "I feel just the same and hope to feel a lot more than that in the future about you" he confesses. He looks over to the tv screen seeing that the movie has reached its climax. ╚══════════════╝

Roy smiled a bit as he felt Patrick rub his cheek, very happy to hear him say that he felt the same. Roy then glanced over at the TV to see Santa ask Rudolph guide his sleigh"This was always my favorite part of the movie..."he offhandedly said as Roy continued to stare at the screen and watch the reindeer take off, pulling Santa's sleigh./color]
Patrick smiles softly down at Roy then looks back to the tv as he listens to the older male. "I can see why. The reindeer finds his purpose in life and it was something no one else can do" he said to Roy. "If you need to stay over for the night you can use my other guest room and I wake you earlier in the morning before my exercise routine" he offered. He had offered in case the guy wasn't sober enough to go home on his own because he is concerned of the older male's safety. "In a little while I need to head on out to escort my business partner to the airport" he informs him. ╚══════════════╝

Roy finally sat up from Patrick's lap but held his head slightly due to sitting up too quickly"Mmmm that would probably be smart...I'd never live it down if one of my fellow officers pulled me over and saw me this way...."he said, swaying just a tad bit. Finally Roy shook his head to collect himself before nodding his head"OK, no problem....I'll be fine here"Roy said after hearing Patrick tell him about needing to escort his business partner to the airport.
Patrick rests his hands to his sides on the couch after Roy had sat up. "Pulled over, does this mean you drove over here?" he asked him. He hadn't once looked outside his house today and no further than the porch when he had opened the door earlier. He watches him, "You would be the second to stay over here" he informs him. "Would have Hiro to look after you, but he isn't old enough for that kind of responsibility" he said jokingly. ╚══════════════╝

Roy smirked and shook his head"When I said pull me over I meant when I was walking home, I've been given a ride by fellow officers a couple times while they were on duty..."Roy clarified since Patrick seemed confused on what he meant. Roy then stared at Patrick with a blank look"Hiro is a cat though...."he said, stating the obvious since the joke went clean over his head once again.
"That's an unusual way of phrasing it then" said Patrick. "Does police officers have partners or is it a detective thing?" he asked him. He laughs at Roy's statement, "You never know I could train him to be a human sitter like some dogs are" he said joking some more. He looks back to the tv screen, "Does all the non-horror Christmas related movies have happy endings?" he asked when the movie was over. He ignores the commercial that comes on and turns his attention fully on Roy. ╚══════════════╝

Roy nodded his head slowly at Patrick's question"We do and we don't, it depends on the department..."he began"...here in Soleil we have partners since it's safer to work in pairs but at my last department before I was transferred myself and my fellow officers worked solo..."Roy explained before hearing this second joke that still went over his head"Um...yeah...sure..."he said with an awkward smile on his face, deciding to just go with it. Roy then looked towards the TV, watching the movie and it's happy ending. Roy then shrugged his shoulders at his question"Most holiday movies I see do....I don't watch much TV outside of my Holiday breaks..."he explained, seeing all of Patrick's attention was on his"But these are kids movies by all means so I'd guess they all have happy endings..."Roy said before his head began to feel a little more fuzzy from the alcohol from earlier.
Patrick listens to Roy explain intently, "Okay, that's something interesting" he responded. "Is this city's criminals that dangerous or simply a safety in number concept?" he asked showing more interest in Roy's job. He raises an eyebrow at Roy's response to his latest joke. Moves his lips like he was going to say something about it, but lets it go. "Well, I would like to see what the adult ones are like" he said. Looks back to the tv screen then picks up the remote to start changing channels. ╚══════════════╝
