@ Masuyo:
The earth kami grumbled slightly, bits of ethereal pebbles falling off into nothingness. "The mountains have been quiet for over five thousand cycles. A bunch of humans on horses rode through here back then, but they killed each other, and things have been peaceful since. I've been trying to recover from all the shaking and breaking they did. I simply desire to be left alone in peace."
The general vibe Masuyo would get from the kami after fixing the impromptu shrine would be a slightly more pleased one, but one could only expect an earth kami to show only so much emotion.

The little Dragon smiled at the result of her work. As strongly attuned to the earth Kami as she was, they didn't need to show much emotion to get through to her.
"Be at peace, Kami-sama." she answered simply, finishing her prayers.
Curling up with her fox and her blanket, she would sleep near the shrine that night; as motionless as the rocks around her.

Kojiro's watch passes without incident.
Denbe's watch passes without incident.
The morning comes around, as the two bushi who had kept watch are awakened by Hiruma Doi. "Rise and shine, my friends. The sun's been up for a while." Indeed, dawn was a distant memory to Lord Sun, currently hovering in the east above the lands of the Crab, shining brightly.
Moving to wake Kagae next, Doi would explain, "Yakumo and myself are done our patrols of the area. We're just waiting for Kenichi to get back, then we can depart. He's a little overdue to return, but I'm sure it's nothing."

"We should go look for him. No need to panic the others but I think he may of been abducted." Said Kagae making sure his katana and wakazashi were in place before pulling out the map.
"Where was his patrol route?" continued Kagae.

@The Twilight Mountains....in Daylight!
Kojiro would try to rub the sleep from his eyes as he got up and yawned. He would then stretch as he tried to take in what the Hiruma were saying. "How long overdue is he?" While waiting for their response, Kojiro would tap the tent door and call inside "Shosuro-san! it's morning. Time to wake up!

Frowning, Denbe would nod, a little uncertain. He had heard much praise for the Hiruma as scouts, even if he knew little else about them than that they were known for their skills in such. He looked around the area, wondering just how far beyond territories walked in recent memory by anyone loyal to the empire they were. He recalled the Hiruma mentioning yesterday that they'd already passed beyond the areas they normally patrolled.
"And what do we do if he doesn't return shortly?" The Hare said, knowing it would be a worthwhile cause to take a day to search for the missing samurai, but not of the same import as their mission. More importantly, he didn't know whether the Hiruma would have to return without him... or what that would do to their assessment of the areas safety, if he didn't return shortly.

Fubuki returned to the campsite, a bit of blood still lingering on his muzzle, and proceeded to pounce upon the lifeless bundle of blanket on the ground nearby. An angry Dragon stirred from within, but she remained silent about it. Instead she prepared her breakfast as she listened. The Hiruma didn't sound concerned, so she would not be either.

Hiruma Doi would take a moment to look over Kagae's map. "We have a good feel for each other's paces, and he should have been back about..." He would pause, looking towards the sun for guidance. "Not quite a quarter hour yet. We took different routes, leaving at different times, to secure the area."
Doi would gesture with his finger on the map, showing three circular paths. "I had left first and took this route. Yakumo left second, and went this way, up ahead. Kenichi left as I got back, going westward in this direction. He-"
"Doi," Yakumo had said, interrupting. Following his companion's gaze, Doi would look to the edge of the cliff face to the southwest. Hiruma Kenichi was just now coming around it, still some distance off, in no particular hurry.
"Oh, false alarm. Here he comes now."

Looking up, the Hare followed their eyes to the approaching Hiruma. He looked closely, as if almost expecting to see some signs of trouble on the man- but perhaps it was just paranoia. After all, there didn't even seem to be a rush to him.
"No signs of trouble, or our mysterious inhabitants, I take it?"
He asked the two standing by him of their patrol, still looking at the third Hiruma- just to be sure.

@Twilight Mountain
Kojiro looked over to where the third Hiruma was heading back to the camp and debated peaking in on Miyako to see if she was actually getting up. "Well, thanks for your help. May your trip back be swift and may the Kami carry you."
Kojiro skipped his breakfast today. He had intended to fast to spare some rations, also, he planned to help gather food for Kagae.

Miyako got up and dressed quickly, wondering why everyone seemed a bit at attention. "Have I missed something again?" She asked Kojiro as she took a look around. She was so not built for these kinds of trips.

"Nothing much, really. Just a little scare with Hiruma Kenichi-san. He's just a little late returning from his patrol is all. Did you sleep well, Miyako-san?"
Kojiro slumped against the tent as the Hiruma approached. Although he had other things on his mind, like packing away his kit, he would observe the man as he approached. The Bayushi would guess that it might be lingering suspicion over the bog hag incident yesterday that made him so on edge.

@ Denbe:
Hiruma Kenichi definitely looked a little worse for wear. His clothing was slightly disheveled, and he looked a bit roughed up. He looked a little Nicked and bruised, but that's it.
Oh, and he was leafless.
"Yes, yes, sorry, Doi-san. I realize I'm late. I ran into some... difficulty. But there's nothing to report, and I'm happy to announce that my route is clear of immediate danger."
"'Immediate'?" Yakumo would ask, aside to his companion.
"Shush. I'll tell you later."
"I... see." Looking to the others, Doi would nod. "Well, as soon as all of you finish breaking camp, I believe this is where we part. It was nice traveling with all of you, and you surprised us with your tenacity. I doubt you have anything to fear within these mountains."
