"No, sorry, I am not going anywhere near those other forms of Divination unless I REALLY have to again, that is it!" She said as she turned around and walked back to the table for another strawberry, they were really good and she wanted more "I know of one other kitsu who has the same gift as what I have, if you want, I can give you directions to her cave" she said, having been in contact with one of the very few non scam artists her mother found way back when, if they wanted a teacher then maybe she could help but as for her she wasn't going down that path, Odessa stopped and sighed, taking a strawberry and eating it, thinking about whether or not she should tell him about the outcome of the readings she got from the wax before, maybe then she would stop being annoyed by the male. "My one main reason" she said as she took a bite out of her strawberry, savoured the taste for a little bit before swallowing "is because 'I' pretty much predicted my own brothers death, not once but TWICE, and the 'situation' I got into with that a*****e back when I was looking for the 'cure'" she said as she ate the rest of her strawberry "so no, I am not going to go back down that path, I am NOT going to cause myself more heartache then I did when my brother passed away, I don't care if that was the 'unfortunate circumstances' that one may get with being in the line of 'work' we are, I am NEVER going to take the change again of having some other method end up hurting me again so badly, I do Tarot because it puts food in my stomach when I am too lazy to get my own, I wouldn't even do that if it wasn't for the payment I get" she said as she got another strawberry and started on it.

Nope apparently not. He frowned, how did it play into her brothers death? It didn't make sense, divination had no agenda, didn't cause things to happen, it only told you a possible out come, how could it be blamed for what happened? Did she think her divinations drew the attention of darker spirits to cause such things? Why with such an adversion to divination would laziness justify it's use? Especially when she had a human to provide such feasts. He thought perhaps it was a scapegoat, she blamed herself for not staying by his side but couldn't blame herself completely, she needed something outside herself to blame to be able to keep going. He dropped the issue, if that was what she needed to keep going for now, he wouldn't get in her way. Perhaps some day she would heal enough to move on. He said nothing, anything he would say would only upset her further, instead he simply nodded to her offer of introducing him to another divinator, she could take it how she saw fit

Alright so there was no answer so she decided to ellabroate so she said down next to him again and sighed as she laid back and looked at the stars "what I mean is that I a few days before I left to go on my little trip I decided to do Ceromancy, that is the Divination method I was starting to master back in the day and it is to do with what shapes may end up showing up in the cold water once you drip hot candle wax into the cool waters, each shape means different things. Anywho, I did two readings, one a few days before I left and with that first picture I got a lion, a lion meaning that an unpleasant situation was to happen, take it both ways we get my brother was going to end up dying regardless and the fact I was in a situation like I was with that a*****e, then I waited till the day before I left and I got a pair of scissors which means separation, I was separated from my brother, thus another sign he was set to die.
Now don't you dare start saying that was just coincidence, you more then anyone knows better then that and I don't need you patronizing me" she said as she took a deep breath, trying to keep her tears at bay like usual "so no, as far as I am concerned I am just sticking with Tarot, that alone can bring heartache, I am not going to go with another method when I am still trying to get over my brothers death after all these years, sure I may be foolish but so be it, I am foolish then, I have the tarot, it gives me my food, I don't need any other methods" she said as she fell to her side, back to Gersif once more.

He shook his head, "no, not a coincidence it told you what it saw, why though do you blame divination for telling you what would happen?" She had opened up to him and he wished to understand, he could only hope she wouldn't get upset by his honest question. If he said it would rain tomorrow and it did he wouldn't be blamed for making it rain would he? A prediction was just that, a prediction. "Would you feel better if I were to provide you food so you needn't work again?" It was a genuine offer, he wanted to help, if divination was causing her that much pain.... would she ask him to stop divining as well? He hoped not, perhaps he could simply do it on his walks out of her presence, he hoped that would be enough, he couldn't lose his rune casting, it wasn't an option for him

"I know better then anyone I shouldn't blame what I saw but I guess just the fact it DID foretell the death of my brother in a way and at that time I wasn't wanting to believe it and so I would get thus cure and it would be fine, I would be able to save my brother and the two images I saw were just a wrong reading, the fates playing around with my mind or something and so when it did happen the way the images showed I just have hated Divination ever since" she said with a sigh "the day my brother died was the day my love for Divination died along with him, Tarot reading, as I said, was only kept up because I sometimes am too lazy to go feed myself or Lenore hasn't brought me any food" she said as she took a deep breath and let it out. "I know it is stupid but he was my twin, I got dealt a bad hand and I don't really feel like playing the game anymore, I may have been given this gift but when I am told my twin brother is going to die I give up, I don't want to play this game the fates have forced me to play anymore..." she said as she trailed off, tears silently falling down her face "I lost my brother because of their game and I don't want to lose anyone else, I don't want to know someone else I love will end up the same way as him, I am better off being ignorant" she said, knowing she couldn't remain ignorant all her life but in this case, she wanted to, she had enough of their game, they won.
Odessa got up and laid there, facing the way they came to the beach, back still facing Gersif "and no, I am fine with catching my own food I just can't go back to where I was, this lady I know, she is awesome at her job, I will be happy to give you directions to her cave but at the moment I just am never doing anything but Tarot reading again, I'm sorry" she said as she placed her head over her front legs and closed her eyes, wishing her brother was still with her and regretting she ever did those two readings.

He ignored her mention of the other divinator and laid down beside her, hoping just being there for her might be of some comfort. He thought briefly about teaching her his trick to blocking off all emotion, hell it might even make her less emotionally volatile but he was having trouble with it himself lately and she may be opposed to shutting out all emotion, which was the only way he knew to shutting out the bad ones. He lay his head upon his own forearms eyes trained on the stars. "Don't be." was all he would say in response to her apology, he couldn't think of anything better to say.

Odessa was, a little, pleased he was keeping her company but another part just wanted to basically gouge herself on the rest of the dessert that was on the table but she just sighed and started drifting off to sleep, she was tired, sleep was what she needed now and she was just far to comfy to move "tha...yo..." she said as she finally drifted off.
((fast forward if you wish.))

Gersif looked over and found her asleep. Well so much for her fear of being out at night. He trotted over to the human and signaled as best he could for a blanket with which to cover Odessa and keep the cool breeze off the ocean from freezing her. He himself chose to stand guard, he promised to keep her safe and he meant to keep it.
It was a quiet night as he watched her sleep and now and again watching the stars dance on the sea. It gave him time to think and calm. A night and time he had needed to collect himself again. As the sky started to lighten he went to Odessa's side and nudged her gently on the cheek thinking she might wish to watch the beauty of it. Quietly he whispered in her ear "Care to watch a sunrise with me?"

Odessa woke up moments after Gersif nudged her and softly yawned "y...yeah" she said, looking up at him "is Oliver alright?" She asked without thinking before looking around and realised where she was "oh, morning" she said as she pulled the blanket around her a little more, wishing she was still asleep but whatever, she could stay out for a little while longer.

He smiled at her, "Morning" he said softly not wanting to be too loud for her sleepy head. He waded out into the serf and stood very still, he wasn't sure how the current would effect his fishing but as the food had been packed up last night to save it from the sand, fishing would have to do. Instead of fish however he felt something strange beneath his feet and dug them up. Shellfish, hmm, not sure if two were enough he waded further and found some more bringing them to shore for Odessa. "Breakfast and a view." He smiled

"Thank you" she said as she got up and stretched before snuggling back down under the blanket and looked at the sunset, it was beautiful, what a way to start the day "now, about your breakfast, where is it?" She said with a playful glint in her eye "you don't really expect to watch this beautiful sunrise without something to eat do you?" She asked, obviously joking.

He gave a grin pleased to see her playful side again "Oh I'll find something, just thought I'd enjoy the view." Course he was looking at her and not at the sun, he had seen plenty of sun rises and he was a red blooded male after all.

((As it was mentioned before, when these two finally get together I think Gersif will deserve a medal, if he can put up with Odessa now then their mateship will be a total walk in the park, there won't really be anything Gersif won't be able to handle when it comes to her. XD))
Odessa smiled softly to herself, the sun rise was beautiful, she pushed a couple of the shellfish towards Gersif "you deserve it" she said as she lent over and licked his cheek "thank you for last night and for standing watch over me, I assume you didn't get any sleep?" She asked softly, him knowing that she wasn't fond of being out after dark "I am sorry and I guess, at least, you deserve an explanation as to why" she said as she opened one of the shellfish before recalling her first night alone in the valley. "I had just left home, found a place by myself, I was young and inexperienced in the world, we all saw that when I ended up in the situation that I did when I went looking for that cure, but I was happy to make the cave I have now my new home as it was away from my father, his strict, over bearing ways pushed me away from the family when I was an adolescent and I didn't want to stay there anymore so I had left and was pleased to in a way, my brother and i still kept in contact, I went to see him daily or he came to see me, of course this being before he got sick, after that I just visited him at home daily or even stayed there, I put up with our fathers ways just so I could stay with my brother.
Anyway, the night came around and I went to take a drink from the lake before bed but as I was finishing up a Trick came towards me, I was but a child, I couldn't save myself even if I wanted to and he mentioned how he was hungry and I seemed like the perfect snack before he got home so I ended up being caught by him, struggling to get out of his grasp just proved to be worse as every time I tried to get away his claws would dig in deeper to my flesh, I still have a scar today on my stomach" she said as she laid over onto her side and pulled a bit of the fur apart where it showed a three inch long scar. "The last remaining memory of that night" she said as she got up and carried on with her story "I was basically set to be his dinner when some guy came in and basically saved me, I am not one hundred percent sure who he was or what he looked like except for a couple of markings that stood out on his body and a couple of scars on his face, he helped patch me up as best as he could and then as soon as I thanked him he left, I was a little too out of it due to the shock of it all to take notice of anything else about him, the fact I was dead tired also didn't help me take notice of if he was a normal Kitsu or not.
So ever since that night I haven't been a fan of being out after dark, as soon as the last lights of the sun have gone I am at home, in bed and reading or something, Lenore comes early to light my candles so at least I have light, but still, I just wont venture out after dark unless I have a good reason to and even then I am hesitant" she said as she ate the shellfish that she had opened before.

Gersif smiled at the offer of food and the lick, he was use to going nights without sleep, a week was the longest he'd ever gone without a wink of sleep... not that he recommended it, but dangers of the road often required it so staying up for her was something he didn't mind. "No problem" he said before her offer to tell her tale, he listened quietly, having wanted to say 'it's alright you don't have to say' but she started before he had a chance to stop her. He nodded as she shared her tale, she had been through more than he had realized and could better understand her views on some things. Once her story was ended he allowed himself to speak, "Understandable." he nodded, it wasn't much but what could he say? He wanted to say he was glad she was alive, that she was saved, but everything he thought of just sounded cheesy. Instead he cracked open a shellfish and looked at it, he'd never eaten one before and it looked rather gross... "I'm glad you're alright considering..." yeah.. still sounded lame. He ate the slimy body of the shellfish to keep from saying anything stupid, it didn't taste too bad once you got past the look!

Odessa opened up and ate the other shellfish before looking at the other "so am I considering but I think mother had the worst of it, having see it happen and not do anything, father can be a total a*****e at times, makes me wonder what she ever saw in him" she said, having seen some romantic stuff happen between her parents but still...
