I really don't like clutter but stuff like this always places. Sure it's matched by all the items together look like someone has chugged paint and vomited. What do you guys vote on? Pure matching or do you factor in overall look?

I don't really take in any one factor.
For me it's matching, flow, colours mixing, shape and overall appeal.

 That entry linked above doesnt look appealing to me at all. I do like matching avatars usually though. The one that was uh, either last week or the week before's winners, with the venus flytrap thing was awesome though :3
Anyway I've entered mine in for next week so hopefully we'll have another round with lots of suitians :3 I'm still not all that happy with this avatar though but oh well >>

~*~ Saaaaame. I've been giving mostly 1s. And it's not downvoting 1s. It's deserved 1s. DX I don't really pay attention to matching, just whether it looks good. XD Sometimes you need to match to balance it out, but just having colors matching all over the place doesn't automatically make it good.

~*~ this is why i only vote on decent ones. otherwise the arena gets mad at me and claims i can be human cause of how fast i vote. scrub: i agree with colds answer. the avi you listed gets some props for matching, but its not very appealing over all to me. i wouldnt 1 it ^^

I vote fairly, so it didn't get a 1 from me. I just didn't 5 it for having a lot of matching colours.

Pure matching or do you factor in overall look? Oh, he's in the arena too? I actually know him from the new Colo. He does a lot of good avi's. He manages to use a ton of items, and matches well at the same time. I guess I just base my vote on how well it looks. I didn't realize the sheer number of crappy avi's in the arena. Like every so often, there's a good one, but they're drowning in a sea of noob. It's hard to even find good ones, unless you find a thread that lists them. But then that's dangerous to do in case down-voters find it.
