Kieran nodded at Kassandra's answer then stopped as Tasha spoke. Listening she continued to look at Kassandra though it was obvious that she was simply listening. When Tasha had finished she opened her mouth "Heh.." the small laugh came out and she turned her head to look at Tasha.

At seeing Tasha she smirked and contempt added to the hate and anger in her fiery scarlet eyes. Slowly turning her lithe and slim body she started towards Tasha with languorous steps and the smirk and stare became threatening though nothing in her expression changed. Instead it was simply her aura, filled malice and hate mixed with fury towards the werewolf.

Watching Tasha it wasn't hard to see past the defensive into the fear she tried to hide. However the mutt was young and inexperienced in hiding such emotions. Stopping by the bed the contempt in her eyes only grew as she bent down and soft as a whisper but dangerous as a threat she said "Do not challenge me with fear in your heart" she began her eyes narrowing adding the threat that had begun in her voice "There may be fury now but it would take only a second for me to destroy that and leave you cowering in front of me" she threatened now as her smirk turned into a snarl revealing her gleaming, curved fangs as full blown hatred flared in her eyes once more.

Straightening up again she began to turn away then looked back down at Tasha "And be careful to remember what you say and where you are. After all, nothing good will come of your death. Alive you have the chance of going back to your pack and little blood shed if any, but dead..." she stopped as though she were contemplating then she smiled dangerously and with an unhidden blood lust "Dead, you would only begin the war that will lead to your packs destruction. Of course" she chuckled with a hint of evil "That is if they care enough about you to try for revenge you" she remarked with the obviousness that she didn't think that they would even try.

As soon as she caught Alastar's distinct sccent, Alette altered her course minutely so she would cross paths with him. Whether she was going to be optimistic about the outcome of all of this or not, she had no problem giving him a piece of her mind. No, none at all.

Alette slowed to a much more human pace before she stepped out from behind the building and into Alastar's path. There she would wait patiently for him, her arms crossed casually over her chest.

It was rare that she really showed her anger or annoyance over something, especially to those that she would consider her family. They simply had to learn to recognise the cues and react in such a way that was the least likely to get them in trouble. For example, she would normally stand much like she was then. Calm expression, arms crossed lightly over her chest, casual stance. It was this calm exterior that they had to watch out for, because it was then that she was really in "Mistress, Queen of the Family" mode. There were varying degrees of it, of course, but she really only got this way when the situation became especially serious.

So there she stood, waiting for the General to get closer. It wouldn't take long for him to arrive, she knew. In fact, because he was so close, she only waited about half of a second before she murmured, "Alastar, I'd like to speak with you for a moment."

Artesia nodded minutely at her husband's orders and looked over the rest of her pack. They were all to go home and wait for further orders while she went to find help. She didn't like it; she'd much rather be going to the mansion and ripping heads from shoulders until she found Tasha, but she wouldn't disobey her husband, especially while her pups were away from home. She turned to leave, looking back for a moment as her nose wrinkled. It was faint, but she was sure she smelled a different scent than the ones already here. Whether one of the vampires was skulking around looking for more people to kidnap, or one was spying to find out what they were going to do, that made it even more important that they get moving.

"Let's go," she said, and took off running. Her plan was to get everyone back on their side of the city, then order the older ones to take the younger ones back to the cabin. William wanted her to talk to the wizards, but Artesia seriously doubted that they would help. There were many occasions in the past when they were fighting and she could sense their presence, but they never interfered, even when one side was losing. It was understandable that they didn't need to make enemies of either side, but it was also well known that they didn't like either of them. She would have a better chance rounding up the vampire hunters, but she didn't know where they would be tonight, especially as they approached the zenith of their power. There had to be something she could do that didn't involve the risky business of trying to find a vampire to kidnap in reciprocation. She pushed those thoughts out of her mind for now. They were making her sick with worry, and for now getting her pack to safety and avoiding possible ambush was enough for her to worry about.

If ever she thought that the Vampires were monsters, which they undoubtedly were, she had never been so angry at them then she was now. Kidnapping! She had never dreamed that they would stoop so low, but they had succeeded in proving her wrong on that count. As she listened to William's speech about what happened and how they were going to react, her opinion of him as a leader raised a couple notches. They'd pull through this, she knew. William would get Tasha back safely.

Alyssa followed Artesia without hesitation and matched her speed, though she stayed a few paces behind the Alpha Female. She felt useless, just running back to the cabin like they were, but she also knew that there was nothing that she could do at the moment. They weren't going to launch a counter attack right now. It just wouldn't be smart. So they had to get away, at least for now. She knew all of that, sure. That didn't mean she liked it.

Everything'll be fine, Tasha. We'll make those bloodsuckers pay for this.

Rourke leaned back and massaged the porcelain skin between his brows. He’d noted every possibility he could think of, each had their own branches of possibilities. It was endless. Several pages had more immediate actions while others were decorated with plans for later down the long road they traveled unwillingly.

Alastar had earned the privilege of housing Tasha so the matter of location was sorted. He would bring her a bad of her own though and spare his brother midnight maulings. Their servants would not be recognized so food and clothes were easily gathered for the new guest. A message from Tasha –or a carefully fabricated on – would be taken to the wolves. Something for them to chew on and keep them in line. Something to keep them on their toes with some reassurance that their pack member was safe granted they stay to their requests. He would have to consult with Alastar and Alette concerning their terms. Despite acrid taste it left at the back of throat they were nothing more than common human kidnappers demanding a ransom

The wolves would ne to be monitored along the outskirts of vampire territory. They would not trespass and risk Tasha’s life unless her safety were guaranteed but they will or should shore up their forces. Rouke’s mind shifted to Marco, the wolves’ second in command. He didn’t think the man a loose cannon, but he seemed one to let his emotions get the best of him at times. Alastar was sure to deal with his rival but all the same…

Nothing could be done at the moment so he set the pen and legal pad aside, Rouke was not hungry per say but he wouldn’t turn away a supple neck. With this in mind he lifted himself from his chair, floated toward and other the door. It was uncommon for others to mill about the hall where he, his brother and wife kept their rooms and offices. Even the meeting room was located elsewhere in the mansion. So the latest addition did not go unnoticed, “Kieran, welcome home,” he greeted the girl in hi rich voice, “I trust you found what you were looking for.”

Rourke looked her over and wondered at the fashion sense of his family. Though Kieran had been turned by another she was as much an exile in this world as he was. That made her family until she decided otherwise. As for her choice in attire she related best with Kassandra, it seemed Alette were the only ones that dressed without the intention of onlookers.

His form filled the doorway, he noted the thick waves of tension from Kieran and Tasha, their anger and hatred palpable, “Please do not harass out house guest, we aren’t animals here.” His voice was warm as but the authority and warning were apparent, “If you can’t behave yourself it might be best that you don’t come this way."
PostPosted: Wed Dec 31, 2008 12:42 pm

Kieran's head turned quickly at Rourke's approach and heard his first words of greeting towards her "Thank you Rourke and yes I did" she replied smoothly with a small smile. Her mission hadn't been about finding something though. It had been more related to tying up loose ends with the rich family that had enslaved her. She had gone to stop the slaving that they still practiced and had done so, killing all of the family members that were treating the slaves badly. Now she had left the slaves in the care of the daughter of the family that had treated them nicely. That still left a bitter taste in her mouth but, she couldn't free all of them or the authorities would take them back to the auction house. So she'd left them with the girl and planned to check in every once in a while on her to make sure that she didn't turn into her parents.

At his second remark her smile seemed to falter briefly but it was back in place before he finished speaking "All right Rourke, I'll behave now" she promised with the small smile that seemed plastered to her face now. What could you expect though, she didn't smile very often so she usually had to force herself. Of course, she did smirk but she never counted that to be the same thing as smiling. Mainly because smirking was considered to be rude and smiling was meant to show happiness. Therefore, they were totally different and Kieran didn't feel the latter all that much, too much of her was still in love with Kale and mourning his death.

The fact that she couldn't insult the mutt made her a little disappointed she was finally able to lash out at one of the werewolves verbally and now she couldn't. 'Oh well' she thought to herself and decided that she'd stay anyway to keep Kassandra company. She could hit two birds with one stone and find out what had been happening since she'd been gone. She could ask Rourke but she figured he probably had somewhere else to be and Kassandra was just dog sitting. She also felt more comfortable with Kassandra than anyone else in the household, that fact still confused her since the only thing they had in common was their clothing. Even then they were different since Kassandra usually wore those things to attract boys attention and Kieran wore skin tight clothes because she didn't like to be hampered by any hanging cloth. With that in mind skin tight clothes were perfect and if any boys were attracted by it she'd lure them into a dark alley way and drink them dry.

Alastar was veritably careening down the street recklessly, like a runaway carriage. Alette's emergence caused him to have to shift suddenly at the last minute to the side, brushing against her shoulder and skidding to a stop a few steps away. It was not wholly intentional, but he knew it was in his best interests to be out of arm's reach. When (and he was fairly confident it was a "when" and not "if") she stepped forward to strike him, he'd at least have a moment to brace himself theoretically. Alastar knew he deserved to be hit, he just didn't want to take more of a beating than was actually necessary.

"Ah," he started, raising his hands, palms forward, in what was a signal of surrender. "Your husband already clocked me on my jaw, so you don't have to feel obliged to do the same... although I am guessing you'll feel some marital solidarity if you do." He turned his head just slightly to show the ripe bruise on his cheek that was turning as dark as the night. Obviously, he was on his way to feed to repair that damage. He had never cared for feeding on servants if he had a significant other in the wings.

It was a little odd. Although he and his brother were technically peers, in this little hierarchy Alette and Rourke were both above him. It had been decided long ago he'd be the follower and his double the leader, but it was at these junctures when he actually felt the need to do something outside of his duties and power that he truly felt awkward. It had not really been right of him to act so impulsively- had it been any two other vampires the one in his position might be severely punished. At the same time, he had for a few fleeting moments forgotten that Rourke and he stood on different rungs of the proverbial latter and didn't really comprehend he was out of line. Being turned had changed so little and so much at the same time.

Ruffling his hair, he offered a lopsided smile. "Don't worry, the fledglings are all safe."

Alette didn't so much as flinch when Alastar skirted past her. She didn't even look at him right away, letting him say what he wanted to say just like the polite, mostly non-confrontational lady that she was. In fact, Alette only turned her head to appreciate the bruise that he so deserved.

"As long as they remain at the house, they will be." She replied to his assurance that everyone was safe for the time being. Now, she turned to face him directly. "My husband sent me to find out what they were planning. Right now, William only wants to negotiate, but he's given Artesia permission to send wolves out to capture one of our own as leverage. Then he told her to go to the Merlin to ask for the Wizards' help in the matter. They don't often interfere, but I really don't know how he'll react to this. I do know that if they chose to involve themselves, it doesn't look good." Her eyes twitched and narrowed just barely enough to notice.

"Have you any idea what you've done, Alastar? Not only did you kidnap one of them, knowing full well how furious they would be, but you did it without so much as mentioning it to Rourke or myself. Now I normally don't make too big a deal about our differences in rank, but the fact of the matter is that you were way out of line on this one. If anything happens to someone in our Family as a result of this..."

Alette paused a moment to release a breath - her own way of counting to ten. If she hadn't, there was no doubt in her mind that she'd have given him a matching bruise on the opposite side of his jaw. She probably still would. Her own jaw was clenched in an effort not to raise her voice. The safety of Family was of the utmost importance. She had little tolerance anything that endangered them in any way. If it wasn't Alastar that had done it, she would not be behaving this kindly. "The New Moon is only a couple days away. If anything, why didn't you wait until then?"

"Wait for what? The night of the new moon?" Alastar gained his composure as she seemed to calm herself, flinching slightly at the mention of rank. He purposefully kept a jovial, casual smile on his lips. Even if she hadn't known Rourke and he so well it would be obvious he was not so well at ease, but the mask was impregnable. Only Juliet had ever been allowed to know the nuances and what lay beneath and she had taken such secrets to her grave. "You know as well as that while we might be stronger then, they would be expecting a move. It was a perfect opportunity, even if I hadn't the chance to propose it to my brother- a subordinate alone on the streets where no other persons or werewolves would aid her. In a few days they'd dare not be so careless."

His shoulders lifted and lowered as he let out a deep sigh, tilting his head skywards. A tiny grin still tugged at the edges of his lips stubbornly, refusing to be as serious as his words. Even his enunciation and voice were light, as if they were speaking of puppies, kittens, rainbows, and everything else airy and wonderful. "We've hated each other for... oh, I lose count. This war has no visible end with the tactics we've employed- savagely attacking and defending. Both sides have casualties without meaning, without change. I know what I've done. You can hate me for it, dear sister, but I don't regret it. Before I acted all of our family was in jeopardy, just like the vampires who have perished years before at the end of a canine talon. This way, at least, we have hope- hope we can make them leave or at least the assurance we can kill one and then continue the tactic before...."

His lips and tongue moved a moment after he spoke, but only silence greeted her. Whatever had been in his throat and mind had stopped there, just short of becoming aural. His eyes twinkled in contemplation, visage tilted towards the sliver of moon in the sky. That annoying smile was still plastered there. Was it fake or genuine? Did he find solace in the moon?

"Besides, that noble sibling of mine would have wanted to partake in the execution of the kidnapping himself, no doubt. I couldn't let that happen. When they come charging, I'll be the one most loathed and in the line of fire." Another phrase lingered and he opened his mouth to speak, but then fell short. It would do no good to continue- for Alette would disagree with the logic that would follow and most certainly get upset. It was better that he tucked such unspoken things inside, filed and compacted into the deepest chamber of his heart. There it was safe, and there his beautiful sister princess could keep smiling about a few more things.

"Are you sure you don't want to hit me before I go eat? I'd much rather get it out of the way now while I'm already needing to repair."

As Marco trotted hastily in front of him, William regarded the hulking form with no more than shared determination. “I know patience isn’t one of your more protruding qualities, but we have to be careful,” William called to Marco, his voice low as his wistful eyes scanned their surroundings. Tonight, no shadow could be gone unnoticed. Danger was eminent now that they were crossing into vampire territory. The vampires would most likely be keeping a strict watch; of course, if the news had gotten around this quickly. There was no way to be sure what to expect, but William had to be prepared for any likely confrontation.

Watching his comrade fight his anticipation, William let out a breath to release some of the growing tension that was building up throughout his body. There was no use to hide it, although he did his best to do so. It was one thing to have all of his senses taking in any and all information from this toxic environment, but when they picked up on something that could’ve been existential to their presence in the area, his feet planted themselves without notice. In his human form, William could barely pick up on the voices, but he was sure that Marco could hear them quite clearly. Sharing a quick glance with his Beta, he cocked his head to the side, “Go,” the command was whispered with the gesture. There was no fooling around in this situation. Marco had to be weary of his movements and of any humans still milling around the streets. William had Tasha to worry about now, he couldn’t have his mind on Marco as well; he’d just have to hold his own. If nothing went wrong, Marco would surely meet with him at the vampire’s hideaway or back at the cabin.

By himself, William now felt the need to quickly arrive at his destination. The longer he weaved through the streets, the greater the probability that he would run into a group of bloodsuckers. Using the stealth and agility that his family line had handed down to him in genetics, he quickly found himself at the large home. The pungent stench of cigarette smoke entered his nose as he rounded the corner of the building, finding the perfect specimen to account for his arrival. The human servant who had been taking a cigarette break now found himself face to face with a smiling William, the cancer stick dropping from his fingers. “Go tell your master that an old friend is waiting to speak with him outside, will you now?” his words weren’t meant to be answered; though, as the servant quickly entered the side door, it was clear that they hadn’t been mistaken.

Unknowing of Devin’s thoughts on the small pile of clothes he presented to her, he watched the wizard point to the garments and mumble something about them. A part of him wanted to ask if there was something wrong with them, maybe they needed to go through the wash before she wore them? He really hadn’t put much thought into grabbing them out of his closet, other than the fact he knew they were much too small for him to wear. He thought of other options that might be reason for her murmur of a protest. He could dry her clothes instead, but that would require the wizard to take them off first. Daniel could feel his face growing hot at the thought. The distraught hunter couldn’t even muster up a way that that would even work; especially since he wasn’t quite sure if this wizard was, in fact, a boy or a girl.

When the wizard began to answer Daniel’s question, his thoughts were halted, and he watched as her gaze slowly shifted from his shirt to his face, not quite as startled by the thin fingers resting on his chest, as he would’ve been a moment ago. Though his thoughts weren’t muddled by the physical contact, which seemed to just keep coming this night, his thoughts were more focused on Devin’s actions than the newfound knowledge of her name. The poorly socialized Daniel had gone from hardly any human confrontation, to trying to figure out the highly confusing actions and thoughts of this strange wizard. For all he knew, everyone in Denver could act this way, though he knew that if they did, he would hardly be able comprehend anything that went on in the outside world. Daniel’s head swam with thoughts as Devin told him he was warm, which he responded with a confused mumble, “Thank you..” which almost came out in question form.

When Devin began to rid the water from his damp clothes, he watched the water form to her fingers and then fall to the ground in droplets. It was a sight he had never witnessed before, and the action itself was compelling to view. For a moment, the hunter wondered what it was like to use magic, and how long it took to learn these little tricks. In fear of sounding repetitive, Daniel kept himself from thanking Devin again. For a moment he watched the wizard, then his features took on a quizzical look as he realized what she had just done. If Devin could take the water out of his clothes, she could easily get rid of the problem with her own clothes.

Daniel was about to say something about the whole situation, but as he was about to speak, Devin quickly shouted out in excitement to his mention of a bath, and quickly closed the door as if the bathroom was the wizard’s newfound haven. Daniel sighed, walking away with extreme confusion. It wasn’t until he dug the thick, yellow phone book out of a drawer, that he remembered the wizard’s name. He sat down in the desk chair with exasperation, as the whole ‘boy or girl?’ dilemma had gone unchanged. A part of him thought that with the knowledge of the wizard’s name would come the realization of her gender, but of course, “Devin Livingston,” he mumbled as he flipped though the pages. He quickly found the address he was searching for, recalling the street name from wandering around the city. There was no telling when Devin would be done in the bathroom, and Daniel could guess that it wouldn’t be for a while, so instead of waiting, he made his way to the opposite end of his house, finding a few moments of comfort in a large chair in front of a heating vent. If it were a different night, Daniel would’ve easily recalled that his house was a trap full of deadly weapons, but tonight it just seemed to pass his mind.

Melanie had remained silent for several moments, listening for sounds of a developing fight. There were none that she could hear, so whatever had happened between that Vampire and Werewolf wasn't close enough to worry about. She let it go. "Cailee, we should get going, and do some training before it gets too late." She spoke to the girl without looking at her, her gaze still fixed intently in the direction the wolf's howl had come from. She wondered if the city authorities would involve themselves. They probably would. Would they let a dangerous animal continue to roam the streets? Very unlikely. They'd probably be on alert for the rest of the night, at least. Lovely.

"See you around, Malcolm. Try not to get yourself too deep in trouble." She glanced at him. "And send up a flare if you do." By flare, she didn't really mean the type of thing that regular people would use in an emergency.

Wizards always put out a type of magical aura, though the older one got or the more proficient in the art they became, the easier it was for them to mask that aura. This made it easier for them to be around technology - though it was never really safe. However, it was possible to use that same force to alert the other Wizards in the area of danger. It was basically invisible - some Wizards had a slight bit of color to their aura, some didn't - and it wasn't really shot up so much as out. Wizards half-way across the city could sense it and then come to the rescue. It was useful, though it did mean that the enemies could sense the same energy as they could.

In other words, it would turn into a very nasty fight. It didn't happen often. But tonight seemed particularly dangerous, what with the city's supernatural citizens at each others throats.

Gesturing for Cailee to follow her, Melanie started walking away from Malcolm. "Now normally, I would just have you practice in the lab back at my house. But seeing as I have some delicate projects back there, and air magic can get kind of destructive when not handled correctly. And it's not so nice when it is handled correctly, so outdoors is the way to go." She cleared her throat. "That means we have to go somewhere that people won't be, but it's too dangerous to leave town. So we'll be going to the big park. Some Wizards go there occasionally to practice, and we've set up wards so that mortals feel uncomfortable going near the training grounds. It'll be safe enough. If anything happens, though, and one of the Werewolves or the Vampires starts causing trouble, do exactly what I say. Only run if I tell you to, and do not fight them."

Melanie looked down at her out of the corner of her eye. "If you don't listen to me, then I won't train you. Being an Apprentice means you have to trust me, listen to me, and do what I say when I say it. No questions asked. I'm sure you've got this speech before, but I want to make sure we're clear." She raised an eyebrow, waiting for a response.

The voices were easy for Marco to pick up on and he knew that William wouldn't be to far behind on hearing them either. Quickly he was able to recall the voices he heard clearly as if they were beside him. Alastar and the vampire mistress, Alette. Spying on them would gave him excellent knowledge on Tasha condition and future plans they might have for her. Once William gave him the word to go, Marco went his seperate way from his friend. He did not need to worry about William, he could take care of himself in hostile environment. He wasn't as worry for himself as he should of been either. Even if he was to be spotted, which was likely, defending himself would be simple. He has seen the way Alastar fights so it was only natural how he would defend himself against him. By some chance if they both attack him directly he had to stay on his toes and avoid getting hit. That shouldn't be too diffcult for him in this state, Marco was agile, alert, and quickier now. Course he hoped that it didn't come down to a confrontation.

Easing down towards the ground to mask his scent with the pavement, Marco crept silently along the shadows that cast his already darker form into nothingness. He check the scents twice to make sure his path was clear before moving from one spot to another. The plan was to get alittle bit closer for him to get all the details from them even if they begun to suspect someone was there and started to whisper. His eyes darted from left to right, up and down before he crawled closer to their location, hoping that he wasn't spotted but anything else. Any roaming vampire might not have picked him up yet but two vampires speaking secretly to each other might be more aware of something out of place in their own area. "Easy now Marco, you mustn't get paranoid about the situation until they suspect you being there," he told himself, still taking his time as he crept closer. He had no back up, no one could help him if things took a turn for the worse. Once false move and he could be surround by hordes of vampires before he could get one howl out.

He did make a good point, but it hardly excused him. No matter what he said, she'd rather that they had known he was going to pull this kind of stunt in advance. But worrying about it now wouldn't change what had already happened, so she let it go. There were other things that demanded her attention, now. "I don't hate you. I don't think that there's anything you could do within your own power that would make me hate you." She relaxed just slightly - a slight sag of her shoulders. "Well, I hope you're right. I don't want this to continue any longer. If somehow this leads to the end of all the fighting..." Alette trailed off, her gaze shifting a few degrees to the right.

She didn't worry herself over the fact that Alastar had hesitated in saying something else, and she doubted that what he said next was the same thing he'd been debating with himself about.

The sound of Alette's answering chuckle was somewhat forced, and the small smile she directed his way wasn't entirely sincere. How could it be, when she was so on edge? "I suppose that's true. You both are too much alike in that aspect." Her face hardened, the smile setting in cold stone. "That doesn't mean that I want you in harm's way. Not at all. So please, don't be foolish tonight. Behave at least slightly less destructive, and try not to draw attention to yourself. The last thing we need right now is to lose you."

She sighed, taking a few steps toward him as she did. "You're like a brother to me, Alastar." She smiled, threw a punch at his chest - hard enough to put some decent sized cracks in the side of a brick building, though it would only bruise him - and then patted him on the shoulder. A little too roughly. "A really annoying brother."

As she passed him, Alette picked up speed. "Enjoy your meal. See you at home." Then she was off, heading back to the mansion as quickly as she could.

An almost skeletal hand snaked across the unsuspecting man’s face. The frozen form of the pedestrian stayed in a statuesque state as the witch surveyed the young face with little interest. Her spider-like hand patted the man’s cheek, a sad expression on her face, but a gleeful glint in her eyes, “Poor thing. You do not know how true beauty feels.” When the figure did not move in response, Amelia smiled in approval, her burgundy glossed lips stretching to create an awkwardly attractive curve.

As the lithe figure that was Amelia began to walk away, her midnight black hair trailing silkily behind her, that same hand that had caressed the young face, pulled the silver chain that was hanging around her neck, revealing a vintage locket that had been hiding between her breasts. With quick habitual skill, a finger opened the locket and pushed the big hand of the clock until it clicked. The simple action resulted in the complete reanimation of city nightlife. Behind her, the man resumed walking forward with no idea of the silent speculation he was put through.

Yes, one of the many perks of Amelia’s magical talents had just been demonstrated. Manipulating time would always be her forte, yet the simplicity of her stunts were greatly under estimated if thought was that stopping and starting time flow was all she could do. In fact, her appearance was greatly affected by this outstanding ability. It also allowed her to eavesdrop on the feuding-factions’ special get togethers.

Amelia had actually just arrived from listening in on the werewolves little meeting of sorts. It was reconnaissance work on Amelia’s highest, and most favorite, level. The part where the scruffy leader of the dogs whispered to his woman about finding the Merlin made the witch laugh with hysteric delight. “Good luck finding him. I lost his aura a few hours ago. He’s hiding tonight, it seems…” she murmured as she walked the streets, her pink tongue sliding across her lips deliciously.

Although she was pleased with the lack of confrontations lately (since it created less work for her), the city was starting to get boring, and Amelia needed a little action. ‘Maybe getting a little involved in this whole war wouldn’t be so bad…’ the thought caused a smirk to erupt on the woman’s perfect face, as she took her thick hair in her hands and threw it to one side of her neck. Thoughts of a good rumble diminished as she started passing one of the skyscraper buildings.

Amelia stared happily into the black, mirrored windows that lined the entire building, a sinful grin appearing on her face as she admired her dark reflection. Tonight, the witch wore a short cocktail style dress. The sleeves were long, but didn’t pass her elbows, and her chest was exposed with a low, straight cut across the top of her cleavage. A sash was cinched at her small waist, tied in a large bow to the side. Amelia grabbed the bottom of her dress with two sweeping movements, modeling the garment as a show tune pushed itself out of her throat.

“This irresistible Paris original, I’m wearing tonight…” Although the article may have once been Paris material, it was now worn down. The yellow color was dated and aged, along with the once white lace lining the sleeves and skirt of the dress. A few stains spotted the off-white sash, and a couple of tears could be seen here and there along the fabric. Even the dark, leather boots that she wore on her thin feet were weathered, though they did add an extra two inches to her already lengthy height.

As she hummed and strolled on down the sidewalk, her large, icy blue eyes never left her alluring reflection. Well, of course, not until she passed the building entirely. A thought processed in her mind that she might hear something interesting if she were to venture to the vampire’s side of the city. William would be arriving right about now, and the discussion between the two leaders wasn’t something she wanted to miss. Of course, Amelia was only halfway through the city, and it might take her a while to get there, but with time on her side, or more literally, on her chest, it wouldn’t be much of a problem.
