Luna munches listlessly on her impromtu dinner. "I heawd her scweam at me... hewr powr howse... I bwoke it... she wiked dat howse."

"He no towch boxxxx..." she says firmly. "I no wanna him towching boxxxxx."

Champhy chuckles. "Don't worry, my little night flyer... he's not going anywhere near your room. The Mistress has forbidden him from entering and Crash promised me he'd do the cleaning by himself from now on and said straight up he will meet with you in the morning to see what he can touch and what he can't."

Champhy gives him a dirty look but holds her piece. At least he didn't go after the roast again. She gives them a plate of cookies to take upstairs and a bucket of milk to wash it down with.

"I'm sure you have mugs and bowls a plenty in yer room, from all those snacks ye've snuck..." she tells Kero shooing them out of her tiny kingdom. "An' I've got work to do... Off with ye now. Iffin she eats another bite she's gonna burst. Look at her belly. How round it is..."

The ladle wags itself at him in a blatant warning. If he touches the roast he's going to get his knuckles rapped but good.


**I'm off for the night, kiddo... ye get some rest... sleep well, don't let the bed bugs bite...**

His subterfuge has completely undone the ladle. It vibrates oddly then clatters to the floor, it's animation a thing of the past.

Champhy picks it up with a sigh. "Awww, look what ye've gone and done now. That's the third ladle ye've gone and messed around with since ye arrived. At this rate, I'm going to run out of set spells and forced to resort to the tried and true." She places it in the sink and gives him a dirty look.

"Twied and twue..." echoes Luna in confusion.

"She'll have to chase me around the table whacking at me all on her own... no magic allowed." laughs Kero picking her up, then teleporting the cookies and milk to her room.

"She could use to lose a few pounds..." mutters a familiar voice from the doorway.

They turn to see Lyssan come in, covered with saw dust.

"What happened with you?" laughs the cook with a grin.

"Carpenter ants..." grumbles the kitsune testily. She turns to look at Kero and sighs. "I am getting a new stable... they've taken over the other one... but we've come to an agreement... They'll allow us to use it until the new one is built for access to the grain silo and they will help keep the current and new structures in shape until the hill dies off... Hill... heck, it's more like a space colony in there right now... I"m just grateful none of my upgrades can breed... They weren't too happy to learn that, but the queen was grateful she doesn't have to spend the rest of her life pouring out new workers..."

Lyssan chuckles good naturedly. "Ah, but yer far more lenient than Ame is going to be... perhaps I should comply... then I can always say I've been punished...." She winks at the two and takes a step toward a corner when the kitchen door bangs open and Amestru enters, his face resembling a thunder cloud. Fast on his heels is the irate head groom.

"Alysian Moonspeak..." he growls warningly.

She turns to Kero and sighs. "Too late... unless ye want her hearing what he has to say... and I warn ye, it's bound to be a bit heated... ye better take her upstairs. Ame and I have an agreement about this realm and well, I kind of bent a few rules..."

"Bent... Ye came damn near to snapping them into a gazillion pieces... Lady Heart! Whatever were ye thinking." roars the okami.

Kero looks around while Luna cowers against him, wide eyed. In a matter of seconds the kitchen had miraculously emptied itself of all workers, including the steel skinned Champhy. Laughing to himself, he winks upstairs, cradling the tiny dragon in his arms.

He appears laughing so hard that Tes runs to catch Luna from his grasp before he drops her.

"Daddy, wuff's bending rules... how can ye bend rules... dey noff pieces of sticks..." says Luna worriedly. "Ish Gamma gonna be OK?"

He finds he needs to search a bit for the two spirit born as they are no longer in the kitchen. No doubt they knew how imperative it was for Champhy to keep on top of things and had left her domain for something a little less open. He finds them finally, sitting before the fire in his study, the one outside his labs. And neither one seems to be backing down.

"I had a very good reason to do what I did." growls the kitsune defensively, her voice tense with determination.

"Ha! You were only looking for the easy way out as usual. Kero should have repaired the damage himself. He created it." retorts Amestru with a bitter laugh. "Damn it, Lyssie. We don't need more mouths to feed around here."

The kitsune queen chuckles sourly. "As though we weren't already feeding them. You know damn well they were nibbling on our stuff before I lifted them up to our level... Why should it matter now? The hill won't be getting any larger than it is and they are building us a new stable to replace the one they commandiered... We fully agreed on that. Besides, Kero had his hands full. Luna needed him."
