The face of the smaller priest brightens as he speaks. "please, allow me to assist you." she practically begs reaching out to touch Hopian's hand.

The older priest chuckles warmly at her eagerness. "I brought Sharmistra with me with that very thought in mind. I did not realize you had help, Talesian... or I would have asked first. But she is the temples healer and is quite curious about other races, as she was raised by centaurs as a child." He smiles kindly down at her. "I really do not mind her passion, it is only right and proper to care for those who cannot care for themselves. If Master Hopian does not mind, you may help him attend to the cub, Shar, but do not get into his way."

"I'm a healer, little one... Master Hopian has kindly allowed me to help him attend to you. That way, when he leaves, following his visit, I might know better how to help if ever you grow sick again. M'sirra, what ailment affects him, I've seen nothing of it's kind in the village... and do all lion tails drip so?"

She approaches the cub and kneels by his head, reaching out to stroke his neck. Immediately Kerobian feels warmth and strength through her touch. Oh, she is indeed a healer in every sense of the word and he will need to keep his barricades up or she'll know more about him than he may want her to know.

Sharmistra gives him a startled look. "He's poisonous!" she exclaims loudly, worriedly edging away. "And Master Talesian send him to the general classes?"

Meanwhile back in the main room, Tam is serving up dinner to the Dawnlord and talking business. He hears Sharmistra's cry of alarm and runs in scared half out of his wits.

Sharmistra nods cautiously and returns to the cubs side. "I'm sorry, little one... I've had bad experiences with the fanged ones... Can ye tell me where it hurts?" She looks back across her shoulder at Tam and smiles weakly. "Forgive me, Master Talesian. I fear I've startled ye without good reason. How old is the cub now, might I ask? From what I've heard around the temple I would have thought him far older than ten already."

Sharmistra shakes her head. I would never have thought of that. Does it work for just him or can it be used for anyone?" She strokes her hands along the length of Kero's body, seeking out the source of trouble. "You know, Hopian, if I didn't know better I'd say he's suffering from some sort of toxicity. What has he been eating?"

"Seems to be rather powerful stuff." says Sharmistra pushing the cub back down to the bed. "Oh no you don't, little one. Even if this illness was brought on by stress and exhaustion, your body is still being slowly poisoned by your own muscles. You exert yourself too much and you will be far worse off then you are right now." She looks back at Hopian and nods. "He should stay in bed at least until the toxins have left his system. You will make certain that he does so, will you not?"

**no known true connection between animals and humans as yet but she is working form the concept of the General Adaptation Syndrome... just because no link has been uncovered doesn't mean it doesn't exist... Horses have been known to collapse and die after too many consecutive races.**

Sharmistra stands up and nods. "I do think that will be advisable. Kerobian shouldn't be moved, except to relieve himself. I'll go fetch him, myself." She walks into the main room and clears her throat hesitantly, so as not to interrupt rudely.

Tam looks up with a tired nervous grin. "So how is the patient, Dawn's Mistress? What's the verdict? Is he going to live?" Something about his voice shows he is not too concerned about Kerobian getting any worse, but that he is worried all the same.

The young priest bows slightly to the two men and smiles. "He'll live, but he's going to be one sick kitty for some time yet, I'm afraid. Master Mica... could you please attend him, m'sirra. I suspect part of his problem stems from a very guilty conscious. He appears to be worried sick. It would be to his benefit if you assure him that in no way will we abandon him."

The older priest rises to his feet instantly. "Lathander forbid. He's but a child... with so much promise in him. I will certainly see to him. You should eat something as well, Shar. Talesian has generously provided with this fine meal. We should not let it go to waste."

Mica smiles kindly down at the cub and nods. "Master Hopian was right to correct you, Kerobian. Talesian isn't an empath and you, my dear cub, need training. Just so happens that Sharmistra's talents and yours seem to lie along the same path in that respect, so I will be adding a new class to your regimen. You will also attend her in the clinic helping with the ill and learning better control. Once you are declared well enough to return to your classes that is."
