Tam takes it with nervous fingers. "Sentient objects always make me uneasy... I had a harp once who agenda was definitely in opposition to mine... and iffin I wear this around here, I'll just get mugged. Has it given ye any idea as to it's purpose?"

Tam shrugs and takes the ring up to his room, where he finds a silver chain to put it on, obscuring it with a small spell, making it look like a simple charm, he hangs it about his neck. He would have hid it in a drawer under his bed, but he has had some experience with sentient objects and if they were using you as a means to get to where they want to go, no matter where you left them, they found a way to get on your person. This way he could wear it and hide it at the same time. He just hoped it would be soon. The spell he cast was an easy thing to crack.

He goes downstairs and tells Hopian he is going to the inn to arrainge for their evening meal to be delivered.

Tam nods worriedly. Hopian keeps reassuring him Kerobian is fine, but it is hard to reconcile what he sees with Hopian's words. He walks slowly to the inn, trying to figure out a way to help the cub, but he has not come to any solution by the time he arrives.

"I hear the cub has gotten himself in trouble." says the innkeeper as he enters the place.

Tam shakes his head ruefully. "Aye, that he has... him and me both, old friend. There's no way "Master Talesian" could repay for it... much less simple old "Tam".

"Sad, actually... it was a good prank gone bad." says the man with a twisted grin. "Me boy told me what he did... and why... or at least he thinks he knows why. Bro. Grayson is a bit of a bore, iffin ye catch me drift. Not a bad teacher with the older lads, but with the younger ones he speaks right over their heads."

Tam snorts through his nose and shrugs. "Nevertheless, he is really in trouble and sick to boot. I think it may be nothing more than a serious case of nerves, but he's taken to hs bed with a fever. He's scared stiff they are going to tell him not to come back." He sighs and laughs bitterly, "and I've got the Dawnlord coming over to dinner tonight, to speak with us about the fact. Ack, I'm grasping at straws here... but do ye think I could have someone send over a meal fit for persuasion just before the evening song? He's to arrive shortly after."

The man assures the bard he will have a feast sent over, certain to charm the hide off the sternest retribution and not to worry. That everyone in the town knows the cub did not do the act out of meanness or anything of the sort.

**We could have used that a week ago or so when we went on a picknic on the beach.**

Tam returns home to find Kerobian awake and he is overjoyed. Giving the cub a hug, he tells him a little bit about his and Hopian's plans. Not all of it, of course, some would work best if Kero just didn't know about it until it happened. (Such as the miracle in the temple.)

"So we are having company for dinner. The Dawnlord is coming with someone from his staff, he didn't say who... so I want you to be on your best behavior, Taro. Are you hungry, can I get you anything.. and why is Hopian grinning like a cat with his paws in the cream>"

Tam shakes his head, gives Kero another hug and slips him his tiny flute, before going off to straighten up the cottage. As they really haven't been living there all that long, it is a simple task. Then he sets the table for dinner and decides to practise a bit while they wait for the dawnlord to appear.

Tam rolls his eyes and shakes his head. "Yer just a big tabby at heart, ye know that don't ye." he says in a whispered tease and continues to play, but in truth he is just as anxious and nervous about thins as Hopian is.

The kind elderly Dawnlord and a smaller female priest (Lathander's sect doesn't differentiate between sexl in rank). The older priest eyes Hopian with a slight frown. "Pardon me, I'm looking for the home of Master Talesian."
