Amestru nods absentmindedly. "Yes... yes... of course it would. Lunar magic is wild magic. But it also follows a distinct rhythm... when Tam first appeared, we didn't know what to expect or what to think about him. He is strongly attached to the moon as well as the sun. It made no sense to begin with. He'd age over night and grow young during the day and vise versa. It took both Lyssie and I to help him gain control. And we did it by severing his tie to the sun's cycles. Then we had to reinforce his links to the moon and the night. He can function during the day, but he's more powerful after dark, iffin ye catch me drift. I'm not sure if any of what we did will apply to ye, but it can't hurt to try. Wouldn't ye agree?"

Amestru's eyes widen, then he nods once firmly. "But of course. Though ye do realize, staying young may just be only one of the outcomes we could achieve. Ye could also age rapidly. I will do my best to make certain it doesn't go that route, but as I said, lunar magic is a wild magic. At best, all we can truly do is harness it for a very brief moment in time."

He sits down and takes out a stylus and a wax tablet. "Now before we beign I need to know as much about the spell and how it was to work originally. Was it voidic magic or something else. Jor tends to mix his media, so to speak. He liberally doses his voidic magic with the divine and tosses in whatever he thinks fits the moment. So did he consult with you on this?"

Amestru seems intrigued by how voidic magic works. "Lunar magic is spherical and ye work in layers, like an onion." he explains, extending his hand before him and calling a small gently glowing orb into view. Then he does the same with his other hand, only this orb is anything but gentle, but bright and vibrant and sparking with energy. He smiles and extends it slightly to Kero.

"Solar magic is much the same." he says, then he gets up and walks to a nearby workbench and sits the orbs onto two small pedestals. "Now lunar magic and solar magic are like the opposite end of a magnet. They attrract and they repel. Watch." He sets the pedestals at a certain distance on the table the and orbs start moving towards one another but once they reach a certain point they stop dead still. "Ye can layer either one with many forms of magic, but ye cannot combine the two without disastrous results. How Tam came to have both, we do not know, but he was paying for the union with every breath he took. Here... try to push them together, ye'll see what I mean."

Amestru nods with a sly smile. "Very well, we'll need to summon Jor. Do ye want to do the honors or should we sic lyssie on him?"

Amestru turns to call out to Lyssan who is walking through the door with another haunch of meat. This time it is still on the bone. His eyes widen and he smiles. "I was just going to ask that ye go find Jor for us, Lyssie...."

She sits the haunch down on the table next to Kero and rubs his ears worriedly. "What do ye want him for?" shes asks in confusion. "Two of the strongest mages I know are sitting right here in this room and ye want to drag in the snake?"

"So what are we doing about it, holding a intervention?" she asks, her sharp shrewd face growing even more intense.

Lyssan smiles, relieved. "Ye might not realize this, but dragging Jor here to yell at him for swearing in front of the kids is a bit well counter productive." says Lyssan with an amused grin. "He'll be so upset at us, he'll be swearing a blue streaks for weeks."

Lyssan wrinkles her nose at him and leaves by the door. Amestru sees Kero's curiosity and explains. "The lab is shielded. It is best ye remain in here for the time being. She can't port from in here true but the moon's influence is also muted. If you are already feeling it's pull in here. Only the Lady knows what would be happening out there. So, here's what I propose to do. I suspect that the reason ye keep having difficulty with the recasting of the spell is that luna's influence is affecting ye. So what would happen iffin we attempted to do the reverse of what we did with Tam. We recast yer rejuvenation spell in a solar shield sphere, which would isolate ye from the moon's effects. But it would only be a temporary separation. Once the spell is successfully cast then we drop the shield and let the moon govern yer transformations as it should have done in the first place."
