I think he died because now he's just sitting in my kitchen and he's not moved all day, but I don't want to get close enough to find out. I'm a big fan of trapping insects and spiders and the like under an ice cream container (or similar) and waiting for my boyfriend to come over to take them outside for me -I hate killing things!!

Crickets don't weird me out...mostly cuz I have to actually go and buy them every week. Any more I think of them as Toad Food.

Crickets don't wierd me out as long as they stay where they belong and not in my kitchen. I'm weird that way, if I see a daddy long legs crawling across my sleeping bag when I'm out camp it's "Oh look, isn't he cute' and just put him outside the tent, but find one in my house, I totally lose it.
For me, they were snake food. I used to drop about a dozen live ones in his cage or a bunch of guppies in his lake (pie pan full of water) and let him hunt. He loved it.
I am now convinced he died so I was able to get to my food (too bad I can't do dishes because he is right in front of the sink).
