Kerobian *Hopian takes the pipe in his hands...and it seems to glow...slowly melting back into it's proper shape...strangely...on hopian's forehead...the opal seems to have an eye behind it...soon, the pipe is repaired* I may not be a vampire anymore...but I still know a few tricks...and Tzimizce aren't the only bonecrafters...Salubri can do it too...that's how we healed things... Tam smiles with gratitude. "Thanks, Hopian. It isn't much but it is the first thing I bought him, so he's rather attached to it, even if I bought it while he was just going through a moon phase and not this whole rejuvenation thing he's on now. How he's managed to hold on to it all this time, I haven't a clue. I've given him other pipes since then, but this is the one he keeps pulling out to use."

*Hopian smiles*
He is my brother, Tam...closer than almost any siblings...
But let's let him sleep now...he's too tired to be playing anything...Do you want me to come with you tomorrow...I can take human form, no biggie...the opal becomes a circlet...and I can mentally communicate as well...perhaps I can help connect you two during your meeting with the headmaster...

Tam scratches his head. "He's seems awfully weak. Will it be safe to move him. I could request that the man come here instead. Offer to make him dinner and have Kero who's "sick with worry" apologize. Ye could be a visiting friend who just so happens to be someone versed in the care and treatment of animal illnesses... I warn ye though, iffin word gets out ye do that, we may get a bunch of visitors... farmers mostly who have sick animals... Can ye handle that?"

*Hopian nods*
Just put out the word that I care for exotic animals...that should keep most of them away...don't put too much stress on him...

Tam nods then laughs ruefully. "And I got the perfect reason why ye'd be here... you had given me Kerobian to foster and were stopping by to check up on him... serendipity... perfect timing sort of thing." He yawns and shakes his head ruefully. "Don't know about ye, but I am exhausted. Do ye want to sleep down here near him or come up stairs... m'bed is big enough for an army."

*Hopian shudders...Tam gets an image of a lioness, crowned with Lapis Lazuli...roaring at him when she sees a picture of him in bed with a fox...*
*Quickly* I think I'll stick around here for a while.....you can have the bed...

Tam chuckles wickedly and waggles his eyebrows at him. "She's afraid the hopelessly amoral bard is going to seduce her mate, huh." Then he sighs and shakes his head. "That's Bez's providence, not mine, Hopian. I seduce no one... and bed only those partners who come to me willingly." Then he sighs once more with feeling. "Which is why I'm single by the way. No takers, no permanent ones that is. Anyway, the offer is still open. Ye can even pile a line of pillows between us iffin ye want. There's enough of them. Good night." And he climbs the stairs to his room, but not before checking on Kerobian first.

Tam kisses him on the forehead and goes to bed, arranging the bed with a huge stack of pillows down the middle just in case Hopian does want a softer less damp bed to sleep in. The he crashes, realizing he has only a few hours before day beak and a long day ahead of him.

When he awakes, there is a smell of cooking food...and Hopian is sitting at the table, a pan of bacon gently sizzling behind him...slowly, the young lion-turned-human is polishing the diamond Kero had found, buffing it to mirror brightness...taking a dagger out of his pack, he very gently begins to carve it down, breaking it into numerous smaller pieces, each possessing just as much beauty as the original...until he nitces Tam, he keep doing this, setting the dust into a small vial and polishing the small pieces, seeimingly to set into a small ring, necklace, and amulet beside him...the items disappear into his pack the instant he sees the fox, and he grabs some food and shoves it towards him*
Eat....Kero's still out cold...be glad he taught me how to cook...I can't outdo him...but I can hold my own...and you've got the headmaster to see...

Tam digs in with gusto. Breakfast has always been his favorite meal of the day. "So what kind of amulet are ye carving, anyway. Protection... purification... or what?"

*Hopian chuckles*
You'll see...now scoot...the headmaster musn't be kept waiting...I'll clean up...it's good to settle for a couple of days...away from the mate, I mean...love her to death...but...not at this time of the moon...
*Shoves Tam out the door towards the temple*

Tam chuckles, sops up the grease form the bacon with his bread and then dumps his dishes in the pot of water he keeps sitting by the fire for cleaning purposes. Snatching up his bread to munch on as he walks he shoves his hat on his head and grabs his cloak, holding the bread in his mouth while he fastens it on.
"I'll be back as quickly as I can. I can't demand an appearance... only request one. Master Talesian holds no sway in this village, though a few do indeed know who I am. We have a polite pretense going. They pretend they don't know me and I pretend to be just a lowly bard." He winks as he darts out the door, then walks towards the temple whistling a jaunty tune.

*Hopian rolls his eyes, cleaning up the dishes and taking care of the cub...he goes into the cubs room and gets back to work, finishing the basic craftsmanship and starting the enchantment of the pieces...except the ring...he's saving that...*

As Tam feare, he was indeed left to stew for several hours while the head priest of the local temple saw to his morning routine, but as soon as the man saw who was waiting he rushes forward to greet the bard enthusiastically. "Master Talesian, I am so sorry... my aide didn't say who was waiting only that a villager wanted to speak with me."
Tam rollls his eyes and sighs, "So much for living here incognito then isn't it?" He waves off the priest's apology and smiles a twisted smile. "Let me guess yer aide, he wouldn't be related to Bro. Grayson now, would he?"
The elderly man smiles wisely, "Why yes, he's the fine brother's nephew. Ah, I see, yer here because of the chalkboard in Bro. Grayson's class room. That is an unhappy misfortune."
"Misfortune my foot. Kerobian damaged it and we will pay... one way or the other, m"sirra. I'm afraid life on the road has left us with few funds, now that we have decided to settle down and have spent most of our savings purchasing a home, but we would like to speak with you concerning this. Kero is worries sick. My fosterling hasn't even left his bed today, so sure he is that your people are going to tell him he cannot return to his classes. When I checked on him last, he was honestly ill over the fact. So I was hoping we might persuade you to dine with us tonight, so we can iron out the particulars... say at around dusk, following your evening services?"
The elderly head priest nods and then asks if he can bring a companion. Seeing nothing wrong with this, Tam nods in gratitude, then he returns home as quickly as he can, hoping that Kerobian is feeling better.
