*Hopian nods*

Morning sun....what's in his power? What does he rule over?
PostPosted: Wed Aug 05, 2009 3:16 pm

Tam smiles. "Actually when I saw a temple for him here, I knew we needed to stay. Lathander is often known as "The Morning Lord". He is the god of spring, dawn, birth, renewal, creativity, youth, vitality, self-perfection and athletics. And his domains are good, nobility, protection, renewal, strength, and sun. He does have this thing for the undead though and that kind of made me think twice about putting Kero under their protection. But Kero, as an adult, does the work of Lathander, just as he does the work of many gods, so I see no problem there really. He's the patron of the finer arts and known to bless and watch over new life. He's one of the all-father's favored sons."

*Hopian nods*

Hmmm....morning sun...all those things don't seem to be in my power...I'm lightning born...need something shocked...I'm your man...hmmm....I think I know how to do it...does he have power over fire?
PostPosted: Wed Aug 05, 2009 5:24 pm

"Hmmm.... sorry... his forte is light not fire... but... wait... I've an idea... not sure how ye can pull it off though. The center of his rose window is a magnifying glass. It's really not very strong. At least the one here isn't. At the main temple in Morningholme, they use it during the solstices to light fires... though I suspect they actually light them with a spell... still it is strong enough to cause a bit of tinder to smoke.... iffin ye can pull it off that the glass actually starts a fire in the incense dish..." Tam eyes twinkle mischieviously..." say while Kero s playing the morning greeting..."

*Hopian nods*

I can wield light when I have to...though I can't become light without Kero's help...our fighting style is unique...remind us to show it to you sometimes...

As for that...Yes, I can arrange for that...a flash of light...a spark turned to a beam...and fire we have...I can slow the lightning...give myself a St. Elmo's fire effect...and EM the slate in...a perfect show...and should convince the priests, at the very least...unless some of them know about me and my power...

Tam shrugs. I haven't said anything, don't think sleeping beauty here has either. Ok, I'll go to the temple tomorrow and say that Kero is sick with worry he's going to be kicked out. Arrange for him to appear before the head master the following day. Ye say it will take him days to recover right. So he'll still be under the weather and won't have to fake a thing. And we'll take it from there. How does that sound"

He shifts into griffin form and asks Hopian to help him get Kerobian up on his back. "The less yer seen around town the better." says Tam with a wink. "Not that ye've been seen yet, but all it takes is one slip up, one child's peering eyes and our story becomes a bit less do-able."

*Hopian nods*

Don't worry...my brother taught me all about secrecy and hiding...and I even took a few lessons from his master when he came down with Wyvern Fever...not pretty...trust me...

*Sparks off...Kero soon stirs*

Sira...I don feel so good...

Tam bows his head in acknowledgment of Kero's illness and tells him to hold on tight while they fly back to the cottage. "It's gonna take a bit of flying, kiddo. We're nowhere near the village and I'm going to fly low, so iffin ye feel like heaving again, let me know, ok... the smell of wet feathers and puke is not pretty, trust me..."

*Kero groans, and nods...the coughs...a pitiful attempt at a chuckle*

Good thing I'm grounded...I can't move...not really...*He manages to climb to his feet...but he is exceedingly shaky...barely able to move...
PostPosted: Wed Aug 05, 2009 10:25 pm

Tam kneels so the cat can climb onto his back swearing at Hopian under his breath. "Darn show off. I asked for his help and what does he do... but dart off..." Once Kero is settled into place and clinging tight enough to make Tam flinch, he launches himself into the air, flying low over the ground so that if the cub does lose his grip he doesn't have far to fall.

*Hopian is waiting for them at their house, where he takes charge of Kero...once he has him put to bed, he comes out, stirring a small potion he has simmering by the fire*

Just so you know, Talesian...I hear everything Kero hears at this range...a mile in, we share a single mind...he just thinks it's his empathy...I know better...and I am helping...or would you prefer that he be an invalid for a month? The sooner I administer this potion, the better...and it takes an hour to make...there...done...*He goes into Kero's room, slowly tilting the liquid down his throat*...be glad he's asleep...this stuff smells foul, tastes worse, and feels like liquid ice going down...plus it gives some lions gas...hopefully, Kero isn't one of them...

Tam nods thoughtfully and goes to change his clothes, coming back in a clean pair of pants and a half-buttoned shirt. "Sorry, Hopian... he kind of didn't get me down in time. I got most of it out of me hair but my clothes may be ruined... so, how is he?"

*Hopian shakes his head*

Weak...very weak...he won't be leaving his bed unless he's carried for a while...at least a week...he's making a lot of comments about that...which is good...he's a joker...except when he feels things are truly serious...were he scared for his life, he would be serious...he's saying...that he's glad he's grounded...it'll prevent awkward questions...and...he wants to know if he can have one of his intruments...to pass the time as he heals...

Tam shakes his head sadly. I guess he doesn't remember that he slashed them both to ribbons in a fit of anger. I managed to repair the harp, but when yer confined to be, harps aren't the easiest things to be playing. I've been trying to repair the pipe, but I fear it is beyond true repair. Wait here... Tam climbs upstairs and digs out the instruments from under his pillows. He brings them down and shows them to Hopian. The harp gleams slightly in the candlelight, the only sign of it's harrowing brush with destruction is a thin silvery seam down one side. Tam forces a tear then touches the strings with it, causing them to sing at hs touch. "yep, it's fine, better than before, actually. My master once said that to be truly perfect one needs to knocked down a few times and put back together... whatever that means. But I think what he was getting at is that one cannot achieve perfection on the first try..."

Tam hands Hopian the harp and examines the pipe once more. "No, I can't fix this. It's useless." Then he goes over to the cabinets and pulls out a small bone flute and hands it to Hopian in exchange for the harp. Let him have that and I store this away for him when he's gotten his head together again."

*Hopian takes the pipe in his hands...and it seems to glow...slowly melting back into it's proper shape...strangely...on hopian's forehead...the opal seems to have an eye behind it...soon, the pipe is repaired*

I may not be a vampire anymore...but I still know a few tricks...and Tzimizce aren't the only bonecrafters...Salubri can do it too...that's how we healed things...
