Now he is well and truly angry at Kerobian, but knows that if he goes back to the cottage in this stae, they'll only escalate matters until tings are out of control, so he goes for a walk along the river and runs into two of the boys from Kekrobian's math class, who ask iffin the cat will be allowed to return to the school since he had managed to get the priest there so angry they threatened to kick him out.

Tam sighs and tells them to go let Kero know this but not to stay as the cub was being punished right then.

He storms his way through the underbrush until he reaches their favorite fishing hole up by the falls and finds himself a rock to sit on.

"So the brat has got himself in trouble once again... ye really should drop him, dulcha... like a hot potato... think of what he's doing to yer reputation."

Tam skin crawls at the sound of Bez's voice, so seductively smooth and reasonable.

"Bah..." growls the dark angel. "Yer surrounded by mutts... " and he disappears in a flurry of dried leaves.

Tam sighs and gives Hopian a shrug. "At least all he's doing is talking. Could be worse, I suppose."

Tam sighs, nothing new there. He already knew Kerobian was lying, had been fairly certain of the fact from the start. The one reason he had gone to see the priest was to assess the damage and confirm the fact. As for Bez, well, lying was Bez's forte and he told his best ones without ever speaking a mistruth. Realizing it was getting late, he started his way back home. It was time to put his foot down and putting it off wasn't going to make things any easier.

Tam says nothing. Instead he picks him up by the scruff, knowing it hurts but also knowing it was time to take the upper hand. He carries him to his room and plops him on his bed.

"Kerobian, one more lie out of you and I am going to have to start taking yer instruments away. Do you understand me? Not only have ye lied, ye've disobeyed me as well... all this on top of destroying someone else's property. Tomorrow we are going over to the classroom and ye are going to pull out each and every plane, then try to sand out all the pits... and iffin ye can't fix the damage ye've created, ye are paying for it by working it off around the temple for Brother Grayson, until he decides ye's worked off yer debt. That piece of slate cost the temple and this village half a year offerings and wages. They bought it to teach their young how to get ahead in the world, not how to be disrespectful and rude. Go to bed. Ye've a long day before ye."

Not waiting for a reply, Tam leaves the room closing the door firmly behind him. Then he locks all the windows and doors and builds up the fire. His encounter with Bez has left him feeling chilled to the bone. He props his feet up to the fire on a stool and sits there, brooding long into the night.

But when he returns he finds Tam sitting on his bed, wearing a frown that does nothing for his normally handsome face.

"That is twice now ye've chosen to blatantly disobey me. In less than 24 hours to boot. I want yer harp and yer pipes out on me worktable now."

He gets up and walks out of the room, leaving the door open, and stands by the table.

Tam sees what he is doing and this infuriates him even more. He stomps over and kicks over the little smelting pot, letting the ore spill into the fire. "I said I want your instruments... NOW!"

Tam picks up the instruments and locks them away with a reverence that make Kero shiver. The he turns and points to Kerobian's room. "To yer room now." He's afraid that the cat will see him break down in tears if he stays around him any longer and if he does he is quite certain the cat will misread his sorrow as something entirely different.
