totoro789 こんにちは、わたしは の なまえ わ ととろです。わたしわ かなだじんです。 Hello, My name is Totoro.I'm Canadian.^^ jane(see you) じゃね、 ととろ(totoro) You don't say "watashi wa" when you want to say "my"; it's "watashi no." You had both wa and no. lol And when using wa as a particle, it's は not わ. ^^

just something to add. If you say "watashi no", you have to put "namae", and then your name, and then desu, from what I've read.
"watashi wa" just means I am. right?

Yeah, that's just if you want to say "My name is..." If you just wanna say "my" period, just "watashi no" ^^ Yes, "watashi wa" is "I" or "me." "Atashi" can be used with girls, and "boku" and "ore" with boys, I believe (all informal).

Doko de hiraganato katakana no softwarewo download suru?
(Where can I download a software [to write in] hiragana/katakana?)Hey thats pretty impressive. Watashiwa Gaara Foreva desu. ^^ I can introduce myself in Japanese! yay! and as for the software... Im not sure. ("not" and "it's not" in Japanese is "janai desu" or "dewa arimasen" right?) so if I said "Im not sure" it'd be along the lines of...Watashi janai desu....riiight?? Im still very new at speaking...cant u tell? =P

こんいちわみんあさん。
My japanese is really limited, but I have a quick question.
To say "It wasn't a cat", it's:
猫をでわありませんでした。
But I heard you can't replace じゃない with でわありません. Why's that? Isn't でわありません formal while じゃないです informal?
@Gaara Foreva: I'll give this a try, but yeah, "it's not" is either dewa arimasen or janai desu. Er, I don't know what 'sure' is in Japanese. ^^; But maybe it's like, "Watashi wa _____ janai desu."

今日は、みんなさん。 Konnichi wa minna san. Hello everbody. 私はリヴィアです。 Watashi wa Livia desu. Im Livia. ERIKAさん, to you use windows? If so (at least for windows xp) you just have to install the stuff for japanese language (east asia, I think). You probaly have it installed already so you just have to add the idiom in your idiom bar and such... I can give more details if you need. But if you need a software then I really dont know where you can download it, sorry. aiddictedさん と Gaaraさん Im a japanese begginer myself, so I can tell for sure... This page explains desu and iru/aru verbs http://www.timwerx.net/language/jpverbs/lesson7.htmI don't know how you say "I'm not sure." but I think you'll probaly use janai.
