Chip nodded and looked over as Darcey silently slid Maurice his beer. "You hear that, honey?" The woman nodded almost mechanically, brushing some of her jet-black hair to the side before going to make Aaron's order. A group of other bar goers were waving Chip over so he looked to the two, "Well duty calls! Let me know if you guys need anything else, 'kay?" And off he went to some other customers, leaving the mechanic and the boxer alone together.

"So what do you do to bring in the bread, Aaron?" Maurice asked in an effort to make some conversation before taking a swig of his beer.

His head swiveled, following Chip as he went off to deal with the other patrons. He blinked & looked at Maurice for a moment.
"Oh... I-I am a-an auto-mechanic. I-I've worked on-on a-a lot of d-different vehicles... I-I like working on th-the off-r-road ones..." Aaron answered,"...other th-than that... m-military. Wh-What d-do you d-do..?"
The mechanic was hoping that the boxer was not going to judge him for being apart of the army.

"Mechanic, huh? Maybe I'll bring in my old clunker sometime, thing could really use a tune-up." He barely used his car anyways since one, owning a car in NYC is crazy expensive, and two, it was better for him to walk and run everywhere. He wondered to himself which of those two occupations Aaron hurt his back in, and was gonna try and ask when he was asked about his own job.

"I'm a boxer, got a match in two days actually." Darcey then came over and slid a coke and a whiskey to the mechanic, and Maurice smiled at her, "You think I've got a shot at winning?"

"Nope," Was the woman's harsh curt reply before going back to her station.

"...Gee thanks for the vote of confidence." At that Maurice took another big gulp of his drink.

Aaron sipped on his whiskey, occasionally sipping on the coke. He nodded & chuckled at the bartender's response.
"I-I'm sure y-you'll d-do gr-great..." he said with a kind smile. The alcohol was making him lose his shyness. He thought for a few moments, wondering if he should ask the boxer if he was working at a gym or at home.

Maurice grinned at Aaron, feeling a little buzzed now. "Thanks, man! See, at least someone believes in me!" He looked over at Darcey, who simply shook her head as she cleaned some mugs. This reminded the boxer of something, and after a moment of thought he snapped his fingers in remembrance. "Oh, Aaron! You've gotta try Darcey's signature drink. You can't leave this bar without tasting that thing!" Having overheard Maurice says this, the tall imposing woman sighed and walked over silently, and he grinned. "One 'World Breaker,' please!" Almost as soon as the words came out of his beer-breathed mouth, the barrista slunk off to create her concoction.

With a raise of an eyebrow, the mechanic looked at the boxer in confusion. "Wh-What's it t-taste like..? Also... d-do you tr-train on y-your own or d-do you tr-train at a-a gym..?" he asked. Aaron absent-mindedly rubbed his back. However the whiskey was taking away the pain.

"Ah ah ah, I'm not telling!" Maurice wiggled his index finger at him childishly, "You've gotta taste it for yourself!" At the other question, he tensed ever so slightly at the image of his coach in his mind. "Gym. Got a... eh, coach and everything." He took another chug of his drink to drown out the thought of training for a few hours, and noticed Aaron rubbing his back. "Again, sorry 'bout that. How'd you hurt it anyways?"

The young man watched the boxer guzzle down his beer. He wondered how well the buffer man could hold his liqueur. When Maurice had asked about his back he paused, starring at the boxer for a minute. Aaron shuddered.
"I... I was bl-blown up by a mortar shell... Working on-on a D-Desert Patrol Vehicle... I-I... d-don't remember m-much after that. I-I had my back to-to it & it too th-the brunt of the d-damage. I-I was told that my-my spine was ex-exposed." Arron explained his face slowly growing paler the more he told the boxer, "I-I was medically discharged... st-still w-waiting on some p-post-op st-stuff, but the VA h-hospital says th-that the w-wait list is b-booked un-until next y-year."
Arron had by then put his head in his hands. There was a gut wrenching, wave of nausea from everything & he felt short of breath.

After a long moment, Levi unlocked the door, her eyes glazed over, and a hopelessly sleepy smile upon her fast. She took slow, almost elephant like steps down the stairs to the living room couch, flopping down onto it as if her own weight were a burden to her. Her arm slung over the side, fingers knocking to the floor. She hadn’t bothered to even undo her arm, her belt still held fast on her upper arm.

She looked up at the ceiling, a small smile on her lips, eyes unfocused and dream like. She was gone. A small line of blood rolled down from her injection. She’d been sloppy…

But her mind was quiet. So quiet. No thoughts. Only a feeling of floating and calm. “Shhh…” she whispered, “Do you hear the silence?” she asked no one.

The crying.
I'm dying.

They lied to me
They shot at me
They hate on me
They're dead to me
And now they're all my enemy

Mistee had never been to this place before, her excitement overpowering her better judgment, she nearly jumped out of the moving cab to get out into the parking-lot. Her bag whirled behind her as she spun in all directions to see all the cars, “Is é seo an rud éigin nua! Tá mé ar bís! An bhfaca tú a fheiceáil go!?” she smiled, pointing to the door. She practically jumped in place, forgetting her shyness with the idea of someone who can translate for her in her more comfortable language.

She ran to the door on Luna’s side, opening it for her, unbuckling her and stepping back, her face all smiles, “Come, teacht! Riamh bhí mé go dtí áit mar seo le daoine,” she blushed a little, but still smiled, “Liom dul go hiondúil ina n-aonar” she admitted, arms behind her.

Luna snapped to attention the moment the red-head leaned over her, having not previously noticed that they had stopped. While Mistee was unbuckling her seatbelt, Luna couldn't help but notice how good she smelled. Kind of like flowers, but not the kind she'd seen around the city, and not any she thought she recognized. Her mind floated for a moment until she heard Mistee talking beside her, having quickly withdrawn from the car after the seatbelt was free. She hadn't caught more than a couple words the young woman had said, having been momentarily distracted by her scent.

"Never? Never what now?" Luna crawled out of the car as Mistee continued talking, catching her last sentence. "I'm usually alone, too." She closed the door carefully with her elbow, making sure it latched by bumping it with her hip.

Luna stood up and looked around, then looked toward Lacy. "Are you allowed to park back here? It says "employees only" and I didn't think cab drivers worked at... what is this, a hotel?" She tilted her head, thought about what she'd just said, and followed up with, "Sorry, that was rude. I just want to make sure it's okay, y'know?" She offered Lacy an apologetic smile and started walking toward the street. Using employee parking was one thing, but she doubted it would be appreciated if they walked in the employee entrance.

The waitress gives a small nod and smiles at the thumbs up. How could she not smile? Kaylin was being so adorable kicking her feet. There was an internal aw and possibly an internal squee as well. Till she sees the girl wince, then Gypsy instantly looks concerned and moves a little closer.

"H-hey, are you okay? Do you need more to drink, w-would that help?" The waitress was fidgeting a bit as she asked. Rather preoccupied with Kaylin, she might miss if anyone else came in right then. The bartender would get her attention though, so really there would be nothing to worry about.

Her two companions were quite a pair--Mistee with her bubbly enthusiasm and Luna with her quiet uncertainty. A wistful smile tugged at the corners of Lacy's mouth, almost believing, for a moment, that they could all become friends. Placing Blackbeard once more on her shoulder, she curled his tail around the strap of her top to keep him in place. As one of his eyes gazed at her in his grumpiest of expressions, she patted his head, reassuringly. Locking up her taxi, she addressed Luna's concerns, "It's ok. I have an...arrangement...with some of the employees, here. They let me park, here, where it's a little safer, and I give them rides, sometimes."

Walking around front, the trio walked in the front entrance. Lacy nodded a brief hello to the bartender. She was usually by herself, so sat at the bar. She was unsure if you were supposed to seat yourself, so spotting a waitress speaking to a younger girl, nearby, she tried to flag her down.

(So sorry it took so long. I've been super busy.)

Mistee gasped at seeing the small little friend for the first time. She darted over to Lacy in the bar, looking right at him, “Hello my wee one!” she blurted out in English. Now that there was an animal in sight, she felt more relaxed. She cooed at him, holding up a finger, “You we’r hide’n, weren’t you?” she smiled, her accent like a thick honey in her mouth. Mistee looked to Luna and gave her a smile that scrunched up her nose, “Féach air!” she giggled, then to Lacy, “Cad é a ainm?” she asked, her eyes and interest now on the little buddy.

“I have a mutt who would jus’ love you~” she giggled, standing straight again, looking around the bar, brushing her skirts. She turned her head, bouncy curls, hugging around her ears as she tucked a lock behind her ear. “Riamh tá mé anseo. An bhfuil a dhíol siad uisce beatha ag an shots, nó ag an buidéal?” which was an odd question to ask. She turned to Luna again, “Má fhaigheann mé platter de rud éigin, beidh tú a roinnt le liom? Ní féidir liom a chríochnú ceann féin.”

Now that she had found a way to communicate to people in this city, she was quite the chatter box.

The bartender gave Lacy a warm smile and nod. She had friends with her today so she probably wouldn't be at the bar. His attention turned to the only waitress out on the floor at that particular moment to see if she had noticed.

Gypsy looked up hearing new voices and saw she was being flagged down. "I'll be back in a moment, okay?" She bobbed her head to Kaylin and headed over to the new arrivals.

"Hello ladies, table for three?" The waitress smiled gathering up three menus and gesturing for them to follow her to a table. Placing the menus down, she held up her notepad and pen. "May I start you off with some drinks?"
